We had a great time! Thank you for sharing your home. Everything was perfect. We watched for the turtles (just outside) to hatch but didnt happen while we were here. Planning to return next year!

Sub-par (Kinda gross) Oceanfront

  • 2 of 5

With a new infant time escaped us so this review is quite delayed, but issues were reported in real time. Unfortunately, no real-time fixes. Rented due to the Oceanfront location and the ability to accommodate our 8 adults + infant we were super excited for this house. Sadly, the images do not reflect the shoddy craftsmanship (kitchen flooring stopped short of the peninsula due to some poor measuring, perhaps. Bathrooms were full of rusty metal preventing hanging of bathing suits to dry, damaged wood laminate flooring, and fixtures not attached to the wall. Bedrooms held soup pots collecting condensation and drywall from around the ceiling vents. In the case of one bedroom the bunk bed mattress was catching the condensation so we were glad that we did not need use of it.) Overall, we did not get what we paid for with regards to cleanliness and craftsmanship. It was an environment where your mom would say "no bare feet!" The "in the ocean" proximity was pretty cool and allowed me, as a new mom, to dip in the ocean while Grandma watched the baby on the deck. Use of the deck was limited due to the lack of any wind buffer. We also had inconsistent internet availability.

I suggest you proceed with caution with this rental. Hopefully, the reports of flooring replaced and ventilation fixes are accurate. There is no indication that the owner aims to provide a quality rental for the price.

Sleeping in the Ocean Home

  • 5 of 5

Loved the layout of this beach front home. Two bedrooms had access to the ocean front balcony with beautiful breathtaking views, living/dining/kitchen combo with comfortable furniture and the kitchen was very well-stocked with great appliances, utensils and cookware. We had 4 adults, and 2 grandchildren who loved the bunk rooms. We were able to walk or bike ride to grocery store, gift shops and pier. Who knew it would be nice enough to play outdoors in February, so it was a pleasant surprise to find floats and a kite for the kids to play with. We enjoyed a cookout using the grill provided and purchased local seafood from The Sarah Jane ship at Dockside. We enjoyed listening to the ocean every night, and the grandchildren said they always want to stay here. Thanks for the memories!

TRUE BEACH HOUSE

  • 5 of 5

When we walked into the house I couldn't believe the amazing view. Loved the beautiful, comfy living room furniture and the kitchen was very well-stocked (it even had oyster knives). It was so nice to be in a true Beachhouse and we so enjoyed listening to the ocean every night.

Great for pet owners!

  • 4 of 5

This place definitely needs some work but that's fine with me because we are allowed to take our dogs for a very reasonable fee! It's also very comfortable and clean enough. The awesome views and great location make it all a very good deal. We will definitely be back!!

Endless Summer continues to be Endless Nightmare

  • 1 of 5

August 1 – August 8, 2015 Rental

After 20+ hour drive, arrived (Endless Summer VRBO #442093) South Carolina to flooded driveway, broken ceiling fans along with full box spring, leaking a/c vents w/mold, bathroom sink drainage problem (left side as you face ocean), refrigerator barely cold, lighting fixture over counter not working (even Derrick from maintenance couldn't figure out what was wrong with lighting), shower curtain old and stained, bedspreads and mattress covers unlaundered and lobster pots catching the leaking water from a/vents and/or rain. This property did not resemble the online pictures as newly painted and furnished. It was apparent the leaks had been a long-standing problem as the floors were darkly water stained. Took Michelle Vulles, KWI, LLC agent until 8/4 to respond to email. Owner, who shall remain nameless due to possible legal action, has yet to respond to series of emails from this renter. Property promoted as sleeping 12 however, one bunk bed and one full bed unusable reducing sleeping to 8 (right rear bedroom as you face ocean). Prior to arriving, Michelle @ KWI, LLC was questioned regarding review by previous renter on shortage of deck chairs. Assured by agent new chairs supplied only to arrive and find five old deck chairs. House sleeps 12, only 8 beds usable, only 5 deck chairs! These numbers don’t add up. Asked for 25% refund and received the following response, "Most of our reviews for this property are 5 stars and we would like to reflect that these items have been resolved and that you are getting a 25% refund for your troubles. Also, this has been a busy season and the owner of this property has been out of the county and unreachable...however, if you could please make changes to your review we would greatly appreciate it and will be watching for it before we cut a check is what the owner has requested." Unfortunately, this is not how I do business. I have pictures of property to justify this review. While the view and location are truly spectacular the accommodations were less then substandard and not worth the over $$$$spent. Property is long on neglect and disappointment and short on memories. Rent at your own risk.

AWESOME VIEW BUT HOUSE NEEDS MUCH TLC

  • 2 of 5

On first arriving at the home on Saturday evening August 1st there was the largest puddle in front of the home due to a rain storm and it looked like a lake. Thus making the curb appeal less than ideal. When walking in the front door the view is spectacular! No doubt. However, on further inspection of the home I quickly became disappointed in it's lack of care/maintainence. Granted this is a beach home and the weather will take it's toll on a beach front property but that's not my concern. The home just wasn't "clean". It appeared clean but truly wasn't. No one seemed to have wiped down cabins in the kitchen, the walls where drinks had spilled from previous visitors hadn't been wiped and cleaned. Dishes weren't clean, I'm positive the bedspreads weren't washed. There was mold on my ceiling from the AC and missing sheet rock. The vents dripped on the floor and there was a large dark spot on the wood floor, showing much time had passed without maintenance of this leak. There was a leak in the other bedroom as well with the bunk beds and full bed. The leak in that bedroom was located over the top bunk making it unusable. The full bed in this particular room squeaked so loudly that it became humorous. Come to find out the box spring was broken on that bed. When you laid on the bed you sunk into a whole the size of the Grand Canyon. That room was just unacceptable. No way to have relations! There was a total of 6 people in the home for the week. The property had a total of TWO rocking chairs on the deck and 3 very cheap plastic additional chairs and absolultely NO chairs for sitting on the beach. The fans in the bedrooms were missing pull chains so you couldn't turn off the light or change the speed of the fan. The other fan was so loud that you couldn't sleep with it on. Now, my sister did reach out to the rental company and voiced her concerns and they did send over two guys to make some repairs on day 3. That was very much appreciated. However, the manager of the rental company said she wasn't aware of the issues! How do you NOT visit your property on a regular basis to ensure it's in tip top shape. We paid TOP dollar for this ONE week and the property was NOT up to snuff. We will not return to this property and it's sad because the view was so beautiful and the water so warm. Maybe if you don't care about the quality of your stay IN the home you'll be fine with this house. Up to you but unfortunately I can't recommend it. Enjoy your vacation!

Owner's Response: KWI would like to extend a huge apology for these items and want to reassure all future renters that they have been fully taken care of. The leaking of the vents was due to a New AC unit being installed and the vents were not large enough therefore causing condensation and dripping. They have been replaced and are no longer leaking. All damaged drywall has been replaced. Broken bedframe has been replaced, all living room furniture has been updated and replaced, both bathrooms have all new tile floors. More outside seating has been added to the deck and fans have also been replaced. Again, we apology for the troubles this summer with the home, we had back to back renters for 3 months and a lot of these items could not be addressed until the slowdown season and have been.
