Saint Gervais Studio Rental Photos and Description

Luxurious studio apartment in the heart of Paris

Located in the heart of the charming and fashionable Marais neighborhood (4th arrondissement) in the center of Paris, this fully renovated and beautifully maintained apartment possesses the perfect balance of historic beauty combined with high-tech modern conveniences: from ultra high-speed fiber optic WIFI Internet, to a state-of-the-art Miele clothes washer and dryer, and central air-conditioning. Ideal for couples, individuals, or a couple of friends who want to spend the perfect holiday in an authentically Parisian apartment without sacrificing any modern comforts, this apartment is a luxurious and incredibly comfortable haven in the heart of one of the most desirable and safe neighborhoods to be in. Located on the top floor (6th floor) with an elevator to the 5th floor and then one easy flight of stairs, this apartment affords sweeping views over the iconic rooftops of Paris, including a view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Foodies will fall in love with the array of eateries surrounding the apartment and some of the best restaurants in the city, and those with a taste for fashion will find themselves in the middle of a seemingly unending labyrinth of designer boutiques mixed among high fashion shops and art galleries.

LOCATION: As a resident of a centuries-old building on a beautiful winding granite cobbled street, which even by Parisian high standards is considered a particularly beautiful and charming street, you will have museums, art galleries, incredible food and the latest in fashion at your doorstep. It is also just steps away from the beautiful Place des Vosges, numerous museums, parks and the river quays for romantic walks along the Seine. Additionally, the shops and restaurants in this neighborhood have the unique distinction of being open on Sundays, a rarity in Paris, which gives you the convenience of having everything you need available to you 7 days a week. The neighborhood is so popular on Sundays that the streets are closed off to cars and the area becomes a pedestrian zone for the day.

SLEEPING: Fall asleep on the highest quality mattress and crisp white pressed linens that ensure very restful nights. There are two sleeping areas: the loft space with a 140cm x 200cm bed (larger than a US full size bed) and a sofabed that amazes guests with its comfortable and incredibly firm full-size mattress that is 160cm x 200cm (also larger than a US queen size bed). The large skylights and southern exposure fill the apartment with natural light year-round, while the remote-controlled electric skylight shades allow you to sleep late or go to bed early if you need to transition to the time change; this is particularly useful in the summer when it can be light out until as late as 11:00pm! Fall asleep looking into the Paris sky, watching the beam of the Eiffel tower brush the clouds overhead, or on a clear night looking up at the stars.

* 2 guests are asked to use 1 bed. If 2 guests would like to use separate beds, please indicate 3 guests when making the booking.

EATING: A white stone counter top and white glass cabinets conceal a full service kitchen that is ideal for picking up food at local markets and at nearby bakeries, cheese, chocolate and wine shops and enjoying in the apartment. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, oven-microwave, cook-top, and built-in aeration hood and lighting. A short walk from one of the biggest open-air food markets in Paris at the nearby Bastille, foodies will find themselves in culinary heaven with both internationally lauded haute-cuisine, as well as up and coming restaurants and bistrots surrounding the apartment.

About Michael

I fell in love with this property because of its incredible location in the heart of the city on a beautifully picturesque street, combined with the historic charm of the surrounding Marais neighborhood (with its famous food and fashion boutiques and museums). Add to that the fact that there is an elevator (only 1 in 200 buildings in this historic area have elevators) and that it has sweeping views over the city, this is truly a special place.

Why Michael chose 4th Arrondissement Pompidou Le Marais

Location. Surrounded by museums, incredible food, fashion boutiques, and quintessential old-world charm.

This is my second stay in this very apartment

  • 5 of 5

I stayed 2 years ago in this lovely studio and booked it again when my 13 yr old daughter and I took a trip to Paris together. I knew the area is safe and convenient ( not to mention very chic with great shopping and even greater food options!). I knew it was very clean and well appointed. Michael helps think of everything from airport transfers to dining suggestions. The apartment has pluses of laundry, dishwasher, cable and free wifi as well as very (VERY) comfortable bedding on both the pull out sofa and the loft bed. There's plenty of sunlight via skylights so the apartment is bright and airy but those skylights have wonderful darkened shades to close at night so the sun won't wake us too early. We were very comfortable for each stay and I would certainly book again!

Fantastic location, beatiful view, elegantly appointed rooftop Paris flat

  • 5 of 5

Lovely, central location in a historical, storied part of Paris. We felt safe in the neighborhood at all hours, and the flat was securely protected by a code-activated front door. The furnishings were all top-grade, Michael was so helpful in explaining everything in person upon arrival. Seeing the Eiffel Tower and its light show from the window was a special gift. A fine coffee-maker, full kitchen, beautiful large (for Paris) shower with rain head, elevator to 5th floor with only a one-floor walk-up, all contributed to the wonderful experience we had.

Unbelievably Marvelous Remarkable Centrally Located Apartment

  • 5 of 5

We were so lucky to find Michael's gem of an apartment. Michael is an architect with exquisite taste and attention to detail. Our location in the Marais was perfect to get anywhere in Paris. My wife felt at ease walking at midnight or noon. The building had an elevator which is rare in most apartment dwellings in Paris. Michael had every modern convenience available whether it be a huge fridge and freezer, nespresso coffee machine with unlimited coffee pods and morning madeleines to huge seperate Miele washer and dryer, dishwasher, every kitchen item necessary, oils, spices, ironing board and iron, you name it. This place is better equipped than our home back in California. There is even a view of the eiffel tower. The location is very near to main metro lines and grocery stores that stay open until midnight. He has a large screen hi-def tv with hundreds of cable channels. The wifi is an ultra speed fiber optic system that you can stream Netflix movies or Amazon television and movies or youtube media better than we can at home with no buffering at all. Amazing speeds! He provides a telephone with free calls to anywhere in the world. Not Skype but a real landline. He has a binder with restaurant suggestions, museums, maps, instructions for all appliances and shops for getting anything you could possibly need. The location in the Marais has stores open on Sunday which is rare in Paris. The bathtoom has the greatest shower with a wonderful rain shower head and also a hand held shower attachment. Many great fluffy towels are included as well as shampoo, soap for washer, gels, makeup remover, kleenex tissue and plenty of toilet tissue. Also important to me, great water pressure, plenty of hot water and hair dryer. Adapters are available and there are tons of wall plugs for charging as well as an American power strip to cut down on adapters needed. The apartment is on a pedestrian street which makes walking around so easy. We will return as this is our new home away from home in Paris. Michael is a terrific host who replies to all requests right away. I asked where we could buy more coffee pods and later that day there were 20 of our favorite flavor there for us. Trash receptacles and recycle bins are very close to elevator. The best Jewish deli is round the corner and wonderful doner kebab and falafel places are half a block away. So delicious. Try Snack Rivoli for excellent pizza on Rue des Rivoli about 3 blocks away. Parking is close and plentiful.Very safe.

Live in Paris like a local

  • 5 of 5

This was the first of what my wife and I hope will be many trips to Paris.

My friends and family always boasted about how lovely the city is and we found it to be that and much more.

Staying for a week at this lovely apartment gave us the chance to really experience Paris as a local. The apartment is in a wonderful neighborhood with easy access to the metro, shopping and restaurants.

The apartment was beautifully decorated with all the amenities one would expect from their own home. We were greeted at the door and given a quick "things to know" about our temporary home. The lovely bottle of wine gift on the table near a window that looked at Les Marais was just the right touch of "Welcome Home".

My wife and I can't wait to go back to Paris and stay here again.

PS: Michael and Suzanne made it easy for us to rent the apartment --- every step of the way.

Thank you!

Marais Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Our second stay in this lovely apartment and we are talking about making it our regular base for Paris trips. We arrived very late on the Eurostar, but Michael was able to arrange access for us without any problems (and the bottle of wine in the flat was very welcome too). The apartment was spotlessly clean as before and very comfortable. The location could not be better, in the heart of medieval Paris, with any number of cafes, restaurants, etc within a few minutes' walking distance, and because the Marais is traditionally the Jewish quarter, also open on Sundays. Thanks also to Michael for letting us leave our bags in the apartment on Sunday until our late afternoon departure! Hope to visit again before too long

Map

The apartment is located in the heart of the city, in the Marais, which is the oldest and best preserved neighborhood in Paris (the street the apartment is on was created in the 1100s and is one of the most beautiful in the city, paved in granite, and lined with 19th century street lamps). The surrounding area is full of restaurants, art galleries, and high-fashion shopping. The apartment is within walking distance of numerous museums and monuments, including the Picasso Museum, the Carnavalet Museum (the museum of the history of Paris), the beautiful place des Vosges, Notre Dame Cathedral, and numerous others. Additionally, it is only a 2 minute walk from the apartment to the St. Paul metro station, which is on the high-speed modern automated Line 1 (the yellow line) that goes right through the heart of the city directly to numerous monuments and sites, such as the Musée du Louvre and Arc de Triomphe.
