Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
Six of us spent a cold rainy couple days at the Anchor House and had a blast!! Stayed busy days shopping, blowing glass and weaving rugs with a local weaver. Evenings we played games, drank a little wine and soaked in the hot tub (even in the stormy rain) Was an awesome, memorable trip. We plan to make it a yearly event.
We were just so comfortable there, and the second you look out those big beautiful windows you'll be more relaxed than ever. We went after Christmas, so it was often too cold to enjoy the spacious deck, so we really appreciated sitting inside with the fire going and still getting to watch the waves. The outside stairs wasn't too big of a deal with us, and I loved having the laundry room. The yard was actually quite bigger than it looked and our kids and dogs burned a lot of energy just exploring there :). Beach access was questionable, you really have to climb down a rocky hill, so it's not something my mom got to do, but our kids (6 & 8) and dogs had no problem. The rest of the time it was raining so we went to the public beach access for better safety. But not only was the house great, the driveway was big enough to turn around and had a carport, making it sooooo much easier to get in and out. It got icy when we were there and not having to back down the drive like we saw other people do at other houses was such a blessing. All in all a wonderful and relaxing vacation, house was in a perfect location to get to anything. We explored all over to Tillamook to the OR aquarium, so there's a lot to keep busy besides the beaches.
We we surprised how close we were to the ocean! We could hear the waves crashing in from the house. The sunsets were beautiful from inside or out. We liked how the house is set up for privacy. You can sit inside or out and never really see anyone, beyond peekaboo of houses or driveways. You do have quite a walk down to the beach and a steep walk back up but it is on a road. The rock steps may be a little tricky for unsteady feet(stay to the right) but easy beach access is down the road in either direction. The hot tub was a wonderful treat after a cold walk on the beach. We hopped in a couple times a day!
We brought our dog along. He liked the set up for the upper yard and the gate to lower yard. It was nice to have it fenced for him to explore safely and be able to do his business.
The only drawback is the house is set up on 2 levels. You have to access the downstairs from outside stairs. We were going to use the king bed downstairs but chose to just use the upper queen bed for convenience and amazing views. Lower house looks comfy but no ocean view. Older kids or couples traveling together would be best for this house. For the 2 of us, we will just rent the top house next time. I can't wait until next time!!
We enjoyed our stay here very much and can't wait to go back. It was perfect for our family and our little dog. Close enough to town but yet tucked away that we felt secluded too.
I took my family aged from 3 months to forty, seven in all and had a great time during thanksgiving.
