The beauty and peace of the location was the reason we bought this house. A comfortable and attractive house with plenty of antique furniture, pictures, books and even a TV which gets the main UK channels.
Lovely house is lovely setting for our annual week of rest and recuperation.
Couldn’t get more peaceful or secluded. Woken by the call of the Golden Eagle most mornings with a couple of sightings. Rural France doesn’t get much better.
What a wonderful peaceful quiet spot. We have been woken up most mornings by a flypast of swifts. We have also seen Golden Eagles soaring above. Great meal at Hotel de la Vallee in Espeyrac, some walked there and back. Simple French food. Visited Conques . Great fun at Wednesday evening market in Entraygues. Did walks locally up hill etc. Have had a great time. Another week would be good !
One of the children of the xxxx family: It is a lovely house with a lovely pool. It is a very nice house with lots of activities to do and around like canoeing, cycling, river swimming. We always see birds flying by in the evening when we are having our tea outside.
Tres jolie maison, cache magnifique. Peut etre reviendrons nous…
Beautiful house and lovely to be in.
It’s been good. What a wonderful peaceful spot. Weather has been great. Thank you for the use of your house. Local wine is very good. We have left you a dozen glasses to enjoy it in !
I wish I could take the kitchen table home…
Take a dusk walk to see the deer. On a clear night lie back on the terrace and look out for amazing shooting starts.
Relaxing, comfortable house, great pool, sunny patio, shady trees, lovely views, fantastic weather, perfect holiday !

Selves is set on a south facing hill 2 km to the medieval village of Espeyrac, which is on the pilgrim route to Santiago di Compostella. Espeyrac has a shop, bar/ restaurant. The abbey /village of Conques, a world heritage site, is 20 minutes by car and Figeac, a beautiful, medieval town, is an hour's drive. The attractive, historic local town is Entraygues sur Truyere at the confluence of the Lot and the Truyere, is 6 miles from Selves. It has all the usual amenities including a Super U, bank, restaurants etc.. There are excellent places to eat locally and the local bar / restaurant is a 20 minute walk. The views and walking are outstanding with panoramic views a short walk behind the house over the Lot and the countryside beyond. Walking, canoeing, swimming in our 11 metre pool, medieval villages and towns abound. The countryside is verdant but the Aveyron has far more annual hours of sunlight than the west of France: it is only 100 miles from the Mediterranean. The Aveyron has not changed much for the last 100 years. It is an incredibly beautiful part of France where you can walk, eat well , watch the eagles and you might even see the odd deer and enjoy the spirit-lifting views.
