This was our second stay at La Casa Blanca in the last 2 years. We loved it the first time and even more so the second time. The property is perfect for a big extended family - the spacious main house and the 2 separate casitas give everyone their own space. There are 2 levels of roof deck space, perfect for evening drinks, watching the amazing sunset, and even whale spotting. The pool is beautiful and we paid extra to have it heated which was well worth it because the nights get so cool that even the hot days don't warm it up. The hot tub attached to the pool was a staple, too. We had a cook, Mayte, cook us both lunch and dinner every day and I would highly recommend getting a cook. The food is wonderful and takes all the stress out of grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning up after. Mark, the house manager was very responsive in answering all of my questions before our arrival and was on top of all of our needs during our stay. Last but not least, Edgar, our "everything man" was incredible. He saw to our every need, if anything needed fixing, he got it done, if we needed anything, he got it for us, he even set up chairs and umbrellas for us when we went to Cerritos Beach for the day (20min drive south). Anything we could possibly need, he took care of it. He was a true gem.
The location is great - about a 8 minute drive down a dirt road from the main highway and a 5 minute easy walk to the long, beautiful beach. There's also a must-eat-at restaurant called Hierbabuena just up the road (a 5min drive) and fun to get drinks at the hotel Rancho Pescadero a 10 minute walk down the beach. I would highly recommend this place and hope we can come back again some day soon.
My wife and I visited with a family group of three couples (parents and their grown children) in "low" season and La Casa Blanca was ideal–the younger couples in the casitas and the older ones in the main house. We all had our privacy yet plenty if opportunity to gather as a group in the pool, under the outdoor dining area and in the generous kitchen/living space in the main house. Many enjoyable moments in the 2nd floor outdoor lounge and on the 3rd floor viewing deck as well as preparing freshly caught Mahi on the outdoor grill. Excellent proximity to the beach and numerous eateries from gourmet to roadside. A short drive to Todo Santos, a lovely small town with shops, galleries and restaurants. Best of all, the weather was nearly perfect–even though near 90 daily, low humidity with a cool breeze off the ocean–no need for a/c! We'll be back someday…soon I hope.
My family celebrated our sons wedding in Pescadero and we decided to rent a house for me and my husband, our 2 daughters. son in law, 3 year old granddaughter and my 85 year old mother. The place was perfect for us. My mom stayed in one casita, my daughter and her family in the second casita and the rest of us in the main house. We were all together but had our privacy. We enjoyed the great living room and dining area as well as the central pool and hot tub which is where we would all congregate. The house had amazing views from the 2nd and 3rd floor patios where drinks were often served so we could all watch the amazing sunsets. The house was a few minute walk to the beach and made for a perfect location. Mark Catania- the agent and host for the property was very receptive to all of our needs. He arranged for rentals for the three year old, stocking of the house with food and beverage before we got there according to my shopping list, and arranged for locally prepared and served dinners and cocktails as we were hosting some pre wedding get togethers ranging from 17-35 people. Mark even arranged for some live entertainment. The parties were well executed with plenty of staff and were very reasonably and fairly priced. I didn't have to lift a finger. I could not have asked for anything more. And the best part was that I got to enjoy myself.
My family (including myself, my husband and four year old daughter) and our family friends (husband and wife) stayed at La Casa Blanca for three weeks.
We stayed in the main house and found it to be above what we had expected. It was spotless upon arrival. The first evening we headed straight for the top-floor patio (as opposed to the 2nd floor patio or ground level patio) to watch the sunset over the ocean. The house comfortable accommodated our family of three (including our four year old daughter), and our two friends.
The kitchen amenities were fantastic - all Bosch appliances. WiFi was fantastic. It is a central location to three different surf breaks which was great for myself and my husband who are intermediate and advanced level surfers. The pool and hot tub was fantastic for our daughter who learned to swim here. It was off the beach enough that we weren't kept awake by the surf, but could tell what the reports were (trade off is being a small ways away from the beach).
The beds were comfortable.
Our host, Johanna was fantastic. She was incredibly gracious and responsive to all requests or questions we had. Our daughter took to her immediately and just adored her. We all do and already miss her.
Thank you for a lovely vacation!
