A great beach experience

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Topsail Island and this house just fell in my lap while researching VRBO. I am so glad that it did. It was an amazing place to stay. The house is right on the sound and it is gorgeous and serene back there. We rented kayaks from 50 South and explored the sound several times. My husband went fishing for redfish and had a successful trip. My boys (16 and 11) enjoyed kayaking and going to the beach. The beach is less than a 3 minute easy walk from the house. I am glad we stayed sound-side instead of on the ocean. Joe (the owner) was extremely nice and accommodating. We cannot wait to return. This was a real treasure find.

Great place, friendly and helpful owners

  • 5 of 5

We had a great weekend my wife and I and our two dogs. Very clean, all furnished and equipped. Joe was very friendly and accommodating and did not have inconvenience with our dogs. Nice short walk to the beach. There's an elevator to the main house which was great since our oldest dog cannot climb stairs anymore.

Overall a great experience in nice comfy house. Can't wait to come back.

perfect home

  • 5 of 5

The owners were extremely nice and the house was well maintained with great views of the sound. It was only a 3 min walk to the beach and the street was quiet and perfect for walking my dog. A taxi ride for 5 was only $9 to local restaurants. We had a great time. Thanks!!!!

Weekend at Waterloo

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our 5 grown sons and one girlfriend spent last weekend at Waterloo. We met the owner shortly after we arrived and he told us to let him know if there was anything we needed during our stay. We found the house to be everything it was advertised to be and more. The location directly on the sound offered glorious views and easy access to the water. One of the best features is that the kitchen was extremely well stocked with every kind of pot, pan and utensil imaginable including most of the staples. Also included were all the bed linens and towels, which was a real bonus. On Saturday when we asked if we could borrow fishing rods, he rigged them and had them ready before we got back from the store with bait. In addition, he let us raid his crab pots and we cooked up 8 or 10 crabs for dinner. All in all it was a delightful weekend and one we hope to repeat in this oasis very soon.

Cozy and quint

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. 3 couples fit very comfortably in the home. We fished off the pier attached to the house. There is a swing underneath the home which is amazing to sit in and watch the water way. There were dolphins swimming in the inter-coastal. The sunsets were gorgeous. The home owners are great. He was very helpful with the wifi questions. The only thing I would personally like would be TV's in the room, but that is just me. The other 2 couples could have cared less that there were no TV's in their rooms. We will go back.

Simply the best.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Waterloo twice this year. The location and the atmosphere are not to be missed. The owners are friendly and accommodating, but not intrusive. We happened to be there during part of the "nor'easter" and were given the option ahead of time to reschedule or cancel with full refund. We were having none of that and had a great time. Joe and Judy made sure that the weather had minimal effect on our stay.

Map

Topsail Island is a family beach that still has the charm not seen at many larger beach areas. Local shops and attractions are unique, not commercialized, and our beaches are not over crowded. One of the few gems left on the east coast.
