Incredible views

  • 5 of 5

My family of four had a wonderful stay last summer. The house was very clean and was equipped with everything we needed. So quiet, the only noise came from the sandhill cranes that landed in front of the deck! My 15 year old son loved the "man cave" on the lower floor, my 16 year son was very comfortable in the bedroom upstairs. The master bedroom was spacious. Homer has a lot to offer. We enjoyed Bishop's Beach at low tide, walking the Homer Spit, the Islands and Ocean Center and a day-long kayak trip in Kachemak Bay, where we saw sea otters, seals, bald eagles, and really cool jelly fish. The views from the house are incredible. (A sunset view is still my screen saver on my laptop!) Usually when we are on vacation, I like eating in for breakfast and going out for dinner. But the view was so gorgeous from the living room and deck that we ate in every night, so that we could just sit on the deck with a glass of wine, watch the sunset and enjoy! If we ever make it back to Homer, this is where we all want to stay.

Loved this house and location

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed this wonderful home so much. The view was terrific, and the house was so comfortable. The place was immaculate. We didn't think Homer would offer so much (we were pleasantly surprised), but with this house, we could have stayed a week. Your photo gallery on the wall was wonderful. We wished we could have visited with you and learned "your story."

Wonderful Homer

  • 5 of 5

Stayed in Homer for 3 nights in June. What a fabulous place! The home was beautiful, very clean and roomy. My husband, myself, and our 2 kids ( 23 and 14 ) stayed in complete comfort. The views were spectacular and the outside area included an outdoor fire pit. Can't say enough about the accommodations. The property owner gave us privacy but also offered suggestions of places to go. It was such a special place that my husband asked if they would be interested in selling it :). Thank you Maggie for a memory that will stay with our family for a long time. Didn't even mention the beautiful area of Homer. My favorite place in the two week trip!!!

We (3 couples) had a wonderful stay at Maggie's home. As others have said, it has a beautiful view (which changes depending on the clouds), is clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped.

Relaxing Homer House

  • 4 of 5

We rented this house with two other couples for a local wedding. We had plenty of room and enjoyed a great view when weather permitted. The valley to the right of the deck was amazingly beautiful w/ the fireweed in its red foliage.

The kitchen was well stocked for us to do a lot of our own cooking and some entertaining. Basically everything we needed. The living room area was comfortable. One recommendation would be a covered area for grilling...those of us who are serious will grill in any weather! And I could have used better reading light in the bedroom.

This house was reasonably close to town and worth the drive up the hill for the potential of seeing the mountains and the bay.

It is not wheel chair accessible and anyone with walking difficulty would be challenged to get upstairs but a family with young kids would do just fine.

Maggie was good to work with, easy to contact and very responsive to emails/calls. The dog came to visit and was very sweet.

I would recommend this place to any traveler looking for a comfortable stay.
