Head down to a fabulous restaurant, explore the shops, or head straight to the beach with the crystal clear blue water of the Pacific Ocean and soft white sands.
Lin and I have been friends for many years When Lin decided to purchase this condo, she called me and asked me to take care of the management for her. My husband Rick and I own a small Real Estate company here on the Big Island called South Island Realty.

We enjoyed our stay at this treasure-of-a-find condo! The owner was very courteous and helpful and even invited us to come to her home to pick fresh fruit from her orchard! Everything we needed was right at our fingertips. The location was perfect for our needs. Having family on both sides of the island (Hilo and Kona) made this a halfway point for us to meet. The owner had Kona coffee there for our use. Imagine the fragrance of it as we woke up! M-m-m, that's Hawaii! Waikoloa Shores is an ideal place to be as it's so close to the ocean and you're just 20-25 minutes from the airport, and Costco! From there, you're not very far from Kailua if you want to do more major, local shopping.
Our best view this time, was the snow-capped Mauna Kea! What an awesome view when we landed! Imagine this Island mountain being draped with newly fallen snow almost halfway down! Ig you wanted cooler weather, driving up to Waimea, to Paniolo country is always a treat too! We would stay again and will suggest it to our friends who decide to go to the Big Island for an adventure or relaxation!
The corner deck is spacious as is the condo! In November the sun hits the deck during the day which can be pleasant for sun worshippers and comfortable when the Trades are active -- it can also be fairly warming. We used the AC only overnight one time during our short stay. There is limited space in the kitchen area but it is definitely adequate for the time spent in the condo. We loved the privacy of the condo as well as the beautiful grounds. We have stayed in the islands numerous times and found that we absolutely love the Waikoloa area! We'd put it at a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 -- that's how wonderful and safe it is! The Shores in particular are quite lovely -- you might find yourself wondering what it would take to buy a unit while here!
Staying at the shores was amazing. we arrived very easily from the airport following the info from Lin and we found some tropical fruit waiting for us.....really good!
The location is perfect if you want to enjoy some of the most impressive beaches on the island, in the neighborhood there is a sort of mall with shops and a supermarket (quite expansive) convenient in case of rain.
The house is full equipped with snorkeling gear, beach chairs/umbrella, kitchen is well equipped, the outdoor patio is really nice for a breakfast or a dinner, bed is comfortable.
We really enjoyed our stay
We stayed at the property for about a week. It was perfect for us (family of four, two small children) to use as a home base to come back to at the end of a day out on the beach.
The property was clean and well-maintained, all appliances worked properly. The owners obviously are taking very good care of the place.
Speaking of the owners, we had a small bit of communication with them by phone, and they were very pleasant to deal with.
It's worth noting that the property is not on a beach, nor does it have a view of the ocean. There is a lovely private corner patio with a table and deck chairs that was a terrific place to have breakfast on or to look at the stars on a clear night. This patio looks inland rather than seaward; however, this is Hawaii, so of course the view's still awesome.
There is a large grocery store within a 20-30 minute walk / 5 minute drive from the property, and it had everything we needed during our trip, so that was very convenient.
The closest shoreline access is technically reachable on foot, though it's a bit of a trek for small kids. However, by car, we had very easy access to Hapuna Beach, Beach 69, and other terrific beaches on the west side of the island.
If you're looking to walk out your back door and onto a sandy beach, this is not that kind of place, but that was not what we were looking for. We wanted a quiet, safe, and comfortable place to base our trips from, and it was definitely all those things. I would certainly stay there again.
The unit was perfect, has everything you could possibly need for your vacation. Great location in Waikoloa across from the Hilton, short walk to the Kings and Queens shopping areas. All the cooking utensils that you would need to make gourmet meals. Short drives to Hawi, Waimea, Kona, and Saddle Road. Looking forward to being a repeat customer
Out stay was perfect in the spacious and clean condo. It was quiet, which was perfect for our 5 month old baby. Parking was easy and close to the unit. The elevators made it easy to move in and out. Lin was great to deal with and gave us some fresh fruit for our stay. We would definitely would stay there again.
The Shores at Waikoloa Beach is located in an area of High end Resort Hotels and luxury condominiums. Just minutes to 'A' Bay beaches and a short walk to great dining options and shopping. Of course the beach and nearly year round sunshine is the big draw here, but the Big Island has so much to offer, there is something for everyone.
