About Gretchen Rossi
I am not a morning person but watching the sun rise and sparkle on the water, then light up Cascade Head and finally wake up the homes just below is irresistible. Sitting there quietly beside the fire with a hot cup of coffee as the light streams in through all the windows energizes and soothes at the same time. I can start breakfast before anyone is up, while the sun rises higher in the sky and the rest of the house starts to stir, perhaps they smell the coffee or hear the sound of the waves crashing on the shore calling them. Our two dogs know today is a day for adventure and are already out in the yard sniffing all the smells so different from those back home. Our family has owned a home over by Devil’s lake since I was young. The tide pools of Road’s End and the trails of Cascade Head were my backyard away from home growing up. This particular home with its oversized decks facing the ocean, hardwood floors, tiled kitchen and beautiful bathroom fixtures was everything I imagined and we are thrilled to be able to share it with others.

Why Gretchen Rossi chose Roads End
I can start breakfast before anyone is up, as the sun rises higher in the sky and the rest of the house starts to stir, perhaps they smell the coffee or hear the sound of the waves crashing on the shore calling them. Our two dogs know today is a day for adventure and are already out in the yard sniffing all the smells so different from those back home.
What makes this House unique
Be careful or you will come home with nothing but photos of the views from the Great Room and Balcony. From sunrise to sunset I could sit and watch the light play on the waves, binoculars ready for possible whale sightings. Driftwood has a large master suite complete with Jacuzzi tub that is a treat unto itself. Sink into the tub after a day of hiking Cascade Head just don't fall asleep. Save sleeping for the king size bed with a mattress that will make it hard to want to leave. I think my most favorite feature at Driftwood is the beautiful oil-rubbed bronze bathroom fixtures. Sleek and gleaming against the white walls stepping into the restroom is like walking into a spa retreat.

BEAUTIFUL home, extremely CLEAN, great VIEWS and VERY WELL APPOINTED!
Gretchen and Mark are very responsive and make sure you have everything you need. This trip was for my mom (a bucket list trip to the Lincoln City Kite Festival ). I was disappointed that I had picked a place a little further from the location of the festival but then we pulled up the driveway and all of my apprehension went away. We all LOVED it from the moment we pulled into the driveway and my mom decided to skip the first day of the festival and enjoy a book and coffee on the deck listening to the ocean. I have rented through VRBO before and picked a dog friendly home that charged a lot higher of a fee and smelled like dogs this definitely
WAS NOT the case here you would never know a dog had ever been in this house if it had not been for the cute food and water bowls with dog bones set out and the fantastic dog run (with gravel so your pup won’t get all muddy) for guests with pets. We can’t wait to come back!
Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us it’s a 20 star all the way so much more comfortable then a hotel any day!
The house was clean and well-stocked.. The views from the great
room and balcony are lovely. Roomy for our group. It was nice to have an enclosed area for the dogs outside.
The house is beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the neighborhood and close beach access.
Family get away
Clean, convenient, very enjoyable location, great area for pets. Description needs updating, now has electric stove instead of gas, no longer has pet door. We loved having exterior doors for the two smaller bedrooms
I try to update the description when we make changes. I did find another place where it referred to a gas stove that I missed. Thank you for being observant and letting me know.
Glad to hear the location worked well and the pet area also.

Great for a small family getaway
Stayed a week for my moms birthday, the stairs were rough on her back but overall it was a nice get away. Quiet neighborhood, saw a family of deer in the yard daily. A nice porch to enjoy the evenings. Thank you for letting us stay
We appreciate you choosing Driftwood to celebrate your mom's birthday. Sorry the stairs were a problem for her.

Very happy you were able to find a couple days to get away to Lincoln City and create more memories.
