About Fred Hector

I was born and raised in the Walla Walla Valley. I work as a Lieutenant with the Walla Walla Fire Department and am also a member of the Bluewood Ski Patrol. I bought this house in 2011 with the dream to someday raise a family in it.

I met my wife, Stephanie, who is also a Walla Walla native, during the summer of 2013 when she moved home after living in Seattle for 9 years. We got married under the love arbor in the backyard in the fall of 2014. The following year, we were blessed with our sweet baby boy, Leland. One day we plan to move back into this house and raise our family.

I love the Walla Walla Valley and am excited to share the charm and beauty of my town with others which is why I decided to turn my home into a vacation rental

Walla Walla is known for having the friendliest people on earth and I hope that you feel that way while you are here. My home is your home, and if there is anything I can do to make your stay more enjoyable please do not hesitate to call. Additionally, if you are here over the winter months I would love the chance to introduce you to the backwoods skiing of Bluewood.

I hope you enjoy your stay and will return year after year.

Great house with great view

  • 5 of 5

We have been renting houses in WW since 2009. This is at least to 4th time we have rented the Mtn View Lodge in the last 3 or so years and while we have tried other places over the years, we keep coming back to this one. Great space for groups to spread out and entertain, lounge, and cook. Best of all since we travel with multiple adult couples and no kids - all the time and beds are either king or queen so no one gets stuck in a tiny bed. We have had as many as 5 couples in the house and it worked great for all.

Beautiful home, warm and welcoming host

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 12 service industry professionals spent 2 nights here in mid-October. The house was spacious enough to accommodate a large group of adults, but small enough to feel warm and inspire camaraderie. We especially enjoyed the foosball table, the fire pit, and the hot tub. The well-appointed kitchen made it easy to prepare our own meals, and we enjoyed them sitting together at the gorgeous front-room dining table (complete with spectacular sunset views!) Fred even stopped by on our second night to meet the crew, and shared a taste of some remarkably delicious homemade grappa at his custom built Firefighter themed bar. This was our team's fourth visit to Walla Walla. Staying at the Mountain View Lodge contributed greatly to it being our favorite visit yet. We will definitely try to book here again in the future. Thanks Fred!!

Great house, nice location

  • 5 of 5

This is a really nice property. Lots of room, with 7 beds and a big dining room table to accommodate a large group of people. Lots of outdoor seating as well. It's quiet and secluded, with great views in all directions. It's convenient to both Walla Walla and Milton-Freewater, and there are several south valley wineries close by.

Huge well kept home with a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay here and we love it. It is a huge home with all the professional features. Very quiet and private right in the middle of Walla Walla wine country. A beautiful setting for exploring the wine country.

Beautiful house and spectacular view of the Blue Mountains and so peaceful.

  • 5 of 5

The Ladies of the Richland Church of Christ spent a wonderful weekend retreat at the Mountain View lodge. We had a very successful weekend and thanks to Fred's swift help with lighting the outdoor fire pit we enjoyed the outdoor patio even more. Thanks Fred for the hard work you do keeping this property in such great shape. We plan on returning as soon as we can! Rita Winegardner
