Why Maggie Burns chose Kenai Peninsula

We moved to Homer 30 years ago and fell in love with the beauty and friendliness of the people. We still feel that way today and welcome people into our home to experience the alaskan way.

What makes this house unique

We built our house from the ground up. We love our expansive views and privacy.

Fantastic home near Homer

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in many Home Away properties, but I must say this was one of the best. From the immaculate home to the fantastic views and location, this property is second to none. I was also pleased with how much there was to do in and around Homer. I would suggest the Islands and Oceans visitor center, a trip to Kachemak state park for hiking and the small but informative Pratt museum. Stay away from restaurants on the spit. Way over priced. I would highly recommend this lovely home in its quiet setting for your stay in Homer.

We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean overlooking brilliant fireweed from windows and wrap-around deck. Well designed kitchen, outdoor grill, and fire pit for smores. Comfortable beds, great pictures to look at of hosts previous world adventures. Wonderful home.

Beautiful home, tastefully decorated with international style. Fully equipped spacious kitchen. Wonderful views. We enjoyed barbecuing our halibut on the deck. The view from the deck and rooms is amazing. Maggie was gracious and available. Will definitely stay there again when we return to Homer.

All you could ever want in a Homer rental!!!

  • 5 of 5

This rental has everything - an amazing view, day or night, mountains, water, greenery; beautifully decorated in every room and all amenities anyone could want (my son and I especially appreciated the very well-equipped kitchen since we both like to cook); room-darkening shades in the bedrooms were a must in the middle of June; laundry facilities, wireless web, TV's in several rooms. There was nothing we needed that was not there during our entire stay. The owner/hostess was immediately responsive if you had any questions. Maggie was especially helpful with suggestions of activities to do in the area and with restaurant suggestions, hiking suggestions, water taxi to the state park and fishing in "the hole." And, best of all, the rental fee was market priced! We were two, but the house could easily sleep 6-8. I recommend it without reservation!!!

Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven on Earth.

  • 5 of 5

Prior to arriving at Heather View, in Homer, Alaska we had been in a different hotel every night for 13 consecutive nights and were ready for a few days and nights of staying put. When we arrived at Heather View it was positively breathtaking to see the vista before us, and especially the quiet, blissful peace and quiet, you can only find in a single residence located in a perfect area. The home was immaculate, nicely furnished with comfortable sitting areas that looked out to Homer Spit and the mountains beyond. The two bedrooms on the second level were just perfect, made up with quality linens that contributed to a perfect night's sleep on mattresses that were oh so comfortable. On the bottom level of the house was a very large lounge area with a huge flat screen television and plenty of comfortable seating, as well as a washer and dryer for use which is perfect for travelers to be able to do laundry where you are staying.

The ability to be in a lovely home with magnificent views and all of the amenities one could ask for makes a vacation rise to another level of satisfaction. After a long day of sightseeing or fishing it is wonderful to go back to the house and relax while you prepare a meal in the spectacular kitchen. Maggie, the home owner, made us feel welcome and was available when required to answer questions or offer assistance.

We are looking forward to coming back to this little piece of heaven on Earth soon. Thank you Maggie.
