Villa Kaira is one of 6 traditional stone built houses on the elevated position at Alagadi beach. This is also known as Turtle beach as you are able to see the Turtles lay and bury their eggs during the summer months.
It has the best of both worlds with its wonderful views of the Five Finger mountain range at the back of the property and also overlooking the sea from the front. It is a small residential area and very peaceful so great for having some well needed est and relaxation. There is a main living/dining area which leads through a stone arch to the fully equipped kitchen area so there is everything you need for those nights when cooking in. You follow the wrought iron spiral staircase to take you to the master bedroom with its own en suite and terrace with views overlooking the pool and garden area. The two remaining bedrooms are located downstairs which the main bathroom between them.
We have a wonderful asset to Villa Kaira in the shape of Denise, our house manager. Denise has lived in Kyrenia for 30 years and is now something of a local celebrity as she has appeared on TV in Cyprus and now has a slot on the only English speaking Radio show in Northern Cyprus. Any problems you experience at the Villa you are able to call Denise and she can assist with most things or even help to book restaurants etc. This has proved invaluable in the past and it really takes away any anxiousness you may have about renting a Villa abroad for the first time.
Our return visit to this wonderful place. There have been a few changes since our last visit, all of them positive. As usual, the villa was very clean with everything you could wish for. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the lounge area is nicely decorated and furnished. There is patio furniture on the master bedroom patio on the first floor with a view over the med an ideal place to sit with a glass of wine watching the sun go down. The pool is checked and maintained regularly, and is always clean and clear,The availability of WiFi was a huge help to us so that we could keep in touch with home without running up huge Phone bills. Also, the addition of a TV with Satellite was great for tired kids at the end of a hot day out , or exhausted from playing in the crystal clear pool. Being North Cyprus, the electricity supply can be a little temperamental, but there were plenty of candles to hand, and it actually was nice to just sit and talk together, the kids loved it! Denise was always on hand to advise or support us, and is a mine of local information. The minor problems we had were dealt with very quickly and competently, she and Andy between them gave us confidence that what ever happened, it would be dealt with. The location of the villa still takes my breath away when you open the lounge door to the front or rear, My family love it here, and I suspect we will be returning again, probably with friends and family in tow.
We stayed at this lovely villa for a week in July 2012 and would highly recommend – we’ll definitely be going back!
We couldn't have wished for more from a week long holiday where we just needed to relax and re-charge. The location is fantastic as a completely relaxing 'get away from it all' break. Having your own private pool is an absolute bonus, especially with it being over 40 degrees on all 7 days of our stay.
The very positives from our perspective: the villa itself and the facilities - there wasn't anything we needed which wasn't there; private pool - it was amazingly hot for us (!); location, being away from the main tourist areas; peacefulness; having 3 decent restaurants within walking distance; choice of supermarkets nearby; proximity to Kyrenia for a change some evenings when we visited the harbour area. We didn’t have any problems with the road noise other reviewers have mentioned.
North Cyprus itself was new to us, but didn't disappoint. We liked the fact that it's still unspoilt by the global brands; the food was good and everything really fresh, the people very friendly and there was a good choice of places to eat and things to do.
It was also very useful to have Denise at hand if anything were to go wrong or if we needed anything. She was very friendly and approachable, but at the same time unobtrusive – it’s a definite benefit having someone with local knowledge on hand if needed.
The booking process was very easy; the information on the web is a very accurate reflection of the villa and surroundings; Joanne provided good communication throughout and before we travelled with clear information provided beforehand; there was also a very quick refund of the deposit at the end of our stay.
All in all, a fantastic break at a fantastic location!
A villa with a view to die for, we had a fantastic holiday staying at this lovely villa, on arrival the fridge was wellstocked by Denise, taxi and hire car was on time with no problems. We spent lovely evenings sat on the balcony with views out to the sea.
Turtle beach project is only a five minute walk away, and if your there at the right time of year you can be lucky enough to be able to release them into the sea,
Benoz restaurant 10 mins walk down the road is the best Bar in the village, the owner is very friendly, the food is good especially for fresh fish.
During your stay if you have any problems or need some information Denise is on the end of the phone and is very helpful.
One little problem,if you come from a quiet village the noise of the road behind does wake you up in the mornings (early), if your not used to it. The villa could benefit from double glazing being installed.
All in all, we had a fantastic holiday and would definately return to this villa for another wonderful holiday in the future.
Having rented villas many times in the past, we thought this sounded a little too good to be true. But we were wrong. The description of the villa is about as accurate as its possible to be. What it cont tell you is how stunning the views are both front and back. The villa was very clean on arrival, The car collected us from the airport exactly as planned, and the hire car arrived within half an our of us getting to the villa. Denise (local manager) had even arranged the flowers I had asked for as it was my wifes birthday on the day of travel.
The villa had everything we needed to make our holiday a success, but it had one thing that no other place has...Denise! She was one of the friendliest people you could wish to meet, and was a mine of hints, tips and local information. She always seemed to be around whenever a question needed to be answered.
The villa is located at the top of the hill behind the village, which means that we had a lovely breeze in the late afternoon, just in time to cool down before going out to dinner. Not that you would need to travel far, there are 3 restaurants within walking distance!
There is a beach about 15 mins walk (or 4 mins if you prefer to drive). The beach is open from 8am to 8pm. Its a conservation area due to the sea turtles nesting there. There is a conservation project on the edge of the village, and we went and spent the evening with them. We got to release some hatchlings into the sea, and then sat on the beach til 2am, it was worth the wait. We got to sit 2m behind a turtle after she came ashore and laid her eggs. An experience none of us will ever forget. If this appeals to you, best go down there and book it. It gets very busy and places are strictly limited. There is no cost for this, but as its a charity, we put a few quid in the tin, and also took all our spare food etc at the end of the holiday.
The pool area is well furnished and very clean, and there is a seating area just outside the rear lounge doors, a great place to sit and have breakfast, or a glass of wine at the end of the day.
The main road runs in a cutting to the rear of the villa, but you would hardly know it was there.
This is an ideal base for a holiday, the main town of Kyrenia (Girne) is only a short drive away, as are the supermarkets, who all do pretty much anything you need.
All in all, a wonderful holiday was had by us all, and we will be returning to Villa Kaira again in the future I'm sure.
Date of Stay: Sept 2011
Spent a week at Villa Kiara and was very pleased with the standard of the Villa. It was fully equipped with everything you could want to make it home from home.
I have stayed at a few different villas in the area over the past few years and can honestly say this was the best one by far. The Villa is in a perfect location and has some lovely balconies where you can sit and watch the sun set with a nice glass of chilled wine!!!!
The area has numerous beaches, one being only a ten minute walk away (My husband loved this and ran to the beach and back every morning) but my favourite was Turtle Beach as you can watch the turtles laying their eggs etc. The children were amazed.
A drive up the mountains is a must whilst staying in this villa as the Bellapais Monastry and the views are amazing.
Benos Restaurant is within walking distance. Great food and really friendly staff.
Will definately visit again.
We have stayed at the villa twice now in September 2009 and again in September 2010. The villa is in a prime spot with mountains to the rear and the sea at the front . The village is rural with many Cypriate families living and working there . The villas are all privately owned and we felt that we could be totally isolated when we wished but could also interact with our neighbours if we chose to do so . The villa had been enhanced on our second visit with lovely soft furnishings and extra equipment particularly in the kitchen . Having said that although self catering and equipped with lots of utensils etc to do a spot of cooking plus the barbeque, we found that the local restuarants many within walking distance or a short drive away were reasonable and offered a wide variety of turkish and eurpean fayre, so we didn't cook much . The pool is an absolute boon, and we spent many lazy days just reading and cooling off with intermittent dips when we felt the need . I am surprised at the comments about the noise from the road, the bedrooms are all air conditioned so at night we slept with windows closed to prevent the mosquitoes from coming in and never found the road a problem, and there was very little traffic in the day.
On each occasion our arrival was event free with the transfers working like clockwork and the hire car being delivered and collected , we were really spoilt . Denise the local contact could not have been more helpful, suggesting places to visit and ensuring that the villa was lovely for our arrival with the added touches of bourganvillia enahcing the decor .
The layout of the patios and balconies enabled us to follow the sun when we wanted or ensured a spot of shade when needed whatever time of day.
We toured round many of the developments during our stay and we felt the villas stood out against the rest with maximum levels of privacy good views and an authentic Turkish Cypriate feel .
We will be visiting again and cant wait

On Turtle beach you find wonderful rock pools for the children to explore as well as this being the location for the diving centre, a great place to start diving if you have never tried it ! In 15 minutes you are in the heart of Kyrenia where you will find the hustle and bustle of town life.
