Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath. Excellent location. Sleeps up to 6 adults.

DEC. 2018 & JAN. 2019 HAVE JUST BECOME AVAILABLE!!

Please contact me if you any questions at all about the property - use the link on the right panel. I look forward to hearing from you.

Please note:

1. This property is a no-smoking & no-pets property.

2. In accordance with our HOA guidelines, this property is only available for rental terms of 1 month or longer.

We're excited to offer our charming 3 Bedroom get-away home for short-term rental. We've just given the home a fresh look with new paint throughout, new carpet, and new living room floor. We love coming out for our little get-aways and know you will too!

Kingswood Parke is one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas of Surprise. Surprise has everything you need for a get-away stay, including shopping, restaurants, and activities. Surprise Stadium is just over a mile from our place, and is home to the Royals and Rangers spring training. Nearby areas also boast of other baseball spring training fields, and of course sports complexes for the AZ Cardinals and PHX Suns. Various 'Sun City' locations are just minutes away.

In Surprise, you're close enough to venture out to Phoenix ... or you're self contained enough to stay close to home.

When you arrive to your get-away, you enter this two-story home into a large open living room with high cathedral ceiling. It flows into the dining and kitchen areas. The kitchen is large, loaded with counter space and cabinets, and fully equipped. There is also a clothes washer and dryer in the laundry area off the kitchen.

The three bedrooms are all upstairs and can sleep six adults comfortably. The Master Bedroom has a firm cal-king bed, private bathroom with double sink and huge walk-in closet. It also has a sitting area that looks out over a school playground and beautiful park behind the house.

Bedroom 2 has a plush queen bed. Bedroom 3 is set as a relaxing area for watching movies (dvd & vhs equipped) or reading. It has a trundle bed (2 twin mattresses) that easily sleeps two adults.

The 2nd bathroom is in the upstairs hallway and serves Bedrooms 2 & 3. It has tub and shower. Downstairs, you'll find another half bath between the kitchen and the living room.

If additional sleep space is needed, we also have available an auto-inflate queen air mattress - but please note that the home really sleeps FIVE - SIX comfortably.

Just outside the back sliding door you'll find a large and inviting covered concrete patio complete with BBQ grill (we have both charcoal and propane grills) and a patio table set seating six. The yard is fully landscaped and adds greatly to the relaxing and peaceful retreat-like feel of the home. Some guests tell us they spend more time there than anywhere else! Since there are no homes directly behind ours, the backyard offers a good deal of privacy. We also have a concrete circle in the back and a portable fire pit for those cool evenings you want to unwind outside around a fire.

In the living room you'll find a large screen HDTV with cable/satellite programming. The master bedroom also has a 32' wall-mounted TV you can fall asleep to.

PLEASE NOTE: We have JUST one TV receiver that feeds both TV's (living room and master bedroom) so the programming is identical on both. You'll just need to make sure you have the receiver remote in whichever room you want to control the programming from.

Also, in bedroom #2, there is a 32" TV with 40+ channels of digital "over-the-air" antenna programming, including most local channels.

There is also a fireplace in the living room which, due to regular PHX area 'do not burn' ordinances, we currently have set up as a decorative area. If you'd like to actually burn wood or presto logs, let us know and we'll need to confirm whether it's allowed at the time of your stay and if so, we'll include that in the contract.

This home has everything you'll need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in the Sunshine State.

Please note that this is a non-smoking and no-pets home. Also keep in mind that the bedrooms are all upstairs in the event you have limited mobility issues.

Thanks for checking out our home. We invite you to contact us with any questions.

About Michael 'Mick' Catron

Mick & Jan live in California and bought this home in 2011 as a 'get-away-when-we-can' place to unwind and relax, as well as a future retirement home.

Since purchasing it, we have tried to come out when we can to enjoy and spruce up the place some. We have fallen in love with the area. We now have good friends living in the general area and look forward to staying in Surprise when we can ... which isn't often enough! So in the meantime, we make the place available to you when we're not able to sneak away.

We usually run pretty hectic lives and wanted a tranquil place to unwind and get renewed. That's what this home has become for us.

Michael 'Mick' Catron purchased this house in 2011

Why Michael 'Mick' Catron chose Kingswood Parke

When we started looking for a 2nd home in the PHX area, we checked out several communities. Surprise immediately became our favorite because of it's great location. It's close enough to PHX, but far enough away to not feel like you're in a bustling city. After we bought, we found that Surprise was listed as one of the safest cities in the country. Another cool feature.

We looked at over 30 properties before we bought. This property, by far, was our favorite. We loved the general area, the incredible and well-kept beauty of the Kingswood Parke area specifically, and this home in particular. We still do!

What makes this house unique

The main factors that made this home our favorite are: location, tranquil and friendly neighborhood, no home behind ours, large and high living room with an open feel for spreading out or entertaining, BIG kitchen with lots of counter space and cabinets, beautiful and peaceful outdoor back patio and yard area.

Amazing people to work with, Great Place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We were so blessed to stay at this beautiful rental. We need a place to stay in between moving houses & Mick was so nice to work with us. We loved it. We have 4 kids & the park was so nice for them to play & see the ducks. Everything was clean & accommodated all of us. The kitchen was equipped nicely so we could cook for our family. Thank you Mick for helping us & letting us enjoy your beautiful home in a beautiful location.

It’s our home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

Once again we enjoyed our stay at “our home” away from home. This was our fifth year and we keep coming back every year. It’s an excellent location in Surprise just minutes away from the Surprise lake, Rangers ballpark, and public library. It’s near great restaurants, grocery stores, and White Tank Mountain Regional Park. The house is neat, clean and very welcoming and The owner Mick is right there by phone to answer questions. My two daughters’ families look forward to a week of sun, relaxation, and play. While here, we take annual visits to the Wild Animal Safari Park, and Desert Botanical Gardens, and Spring Training parks. We saw three games this year.

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!

Our first experience with VRBO was super! Good site info, easy booking/payment, and a great property (and owner!) made our stay so satisfying that we will certainly use VRBO again!

Mick (the house owner) was so helpful and cooperative right from the start that I knew we'd picked a winner. He gave us tips, information, friendship, and his trust! The very clean house was nicely decorated and stocked with basics; everything was as described; the master bedroom bed was comfortable with good support; the walk-in closet gave us ample storage in the mstrbdrm.

What a wonderful surprise to find the home decorated for Christmas, including a small tree, when we arrived on Dec. 23rd. Very welcoming and heart-warming! It certainly added to our family's celebration! Oh, and the "welcome basket" filled with goodies was a nice gesture too.

You just can't do better than renting from Mick if there are any openings!

Our Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

My family enjoyed our stay for the fourth year in a row. There's so many things to like. The house is roomy, and very comfortable. The backyard, which is nicely landscaped, became a focal point for watching my grandkids play. It was fun to relax outside on the patio to read or watch the birds. We often walked to the nearby park so the kids could play on the playground equipment.

Being a baseball fan, My wife and I watched the Rangers work out at nearby Surprise stadium. We made numerous trips to Glendale to watch the White Sox. Being its my favorite team, I collected many autographs over the years. This year we attended 3 games, including the game at Mesa between the Cubs and White Sox. It ended in a 5 to 5 tie.

Another favorite were our trips to the Maricopa County Regional Parks for hiking and sightseeing, especially White Tank Mountains and Cave Creek Regional Parks. There's so much to do in the area, too numerous to mention in a short review.. Our vacation home was our base to explore the area from Sedona up north to Tucson down South.

We love the house and location; and highly recommend you stay except for February. That's our month!

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

I echo my son Chris' review - my husband and I were so impressed with this lovely home! It was our first experience with VRBO's and I am sold. Such a warm and friendly place to share with my children and their families; my young grandson really had fun in the yard and the parks nearby. Loved the kitchen - anything we thought we needed was in this house. Just a short drive to Sun City West to visit my mom and brother and they enjoyed visiting with us in our temporary home. Mick, the owner, communicated such easy directions to my son that our late evening arrivals got us in the door without any problems. We really liked the door lock as opposed to getting a key so all 6 of us could come and go easily. Thanks so much Mick for allowing us the opportunity to share this lovely home with our family! Merry Christmas!

The Heritage House is the way to go!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had the pleasure of spending the Thanksgiving holiday at the Heritage House in Surprise, and we could not have been happier. We were out visiting my Grandmother and the last thing I wanted to do was stay in a hotel. I have stayed in many VRBO's but the idea was a foreign concept for my parents, but after staying at the Heritage House they have seen the light!

The house is very inviting; from the open family room, to the large kitchen (we had 10 family members at the table) we were able to spend a lot of time together. The rooms were comfortable and they even removed a futon and put in a twin bed with a trundle to accommodate my brother and his son.

The yard was quite the bonus as well. I have spent a lot of time in the area since 1981 and was expecting rocks and cactus when I arrived, boy was I wrong. The artificial grass was very nice and it provided an excellent location for my yoga practice. Being right next to a park with a playground was also an added bonus, we used it to keep my 4 year old nephew occupied; of course by "occupied" I mean that we used it to wear him out.

I would absolutely, positively, without a doubt recommend this house for any travelers. There is not a single thing that the house did not have that we needed. This may even be the best VRBO I have stayed in; I just hope it is open for me the next time I need it.

Thanks Mick!
