If you enjoy art, music and literature you will appreciate our 65 sq meter (700 sq feet) apartment that’s been designed by a talented French architect. Full of books, CD's and DVD's, it’s a home away from home. On the fourth floor with elevator, it has an independent entrance in our duplex, providing complete privacy along with the advantage of having us near for any information you might need.
Marvelously situated between the Bastille and the Place de la République and just around the corner from the historical Cirque d’Hiver, the apartment is on the edge of the fashionable Haut Marais area which is full of art galleries, exclusive clothing stores and specialty food shops as well as a colorful covered market. You can walk to the Pompidou Center and the Place de Vosges within fifteen minutes, and many of Paris’s famous attractions such as the Louvre or Notre Dame are at a convenient distance whether on foot or by using public transportation. Three metro and 3 bus lines are near the apartment, making it incredibly convenient for visiting Paris. As well, the major train stations are easily reached from here.
The apartment consists of an open kitchen/living area, a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a library-study in which a sofa can open to a very comfortable full bed, and a bathroom with a shower. There’s everything necessary for a perfect stay in Paris: a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, induction cook-top, microwave, oven, and refrigerator; large flat-screen television and DVD player; radio-CD player with an excellent sound system; telephone; wireless internet; washer-dryer). Detergent, paper products and staples such as tea and coffee, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, and sugar are provided so you aren’t obliged to do a major shopping just to settle in.
Rental fee includes linens and towels, and cleaning at the end of your stay.
For 3 persons, the price is 210€ a night.
We are a French-American couple. Pierre is a pure Parisien; Marsha grew up in Maine, and lived in New York before deciding to move to Paris. We've lived in the area for many years and really love it. The idea of transforming our duplex into an independent apartment offers us the pleasure of using our space wisely as well as giving visitors to Paris a very comfortable and welcoming environment in which to stay.
We have rented several Home Away apartments in Paris over the years. This is the BEST by far! The owner appreciates the little things that make a vacation rental easy and enjoyable. Upon arrival there was toilet paper, paper towels, tissue, milk, juice, spices and olive oil in the larder. Marsha provides a very nice guide to local restaurants, grocery stores and markets. There are 3 Metro stations within a 2 block radius so getting to a destination is very quick and easy. The beds are very comfortable, and the rooms are spacious by Paris (or New York) standards. Our 19 year old daughter was captivated by the expansive collection of design books in the library. This was the cleanest, most well kept apartment we have every rented! When we return to Paris, this will be our first (maybe only) choice for lodging.
My husband, 16-year-old son and I came to Paris for a week long stay at the end of January. . Comfortable, snazzy, and in the perfect spot, the apartment quickly became our home base. The woman who owns the apartment is a most gracious hostess: we enjoyed every interaction with her! We'll come back for sure. Highly recommended!
We rented the apartment for 2 weeks in December 2016. Yes the elevator is small but we were glad there is an elevator. Marsha gave us the keys upon arrival and we entered a gorgeous apartment. It seemed much bigger than the photos suggest. Fresh croissants, orange juice, and fresh cut flowers were waiting. Marsha outlined various restaurants, bakeries and attractions in the area.
The apartment itself is very clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed. It is equipped with everything you might need, from grocery cart to exercise mat. Certainly Marsha ensures her guests enjoy their stay. The location is excellent because there are 2 nearby metro stops. We also could walk to the Picasso Museum and the Pompidou.
Marsha herself is a delight. Her knowledge of the area is impressive. She made us very welcome in the apartment. We would not hesitate to book the apartment again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this apartment. It is attractive and well furnished with everything we needed for the week. We like a place to stay where we can get a few groceries and have a light breakfast and cup of coffee before heading out for the day, and this was perfect for that. Marsha couldn't be nicer or more welcoming and provides lots of helpful information from where to find a nearby grocery store to how to work the appliances. She even provides some restaurant recommendations where we found some of the best meals we had all week. It is conveniently located near two metro stops which makes getting anywhere easy. It is on the fourth floor, but there is an elevator. The elevator is tiny, but does the trick. A benefit of being up off the street level is that it is very quiet. Between the quiet and great bed, we slept very well. We enjoyed feeling a bit more immersed in a local neighborhood, rather than in a hotel with nothing but other tourists. On a side note, a friend recommended we get a Paris Passlib' pass from the visitors bureau that provide access to all the big attractions and the metro for a set price. It allowed us to skip the lines at every attraction and we highly recommend it. Here's a link: http://en.parisinfo.com/what-to-see-in-paris/paris-pass/paris-passlib
We stayed in this apartment in early June. Marsha was a charming discreet host who was waiting for us armed with warm fresh croissants, fresh coffee and milk and a multitude of excellent recommendations.
This small but perfect apartment ticked all our boxes.
It is in a fantastic location in Le Marais, a short stroll to Marche des Enfants Rouge where we did all our market shopping and close to great bars and restaurants. The 2 nearby metro lines made it easy to travel all over the city.
The apartment itself was clean and very comfortable, (especially the beds!) and came thoughtfully equipped with kitchen essentials like olive oil and spices. The shower pressure was excellent and the washing machine efficient and handy to have.
It was a safe haven and a welcomed retreat at the end of each busy day.
Marsha's listing description is accurate and the 5 star reviews I read before arriving justified. I am happy to recommend this property.
My family and I stayed in this beautiful apartment during our recent trip to Paris. It is perfectly situated on the edge of the Marais and close to several Metro lines as well as wonderful bistros, bakeries, and Parisian street life. The apartment is so comfortable, clean and spacious that it is the perfect place to return to after exploring the city or curl up during a downpour and read some of the great books in the shelves. The owner is extremely thoughtful and gracious. She is very knowledgeable about the city and provided us with everything from subway maps to restaurant suggestions. The apartment is beautifully appointed and the owner's thoughtfulness is reflected in the way she has equipped the apartment with many little things that make a stay easier and more comfortable. When we arrived she had already stocked up with coffee, milk and Perrier water. There are shopping bags to use for groceries and even plug adapters and extra phone chargers! The Wifi worked well despite multiple devices being used simultaneously. There is a great washer/dryer that works wonderfully and the kitchen is fully equipped. We will be recommending this apartment to all of our friends and hope that it will be available next time we come.
