We love the Evergreen Lodge. This trip was no exception. It is a five minute walk to Lionshead Village and a two minute walk to the bus stop (which will take you to any of the Vail Villages.) The kitchen was stocked so I could cook meals at home which I appreciated. Decor was nice. We had a few maintenance issues and they were addressed promptly. I would stay here again.
Fantastic location! The condo was a little dated but had all of the amenities needed for a great ski vacation.
road noise from I70 is loud. Spa/hot tub is tired (dead/droopy plants on deck) and standing water on deck. sports bar nice
Stayed for 5 days in December 2012. This unit had everything we needed. Fully stocked kitchen with plenty of glasses, plates, pots, pans, utensils, you name it. Even had a bunch of spices and little extras we didn't even consider. The unit was very clean and fully functional when we arrived, except for one broken dinner table chair (which I'm sure they will remove/replace).
It's a very short walk to the gondola; We didn't use the shuttle once since it was so close to the lifts. The hotel has an ice machine you can use, and the hot tub was wonderful after a long day on the slopes. For the night-time crowd, the sports bar on the first floor was poppin' every night with tons of locals. It really is a cool place all around.
I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking to stay in Vail. I know I will be returning in February.
