I was born and raised in the Walla Walla Valley. I work as a Lieutenant with the Walla Walla Fire Department and am also a member of the Bluewood Ski Patrol. I bought this house in 2011 with the dream to someday raise a family in it.
I met my wife, Stephanie, who is also a Walla Walla native, during the summer of 2013 when she moved home after living in Seattle for 9 years. We got married under the love arbor in the backyard in the fall of 2014. The following year, we were blessed with our sweet baby boy, Leland. One day we plan to move back into this house and raise our family.
I love the Walla Walla Valley and am excited to share the charm and beauty of my town with others which is why I decided to turn my home into a vacation rental
Walla Walla is known for having the friendliest people on earth and I hope that you feel that way while you are here. My home is your home, and if there is anything I can do to make your stay more enjoyable please do not hesitate to call. Additionally, if you are here over the winter months I would love the chance to introduce you to the backwoods skiing of Bluewood.
I hope you enjoy your stay and will return year after year.
Fred Hector purchased this house in 2011
The views are Fantastic! With in a mile and a half of a dozen wineries on the south side of town.
Peaceful country living while still close to town.
We spent the weekend at Fred's place and we're absolutely thrilled with the place. Clean, comfortable, well furnished and supplied. Fred is a great host even though we never met face to face. Flexible and accommodating to our needs, he helped make a great weekend even better. Thank you Fred for allowing us to stay at your home. It was a very special weekend the whole family will always remember.
My friends and I visited for a Bachelorette Party (16 girls) and were blown away by this house, the view, location, and amenities. Each room was housed with bathrobes and the kitchen was stocked with cooking supplies. Can't tell you how many VRBO's I've gone to with 16+ people and there is nothing to cook with, not enough plates to support the number of bedroom, or store food when you're done cooking! Wineries such as North Star are in walking distance if you're up for a 1/2 mile walk and quick driving distance to Amavi, Va Piano, etc. Town is nearby but would require driving or a cab.
Can't beat this place - worked perfectly for 16 of us girls!
We stayed here this past weekend. The house was large enough for our big party of adults and children. There was enough space for the kids to play and the adults to hang out. We celebrated our friend's 40th and the table was large enough for all 15 adults to enjoy a nice dinner.
Location was close to downtown and wineries. House was very clean and it had nice little notes to remind guests on what to and what not to do. The house even had a basket with toiletries and things you can easily forget when packing. The owners were responsive and very accommodating, we arrived one day early and they were happy to accommodate us very last minute.
We would stay here again!
our group of 12 totally enjoyed our stay this weekend past. we could spread out for privacy or congregate around the huge table for a grand dinner or around the fire pit table outside . we're already discussing our plans to do again next year. thank yu owners, great job. p.s.loved the outdoor games
I stayed at the house 3/23-3/27 for a funeral and "celebration of life" with my family. The host is amazing and gracious at this home, making sure that we were well taken care of and had everything needed. We had a few people who were local to the area that also knew that host at our celebration of my grandmother. Sounds like he is just as much an important part of the community as he is a wonderful host and he's respected by all. The house was lean, linens were excellent and would cannot say enough about how nice it was.
I recently stayed at the Mountain View lodge with a group of 9. There was tons of space for everyone to have their own area's, great group spaces for hanging out and everything you would want in a kitchen. The couch is RIDICULOUS and the living room, bar, kitchen is a great space for a group to spend time in. The dinning room table is also a lot of fun as it's so long you feel like you are having a mid-evil feast. It's very private but also super close to a number of wineries. All in all it was a fantastic place to stay and I plan to go back!
Mountain View Guest House is in beautiful Walla Walla Wine Country.
