New York Cabin Rental Photos and Description

One Bedroom Loft With Amazing Views

Deep in the woods on 38 private acres, only one mile from Bristol Mountain. Be as secluded as you want or as connected as you want with Wi-Fi, HD cable TV and excellent cell phone coverage. The only other property on our 38 acres, is our Bristol Cabin, also available on VRBO (#484719). The two cabins are 200 - 300 yards apart, and not in sight of each other.

During the winter months, you really need a four wheel drive vehicle if it is snowy or icy The driveway gets plowed, but that doesn't always eliminate slippery spots if it stays below freezing. The driveway is very long with hills. If you come in a two wheel drive vehicle and it is snowy or icy, your chances of getting all the way up are 50/50.

About Jeff or Mary Jane Jones

My wife Mary Jane (MJ) and I and our three grown children (Sarah, Ben and Tim) are an adventure family. We sail, ski, bike, hike and more. We have lived in many different parts of the country and love Rochester's proximity to the great lakes, the finger lakes and the Bristol hills. We couldn't ask for more things to do in all seasons.

Jeff or Mary Jane Jones purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Jeff or Mary Jane Jones chose New York

This property, nestled on 38 private acres in the heart of the Bristol Hills, is just a 'different world' for us. Only 35 minutes away from our primary residence in Victor, NY, we come to the Bristol Hills often, whenever we need to get away, relax and have fun.

What makes this cabin unique

There are beautiful views in all directions and from every window. Peaceful, quiet and always a ton of things to do while enjoying nature. Only a short drive to Canadaigua, Naples and Rochester, NY.

Charming rustic A-frame in the woods

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was exactly as pictured and very clean. We chose the A-frame because we loved the retro design. We enjoyed having meals on the deck. It was like being in a treehouse. We also enjoyed making a fire in the firepit in the evening. The property is extremely private, which we enjoy. We enjoyed walking our dogs along the path which goes through the woods on the property. We enjoyed looking around the area but were also happy just staying at the cottage. We wish we had been able to spend more time there. The owners left us a nice bottle of local wine which we enjoyed.

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful cabin is so tasteful and elegant, and it is located on a gorgeous plot of land. We loved how quiet and private the cabin was, and the trail on the property is so well maintained and beautiful. It is an amazing place to get away and relax. Really, it is a magical place. Yet, nearby there are great restaurants, amazing walks and gorges, and the lake. So you can benefit from the great area while staying in a private paradise. Jeff and MJ are attentive, generous, and thoughtful, and attend to your needs. We can't wait to return.

Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the A-Frame. I'm finishing my masters degree in Boston while home is in Cleveland. This was the perfect halfway point for me to meet my boyfriend and the added bonus was he could bring the dogs... We all loved it! The cabin is beautiful with a wall of windows overlooking the woods. It was stocked with everything we needed. The only hard part was climbing the steep stairs to the bedroom, the dogs needed some help. Overall, I would recommend the A-Frame for anyone needing a get away weekend!

Nice area to relax

Went during Easter weekend. Beautiful weather, beautiful area. Lots of fun and very peaceful time to relax. Could only be better if the Fall foliage was out.

A wonderful winter getaway!

  • 4 of 5

We were lucky enough to have this get away right when winter really hit. We were able to stay indoors and warm up by the fire, escaping the -24 degree windchill outside. When we did venture out, the property was beautiful; complete silence surrounded us. We hope to return with more couples in the future :)

A perfect Valentine's Day treat, and very accommodating when we had to call about a couple of questions. We were able to make our own home cooked meals, and stay indoors, but would have had plenty to do if we had wished to venture out in to the neighboring areas.

Amazing A-frame & hosts!

  • 5 of 5

This place was amazing!! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend. We were hoping for a secluded getaway where we felt really isolated but had some comforts. This a-frame fit the bill perfectly! The house was super cute and nicely decorated. It had all the kitchen basics we needed. The couches were really comfortable and cozy. The TV and speakers were hooked up and easy to use. We loved the gas fireplace which heated the home. The house was in the middle of a large property where we felt very isolated, which was exactly what we wanted. We went for some hikes on the property which was really beautiful even in winter. It also snowed while we were there which made for a nice ambiance.

In addition to the amazing-ness of the house on its own, Jeff and MJ were also really great hosts. Jeff answered all my initial questions about the property immediately after I booked the place. He also sent me several very handy documents which had clear instructions and recommendations for the area. These were also printed out in the house so we could reference them while we were there. We went to one of the places he recommended for dinner and had a great time.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway. We definitely want to come back here, we loved it so much!!

Owner's Response: Thanks Diane! We are really pleased that you enjoyed yourselves so much and are already planning to come back. Our goal is to always have our properties be just the way we would expect a vacation property to be, if we were the guests. That means; homey, nicely decorated, neat and clean and well maintained and stocked. We want all of our guests to return time and time again!! Thanks again for staying. Regards, Jeff and MJ

The A-Frame was built in the 1940's. We fell in love with the building, it's contents and the location and purchased it in 2006. As our budget allowed, we restored the building, including a new metal roof, all new windows, new floor, new fireplace and heat, etc. Our goal was to maintain as much of the historic style, contents and ruggedness as possible, while restoring the basic structure. We finally completed renovation during 2012 and listed the property as a vacation rental in the fourth quarter of the year. It was a long road, but is now beautiful and functional. You won't be disappointed!
