Château Banquet is renowned for being one of the nicest and best located apartment houses in Geneva whose afluent owners enjoy a central location close to the banking quarters and shopping main streets, safety in a high quality building, and unique view over the Lake of Geneva and the French and Swiss alps.
I stayed at Mark's place for three weeks whilst in Geneva for work at the Palais des Nations (UNOG). Mark's place is very elegant, clean and spacious, with a breath taking view of the Mont Blanc, Lake Geneva and other interesting views of Geneva city. Access to public transportation (bus/tram) is just a minute walk away. The convenience of getting to and from work made Mark's place even more of the perfect choice for me.
As far as the room is concern, there is private access to the en-suite room and laundry service was readily available a few stairs above Marc's penthouse apartment. TV, DVD/CD player, high speed wireless internet, closet space and tranquility, comes with the room. Mark respect for privacy was well appreciated and his recommendations on places to go and things to do made my getting-around rather simple.
Thank you Mark for your very warm and friendly hospitality and hope others make your place their first choice when on business or pleasure in Geneva, especially those who needs easy access to one of the many Int'l organizations nearby.
I had to go to Geneva for a conference with only a couple weeks warning. I've been traveling a lot and was getting sick of the sterility of many hotels so, since I was going for 5 days, decided on an apartment.
And am I ever glad I did.
Not only was the apartment just a couple of tram stops from the conference spot, but it was a very large, comfortable, beautifully appointed and well-equipped apartment shared with Mark, the owner. The bedroom looks west over the city and has a very comfortable bed, antique desk, separate en-suite bathroom and it's own tv. Lots of closet space, too. To the east, the penthouse apartment has stunning views of Lake Geneva, Mont Blanc the hills behind the old city. The kitchen is large and well equipped and, since both of us like to cook, was a great place to chat about recipes, food choices and specialties. But for me, there was an added bonus -- his gentle and loving Belgian Spaniel -- Bill
While undecided what I should do to overcome jet lag, Mark invited me to take a walk with him and Bill. This was a real treat as I would never have had a chance on my own to explore the vineyards to the northwest of Geneva. I also learned a fair bit more about wine and vineyards, since Mark has extensive experience in that field.
The welcome by Mark was matched by Bill. Unlike when staying in a hotel, I looked forward to coming 'home' because I knew Bill would be there to keep me company when the owner had to leave for a couple of days. Despite being a total stranger, Bill adopted me as family. I never once heard him bark or growl. He was lovely.
I don't always write reviews, except if the place is really bad or exceptionally good. This was probably the most welcoming place I've ever stayed in. Wonderful chats with the owner, comfortable apartment, convenient location. And, of course, Bill.
I will definitely be back.
Impeccable perfectly describes all aspects of our 8 night stay with Mark.
The location is convenient for city public transportation and the train station, and the apartment building is
snuggled in a beautiful, private park. The view from the balcony is stunning, Lac Leman before your eyes.
All the interior spaces are elegant and meticulously maintained and designed with an expert eye and attention
to details. The wall paper in the dining room is sight to behold in itself, as well as the hallway sconces and the living room. Our bedroom and private bathroom had the same attention to details. Mark provided on spot guidance and advice pertaining to touring the city and the region.
In addition to all the sophistication and charm already mentioned, then there is Bill, the best little Spaniel that we have ever met. He is a sweet, happy guy who greets you with exuberance and affection each time upon return.
We will hold tender memories of Mark and Bill, it was all impeccable.
My husband and I only stayed two nights - but were so lucky to find such a great place to stay.
The pictures show the room exactly the way it is - nicely furnished - a balcony - and a full bath.
The aparment building is placed very nicely between two parks - so close to the local transportation
of the main street and yet so secluded. Near to UN and all the Int'l Org. Hope to visit Geneva again
before long and will be sure to book this location again.
This apartment is everything as shown in the photos: unique furniture, great art work, up-dated & modernized, and beautiful views from two balconies. Mark is a wonderful and interesting international host who made us feel very welcomed.
While my wife was at a convention, I was able to enjoy sitting on the balcony drinking coffee and eating croissants while catching up on work via the Internet. My breaks included having Bill show me his favorite places in the adjacent beautiful park alongside the lake.
We left feeling like we made a great friend and also with his owner, Mark!
Mark's apartment was clean and quiet. Mark was a very gracious host, and his small dog was playful yet quiet. The location was great - close to train, boat, and tram. I had a great stay here in Geneva.
Lively neighborhood with lots of shops, bars, restaurants for any type of foods.
