A beautiful location in a tranquil spot .
Paulo s friends who stepped in for him whilst away were the lovliest and most welcoming people you could hope to meet. They went out of their way to offer help and advice. We had dinner together in Mancinis in the town which serves fabulous food. This is a fab location to get to Pompeii Herculaneum and Vesuvius and the Reggia at Caserta- well worth a visit. The children loved the pool and we did too in addition to sitting on the veranda with a glass looking at the medieval castle which you can walk to on the way to dinner. The villa grounds, views and location make this just the most wonderful location for a family holiday.
You’ll love Villa Conti
We (2 families with children aged 1-6yrs) have just had the most lovely, relaxing 10 days at Villa Conti. Paolo, and his friends Juls and Brian who checked us in and popped by to make sure we were ok, couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. As others have said, the villa is much better than the pictures suggest. The views all around but particularly from the pool of the mountains, are just gorgeous. Riardo is an easy walk, non touristy with a couple of great, really reasonable eating places. We did a couple of local day trips (Vairano, a local village, and Caserta Palace) but it was so hot all the kids wanted to do was play on the pool - fine by us!! The house has everything you need for total relaxation (but be prepared for mozzies in the evening) and Paolo soon sorted us a cot when we requested one. Just lovely and highly recommend. Thanks Paolo, Juls and Brian - hope to see you again soon! 🙂
Great location with so much to see and do
Villa Conti was lovely and the perfect location for us to relax but also explore the region. So much to see and do - both locally and also further afield down to Naples and the Amalfi coast. Lots of Roman history at Teano and Santa Maria Capua Vetere. The amazing Reggia di Caserta. Beautiful hilltop villages like Casertavecchia and Sant' Agata de' Goti. Hidden gems like the Norman castle at Statigliano. And that's before you even think about Herculaneum, Pompei and Vesuveus. Great place to ride a bike too - some very tough climbs. Lovely views from the villa during downtime and cooling off in the pool was a relief with the tempature well into the 30s.
Beautiful villa with an amazing backdrop
Our stay at villa Conti was everything we hoped for, after reading the description and the reviews . We settled in so quickly because Paulo the owner, was so incredibly helpful , above and beyond his obligations, i.e. really helped with a problem of picking up our hire car, supplying some of his wine for our approval, it was fantastic.
The villa really is gorgeous , with views to match of the surrounding countryside with it's sweeping hills , adjacent vinyard, and Riardo with it's castle in the near distance, fairytale like,
We really will be returning , nice memories for the winter to keep us warm. , Thank you Paulo
A wonderful week in a perfect location
We had a fantastic week in Villa Conti, and went home very happy but exhausted! There is just so much to do and see - its very hard to stop and relax! The house is great - we were given a very warm welcome by Paolo who gave us a guided tour, explained everything, and donated some bottles to us from his extensive wine cellar, with wine made from his own grapes. The house was clean and roomy with the lovely addition of a balcony running around the top of the upstairs section, leading off some of the rooms. It was extremely hot when we were there, so we made good use of the beautiful sparkling pool, sitting in the extensive gardens. Its very pleasant to lie in the pool and have a wonderful view of the mountains all around. The house is in a perfect location - remote enough to be quiet, but only a short walk takes you down in to the small town of Riardo which has a number of cafes, pizza places and grocery shops. There is a supermarket about 1 km away. In the short week that we were there, we visited Naples, Pompeii, drove along the Amalfi coast, dipping in to the crystal clear waters there and visiting some of the little towns along the way. We visited the amazing Monte Cassino and some of the war cemetries, as well as exploring some of the villages scattered amongst the slopes of the surrounding mountains. The sea is nearby and we found some beautiful sandy beaches. Basically there is something for everyone here - and we didn't scratch the surface - we will have to return!!! Thank you very much Paolo for your kindness and generosity and your delicious wine.
beautiful, peaceful oasis
We spent a magical week at the beautiful Villa Conti with our four teenage children The photos really do not do it justice; it was a beautiful, peaceful oasis and it was hard to tear ourselves away from the garden, pool and glorious view of Riardo castle in order to go sightseeing! The villa is well equipped and beautifully clean, beds upstairs are very comfortable and the garden is well lit to sit out at night looking at the stars and listening to the cicadas; we made good use of the pizza oven and bbq! Paulo, the owner was fantastic - when our travel plans changed at the last minute he went out of his way to ensure we could get into the villa at a time that suited us and he and his wife Eleanora were charming and friendly from booking throught to deposit refund. We will definitely be returning if we can!
The historic town of Riardo is situated in the Province of Caserta in the Italian region of Campania, located about 50 km. north of Naples and about 25 km. north of Caserta. Its population is about 2,500. Riardo is particularly famous for two things: its internationally acclaimed mineral waters, called Ferrarelle and Sant' Agata, and it's medieval Castle that rises up on a hill in the centre of the town, dominating the beautiful landscape. The town rises to about 150 metres above sea level, so in the summer it avoids suffering from sweltering heat, whilst at the same time enjoying temperature that exceed 30 centigrade.
