Stephen & Gale Ray purchased this house in 1956
Casa Ray is a great place for a family vacation or a girls getaway. Enjoy dinner by the fire on the quiet covered patio or curl up with a book by the fireplace inside.
This is your comfortable home-away-from-home. Our home is close to downtown and the beach. It is easy to get to any event in the Santa Barbara area and the perfect place to come to relax after a busy day. A map in the family room leads to many of our favorite places in Santa Barbara.
We felt right at home and had a wonderful time! We loved the central location of the home. We also loved having breakfast on the patio, very relaxing! Walter and Shannon, Chatsworth., CA
We rented this place for over 5 months for our family of 5 and were really happy with it. The location on top of the Mesa is great, close to Lazy Acres and the newly opened Vons, not far from shoreline park and the highway. The address belongs to the Washington Elementary school (grades K-6, walking distance), which turned out to be a great choice, highly recommended! The house is not the newest, admitted, but is clean and well equipped and has lots of space and charm. The owners were very nice, helpful and quick to respond on questions. Although the house is on a busy street, traffic noise never was an issue from the back facing sleeping rooms. There is even a very close bus stop with an express bus to UCSB and other buses to downtown. We'll return for the next sabbatical in a few years!
Good location - close to beach and town. Best food and ocean view's at Boathouse at Hendry's Beach.
The master bedroom was quiet at night. Everything was as expected, except Meig's Road is a major link from US 101 to Cliff Drive with fast traffic, and noisy at night in the two bedrooms facing the road.
We spent 3 nights over there, very enjoyed the stay. House is very clean, full loaded kitchen makes our stay much convenient, perfect location close to a beautiful beach and stores. Easily connect to high way, but the neighbor is quiet. Highly recommended.
Owners are a pleasure to deal with, home is comfortable, clean, and homey.
We came to Santa Barbara for the first time to attend a wedding. We decided for four people, it made a lot more sense to rent a vacation home instead of two hotel/motel rooms. We were looking for space, kitchen, peace and quiet, comfort. We found them all at Casa Ray. Very stylish older(like us) home. All the comforts of home, except A/C, which I'm told is not required very often in Santa Barbara. We will definatly return to Casa Ray on our next visit.
My family and I stayed here for a weekend as we were in Santa Barbara for a friend's wedding. This was the perfect place for our entire family, not too cramped, and had great space for everyone to gather in the dining area and living room. The location was good as well as we found ourselves close to the beach and nearby markets. Would recommend!
