Five bedroom house with 4.5 bathrooms - perfect for large families!
This is a Five bedroom waterfront home in Deep Cove, North Vancouver on the Indian Arm fjord /seawater 25 minutes from downtown Vancouver. In summer months we rent the entire house as one unit on weekly basis. During the rest of year it can be rented short term or longer term (one or more months.) The bottom floor of the home is a large self-contained 1 bedroom suite complete with full bathroom and kitchen. During the low season, the main 4 bedroom , 2.5 bath home can be rented separately from the suite, which is also available for rent.
This property is not suited for events such a weddings or large parties of any sort due to limited parking (3 cars) and the fact that it is in a quiet residential neighborhood. We love our neighbors, and they are very quick to notify us and the local authorities if things get really noisy.
The residence is has a year round creek adjacent to the west walls, and offers a private dock, rocky beach, and garden area. Additionally, it has a large heated jacuzzi/hot-tub built into a wooden deck between the house and the waterfront for a post swim warm-up or evening soak.
The house is 12 minute walk to Deep Cove Village with many shops, restaurants, galleries, coffee houses and summer theatre etc. Deep Cove is a very safe and friendly environment for families with teens or younger. Good public transportation as well to Vancouver via seabus or muni buses.
The home itself is ideally situated to capture the beauty of its setting. Each of its three stories have many windows and decks facing the water where guests enjoy morning coffee or tea while watching kayaks and sailboats and power yachts pass by.
The residence has a reverse layout with a top floor entrance into the living, kitchen and dining areas, which open onto a panoramic views. Visible from the property are both Deep Cove marinas, coastal mountains and islets, and the lights of Port Coquitlan and Burnaby in the distance.
Tidal changes are up to twelve feet here and crabs can be caught right off the dock. The house is very private and feels as though you're 'away from it all,' yet it's only 20 km from downtown Vancouver. Families traveling together will find this spot a refreshing and private escape. Like all homes in this area, the property is forested by cedars and deciduous trees and sits at the base of the Mt. Seymour vast forest full of trails and wildlife. Large families tend to love this home.
There are 21 stairs down to house from road and three floor levels in house without an elevator. The house is not well suited for people who have difficulty with stairs. This is NOT a 'child safe' house in that there are open stairwells, exposed plugs, wiring, etc. so renters must strictly supervise young children in and out.
Our property is available for weekly rental in summer and a minimum of 5 days to many months Sept-May each year. The entire house is NON SMOKING. We prefer to limit the group size to 10 or 12 including children, and welcome families especially.
Residential neighborhood “quiet hours” are observed before 9 a.m. and after 9 p.m. daily. At the street level there is a one car garage and parking for 1 other vehicle in the driveway. We also have a pass for parking on the road which is otherwise restricted. The maximum number of vehicles you can part at this property is three.

About Jean Zlotkin
The property is owned by a Californian, named Jean. She finds herself in Vancouver more often than not these days and has fallen in love with BC and the Deep Cove community especially. This property was purchased for retirement and vacationing.
Jean Zlotkin purchased this House in 2006
Why Jean Zlotkin chose Deep Cove
Deep Cove is a special place. It is oceanfront yet feels like an alpine lake. It offers immediate access to the great city of Vancouver and yet is only 15 minutes away from snow skiing in the winter or just a few steps down to kayaking in the summer.
What makes this House unique
Very few places can offer the amenities of this home: a private dock for lounging, and launching watercraft, a hot tub where you can enjoy a glass of wine while the sun sets, or warm up after a swim in the sea. It also houses a regulation pool table for entertainment in the lower level and commands glorious views of land and sea. In winter it offers close proximity to great winter ski areas, 3 local, and a 1.5 hour drive to world-class Whistler too.

An outstanding, beautiful home. Tranquil and peaceful. Refreshes the spirit.
This home is the perfect blend of luxury and cabin-y! The layout is perfect for a family and/or for entertaining. The beds are comfy and the views from the main floor and master suite are outstanding. We absolutely loved our stay and will return any chance we get. Jean, as a host, was terrific. There are some great toys and a high chair for little ones. Such a cozy, beautiful place!
Beautiful home + gorgeous location = wonderful family reunion
Three generations of my family, ages 7-79, spent a terrific week here. The house had plenty of room for all of us, and the main level was great for watching the NBA finals, playing games, cooking, and eating together (two tables were combined to seat all 11). We spent a lot of time on the deck and the dock, and the view was beautiful at every time of day. The kids, ages 7-15, loved going to the dock and learning how to trap crabs (with a lot of help from Chris). I think it's important for people considering the property to know that all of the driveways in Deep Cove are steeply inclined, and the driveway is the only way to access the house. My parents are active in their 70s, but the weather was wet the week of our visit and I was worried about them slipping on the steep driveway. We were careful, however, and there were no mishaps at all. The walk to "downtown" Deep Cove is easy and flat, and the town and parks are fun to explore. Access to Vancouver and a trip north along the coast was easy, too. We had great support from the owner before and during our stay. It could not have been a more beautiful, relaxing place for our family to get together! We loved it and truly didn't want to leave.
Great house, great view, great locación
We loved the house, really comfortable
We rented this property in December 2015 for a week-long, Christmas family get-together, 8 adults and 4 children under 3. It was awesome. The property is beautiful and very well equipped, with the living space on the top floor giving stunning views of the ever-changing mountain and water scenery. One son even managed a dip in the water, followed very rapidly by immersion in the hot tub. And the owner was very flexible and accommodating, even installing a decorated Christmas tree for us.
What a Place!
We have just returned from staying at this wonderful place. Great location, perfect house. We were 10 adults and there was more than enough room for all of us. The village of Deep Cove is delightful. We went on many adventures while we were there but the best part of everyday was coming back to this beautiful home!
Wonderful Waterfront Home
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this superbly equipped home in such a beautifully scenic location. Close enough to Vancouver to explore the city (we recommend a visit to Stanley Park and the Aquarium) but far enough out to enjoy the peace and beauty of the North Shore mountains. The open plan kitchen/dining and living area was ideal for our large family gathering and we enjoyed the great views over the Cove from the dining/decking area and made good use of the brand new barbecue (thank you to Tom for sorting this for us). Direct access to the water via the dock was wonderful, perfect for watching the comings and goings in the Cove as well as catching crabs, watching seals and just relaxing. Being picked up from the dock for our boat trip on Indian Arm was really special. Jean has been really helpful from first contact to all the information provided to help our holiday run smoothly, recommendations for walks, eating out and everything you need to know about the house and area. It was a pleasure for all of us to stay in such a lovely home thank you.
Our property is at the shoreline, with a long dock extending out and the house set back on a hillside; indicator on map is close proximity. Good public transportation (bus) to downtown Vancouver is frequent for non-drivers, as well as sea-bus across Burrard Inlet.
