La Grange Sud is part of the LUXURY DORDOGNE VILLAS group which consists of two villas. The 2nd villa is Acabanes 53641 - Home Away reference and is 6 miles from La Grange, a slow 10 minute drive away through single track lanes or a beautiful cycle ride on the complimentary bikes. If you have a larger group than La Grange can accommodate then you may be interested in booking Acabanes also. Your group will have the benefit of private accommodation but still be close to each other.

La Grange is unique as it is a wonderful holiday home for all ages and interests, however, can also be enjoyed as a place to enjoy a great round of golf whilst on holiday.

Our guests enjoy a 30% reduction of rounds at Vigiers and we have complimentary golf clubs/trolleys and bags.

La Grange is a large, luxurious refurbished French farmhouse, situated in a beautiful area of the Western Dordogne, overlooking the fairways of the prestige golf course of Château des Vigiers which also has a Michelin Star restaurant. It is 20 minutes from Bergerac and the airport.

This character farmhouse has very flexible accommodation and can equally be enjoyed by a couple or by a large group. If you are a small group then please do contact Tracey the owner for reduced out of season rates.

There are extensive facilities for all ages and interests. If there is something which will make your holiday perfect, then please let me know and I will endeavour to purchase it for your stay.

GREAT ASSET!! - Matthew, our optional, in house chef, who offers a range of very affordable dining options at Acabanes. Large groups love having this option. Please contact Tracey for his brochure and more details.

This luxury villa has been designed and equipped for outdoor living, with a large (9x5m) superb heated pool with retractable cover, which means it can be used as an indoor or outdoor pool.

We cater for all sizes of parties and can accommodate and have extensive facilities for both the very young; through to the elderly.

The pool and terraces have been designed to produce the maximum space for guests whilst also maximising individual space. The 9 x 5 m pool is surrounded by a terrace. The pool is fitted with a retractable telescopic pool cover. There is atmospheric lighting in the pool which means it can be used late into the evening.

It is heated and guaranteed a minimum of 24 degrees from Easter until November, but regularly reaches temperatures of 30 degrees.

Guests can enjoy 3 terraces;

1. A large balcony overlooking the golf course which is wonderful for the morning sun. This area has patio furniture for dining, and also 2 swing hammocks and a swing seat for completely relaxing and watching the birds

2. Terracing around the pool with a large dining table under a covered terrace and plenty of sun loungers. The table tennis is situated here also.

3. Terracing outside the Yellow room and kitchen where the Wendy House and sandpit are situated in a shady area which is perfect for the youngsters to play out of the sun

There is a 1 acre upper garden next to the pool and house. This area is good for ball games and has a supersize trampoline and a large bike shed with lots of new bikes and helmets in 3 sizes. This upper garden has wonderful views over plum orchards, vines and the golf course. It also has an area with seating at the far end where there are views onto the golf course and across the horse field.

The large lower garden lies alongside the golf course and has beautiful views down the valley. This is an incredible area to watch the sun set on the circular seating around the covered well.

There are numerous Hamleys board games, books and hundreds of DVDS in the house.

The farmhouse has an open plan sitting room and dining room. Both living room are full of character with the original stone walls, chestnut beams and floors.

Located within the sitting room is an entertainment area which includes a 42in HD plasma TV connected to a DVD and VCR. French doors lead from the sitting room onto the large balcony. The real fire is a great feature in the sitting room for cosy, romantic evenings. There are views from the sitting room across orchards and down the valley.

The dining area has a large dining table.

The kitchen leads from the dining room. The kitchen has a beamed ceiling, tiled floor and oak fitted units. It also has a large dual fuel Range Master oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and large fridge/freezer. The dining area in the kitchen can seat 6. The kitchen is fully equipped to ensure your meal prep can be enjoyed.

The kitchen opens through double French doors, onto a small tiled terrace, which then leads onto the main pool terrace. The main pool terrace has Weber charcoal and gas BBQ's - enjoy the views whilst having a BBQ. Next to the BBQs is a covered terrace with Kettler tables and chairs. This faces west and is a favourite place for guests to watch the sun set.

The farmhouse has 4 en suite bedrooms suites;

GROUND FLOOR

Lavender Suite - French doors lead to the balcony and beautiful views. Guests in this bedroom suite love having their early morning coffee on the balcony. This room also has a window overlooking the pool. There is an En suite shower room with large walk in shower, flat screen TV, day sofa which can convert to a single bed, air con, super king oak bed.

Yellow Suite - This is a cool room at the back of the house, with a large en suite bathroom with traditional French bath and large walk in shower and flat screen TV, super king bed which can convert to 2 singles

FIRST FLOOR

Rose Suite - This suite has views overlooking the valley and an en suite shower room with large walk in shower, flat screen TV, sofa which can convert to a single bed, air con, super king brass bed

Green Suite - This suite has views over looking the valley, and an en suite shower room, Flat screen TV, air con, twin beds which can convert to a super king

All bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryers, and all beds have high quality mattresses.

Each guest is provided with a pool towel and 2 bathroom towels. There are Luxury African nets over all master beds.

Super king beds have 2 synthetic and 2 feather pillows, single beds have a synthetic pillow.

All wardrobes have a good selection of hangers for both shirts and trousers

About Tracey Jones

I live in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England with my husband Adi and golden retriever Holly. We both grew up in Wiltshire and raised our family here too. We have a daughter and son, who both live abroad. We enjoy living in England but also visiting them often. Adi works as self employed in the Finance sector and I look after Acabanes and La Grange; the bookings, the website and also I am chief painter and decorator and gardener! In the 16 years since we had our first letting season I have been on a steep learning curve on how to get building work completed on time and problem solving for guests when things unexpectedly go wrong! Why Tracey Jones chose Perigord Pourpre

After the success of our first holiday property www.acabanes.co.uk 10 minutes away, we decided to look for a second farmhouse locally. We decided to buy La Grange as the location was perfect, overlooking the golf course, www.vigier.com and on the edge of a hamlet. It is also a beautiful house with lots of character.

What makes this villa unique

Beautiful location over looking Chateau Vigiers golf course, which also has a Michelin Star restaurant and is only a short walk away. Lots of wildlife in the area. Good area for cycling, dog walking and bird spotting on quiet lanes and through the vines. Only 20 mins from Bergerac airport.

Excellent property in beautiful country area,

Although it was low season everything was excellent. Clean, tidy, great facilities and well heated. There is a local golf course and owners provide sets of clubs to use if required. Would highly recommend. Must come back in the summer time and use the pool !!

Excellent villa, very high standards

Excellent villa, great accommodation with all the extras you could ever need. Fantastic pool, and great location. Only 20 mins from Bergerac airport. Great choice of local restaurants and vineyards to sample. Owners are extremely helpful and accommodating, no issues at all. Highly recommended, Thanks for the wine and a very relaxing holiday

Loved Dordogne, nice location to explore from

If you like to be away from the bustle of a city or even a town this is a good location. This property is comfortable, reasonably well appointed with a very nice heated pool, though the pool heater is annoyingly close to the beautiful terrace and outside dining area. Golf at Vigiers and biking are really worthwhile here. We and our many guests enjoyed our stay and Tracey was always helpful and responsive. We particularly appreciated her reference of Chris of Minibus47 for tours and taxiing to the airport. We chose France as a destination to be immersed in the french culture and language, so we where a bit surprised by the British experience for service staff and cable channels, great if you want to find Britain in Dordogne.

I am also pleased you appreciated the taxi and guided tours recommendation. I am sorry, but I did not realise that you would have preferred a French chef and French cleaning staff. My mistake, as we have guests from all over the world, with their common language being English, which is why English staff are requested for ease during their holiday. However, we also have many French guests and also have a French chef and cleaning ladies for these guests. French staff for your next visit, no problem at all! Tracey

Perfect stay

From the moment we approached the property, past a myriad vineyards, and parked up outside the lovely house, we knew we were going to absolutely love it. We've stayed in many rentals, both in Europe and in the USA - and this property was the best equipped and most comfortable by far. We felt completely at home throughout our stay and marvelled at the care and attention given to enhance our stay - from the shopping done for us, to the provision of plenty of English plug sockets via extension leads. We even found wine bottle stoppers in the drawer! The beds were deliciously comfortable - the bathrooms contemporary and the whole place was as clean as a whistle. We appreciated having British TV, especially with Euro 2016 to watch with English commentaries. The pool was an absolute delight to cool off in and relax. We enjoyed watching the golfers teeing off (not always very well!) and listening to the blackbirds chirping in the trees, and the frogs croaking in the distance. We talked to the little lizards (as you do). We had wonderful weather - a bit of a heat wave - only marred on the Friday after the Brexit vote dampened our spirits and dampened the ground with a thunder shower or two. Lastly, but not least, Tracey was an absolute joy to work with! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your idyll!

Wonderful Luxury Villa where pets are allowed.

It is so rare to find a Luxury Villa like La Grange where you are allowed to take your pets, We have stayed here several times even before we had a dog to take on holiday .Perfect location, overlooking Chateau du Vigier golf course,with lovely walks, quiet roads for cycling ,villages and their markets to visit, vineyards for wine tasting, and restaurants, all in the vicinity.Thats if you can tear yourself away from La Grange ! The lovely heated pool and surrounding terraces and gardens makes one want to just relax ! Inside is equipped to a very high standard also.

This luxury villa farmhouse is located adjacent to Chateau des Vigiers www.vigiers.com, with views over the fairways. It is situated in South West France, in a lovely area of the Western Dordogne, close to the towns of Bergerac, Duras and Eymet and one hour drive east of Bordeaux. Six hours driving time of St Malo port. The nearest large town is Bergerac, twenty minutes north east of the house. Arcachon and the Atlantic coast is 90 mins.

It is situated in a small hamlet of 8 houses, and a 3 minute walk to a another hamlet, with a sports field, volleyball net and football goals.

The large village of Siguoles is a 15 minute drive and has all the amenities of a typical French village including a restaurant,supermarket; boulangerie; charcuterie; tabac; bank; cafe; pharmacy.

St Foy la Grande is the nearest small town, an 8 minute drive with a wonderful Saturday market. St Foy is a typical French market town and a pleasure to visit. The house is located in an area of vineyards and gently rolling wooded hills.

Golf: The farmhouse is wonderfully placed for a golfing holiday. There are several courses to choose from and Chateau Vigiers is adjacent to the house, and a 2 minute drive. Discounted golf rounds have been negotiated for our guests. Please contact the owner, Tracey Jones for any required golf information. Tee times can be booked in advance by owner. There are trolley bags and trolleys at the property for the guests use. There are many other golf courses in the area - please contact owner for full information on location and prices.
