About Michael

We walk everywhere and everything is just blocks away from this cottage. If you want to get out of Bend, Mt. Bachelor, lakes, hiking and mountain bike trails are all just a half hour away or less. Kayaking and floating the river are literally out the front door. Almost every weekend has a festival and/or live music in town.

Michael purchased this cottage in 2000

Why Michael chose Bend

There are few locations in the heart of Bend that are so centrally located to everything. It is in a charming neighborhood of older homes and every Wednesday during the summer is the farmer's market just a 5 minute walk. Thursday evenings include Munch n Music concerts in the park. Bakeries, pubs, restaurants, food carts, groceries and bike shop are a few blocks away.

What makes this cottage unique

This updated cottage was built in 1939. It has a large atic space that was converted to a master bedroom with it's own private bath, office/computer work station that looks out over the neighborhood with a peek of the river. Back yard is wonderfully private with a small fire pit, and gas barbeque. Bring your bike, kayak, and paddle board.

Cozy + Location = Perfect.

  • 5 of 5

This place was fantastic. We had never been to Bend and were pleasantly surprised by how well finished (restored) this home was and how perfect it's location is. It is within walking distance to everything you might need, and contains everything you will need to have a great trip (from kitchen wares to fire pit).

We had a great stay and would be eager to go back.

Fantastic Bend home

  • 5 of 5

We were in Bend for a wedding and stayed with friends who arrived from Boston. We were two couples with plenty of room. The house was very clean and well taken care of. The location was perfect. 10 minute walk to downtown, grocery store and many great restaurants. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Awesome location-close to downtown

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a place that allowed dogs and was close to the downtown area. We found this gem that had all the things we were looking for. The owner allowed dogs with a reasonable security deposit. The yard is completely fenced, we didn't leave our dog there, she went with us as we hiked and walked around to the local breweries. Downtown is a close 5 minute walk, as is The Lot, (great place for food trucks and beer), Sunriver Brewing, and 10 Barrel. If you like to walk, which we do, the Old Mill District is about 20 minutes, with the completion of the walking path under one of the main roadways it is a leisurely walk along the Dechutes River. The yard is clean and compact, our dog was so tired after our excursions she just hung out and lied on the grass while we made dinner and had our cocktails. The rooms are nice , clean and well decorated. We found the beds comfy. The kitchen is well stocked with all the items you'll need, there where frozen mugs in the freezer for our beer, nice touch! The neighborhood is very quiet, parking is along the street but there is access to the garage in the back off the alley if needed and comes with a remote door opener. There are enough windows to open for a good cross ventilation, and there is a window AC in the upper loft area, we were there in late June so it was very comfortable. Some of the windows do not have screens, didn't know why but maybe an oversight on the owner but it really didn't make a big difference. When we were there in late June construction was on going at the lot next door. They started this construction from a vacant lot so they were pumping concrete and cutting rebar when we there. Not to bad but as the summer goes on there may be more noise as they had not yet begun to frame the house, so if you are going this year I would email the owner and ask how far along the construction is, or get cancellation insurance just in case, as I feel the noise will get worse as time goes on during construction. The City of Bend allows construction from 7am to 7 pm. The workers usually stopped around 5 pm, so just be for-warned. There is a BBQ on the back porch , the BBQ utensils are not what I expected, so if you plan on doing some BBQ'ing it won't hurt to bring along your own utensils, we also found the knives a little dull, so you may want to bring some if you are having steaks. Overall , we were extremely pleased with this rental and would stay here again as well as recommend it to friends

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time staying here during our wedding. The location is excellent and Michael was very responsive! Only complaint was that there wasn't a whole lot of coffee with caffeine left, but we were so busy and close to town that we usually just stopped into one of the many cafes downtown.

Beautiful bungalow

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this super cute bungalow! The location is ideal! We chose it, in part, for the nearness to Harmon park, but spent most our time (when we weren't out exploring) in the beautiful backyard (or enjoying coffee in the sunroom). There are great restaurants within walking distance from the house. It comfortably fit 4 adults and a 2 year old. Despite the heat during our visit, we managed to stay pretty cool at night with the window AC unit and strategically placed fans. We would definitely stay again!

Perfect vacation in Bend!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have found a more perfect house for our vacation in Bend. The neighborhood was charming and what a great location. You could walk anywhere. It was easy access to the river walk, shopping and downtown. The house was clean and beautifully decorated (the beds were so comfortable) and the backyard was a great place to hang out. The description on the website was completely accurate and our host was wonderful. I am so happy we found a great place to stay when we visit family. We are looking forward to our next trip to Bend. Thank you Michael!

Incredible downtown location with Harmon and Drake Park across the street, pubs, restaurants, Newport Market, Bend festivals, and The Les Schwab Amphitheater a short walk/bike ride from the front door. The center of downtown Bend is a 5 minute walk. For families, the kids park is across the street and the downtown library is awesome..or walk over to Cuppa Yo for a great yogurt sundae.
