|Minimum Stay||4 - 14 nights|
Five bedroom waterfront home in Deep Cove on Vancouver's Indian Arm saltwater inlet, 25 minutes from downtown Vancouver. This beautiful vacation residence is bordered on the west by a year round creek. The property has a private dock, rocky beach, and garden area. Additionally, it has a large heated jacuzzi/hot-tub built into a wooden deck between the house and the water.
The home itself is ideally situated to capture the beauty of its setting. Each of its three stories have many windows that look out on the inlet outside. Each story also boasts a cedar deck, where you can enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise.
The residence has a reverse layout with a top floor entrance into the living, kitchen and dining areas, which open onto a panoramic e/s/w view. Visible from the property are both Deep Cove marinas, coastal mountains and islets, and the lights of Port Coquitlan and Burnaby in the distance. Tidal changes are up to twelve feet here and crabs can be caught right off the dock. The house is very private and feels as though you're 'away from it all,' yet it's only 20 km from downtown Vancouver. Families traveling together will find this spot a refreshing and private escape in all seasons. Like all homes in this area, the property is forested by cedars and deciduous trees.
This home has had extensive upgrades and remodeling over the last five years. It is now available for weekly, monthly, or longer periods by agreement (it is otherwise used as the family's vacation home). We are not renting for shorter stays than one week except 'off season' and then to families or businesses and not for 'event' (parties, etc) use. It is a NON SMOKING house in a quiet area. We prefer to limit the group size to 10 or 12 including children. Property usage is intended for registered guests for the most part (e.g., a few local friends/family/business retreat members visiting is fine but no large parties or events or celebrations with visitors not on the contract unless with owner's prior permission). NOTE: This is not a 'formal' house in terms of dining table with leaves, matching chairs beyond six, etc. It is as depicted in the photos. We do have a table extension in matching wood to seat 10. We have a large outdoor fold up table and 10 folding chairs for evenings on the deck. Off season we also can rent the lower floor on weekly or monthly basis as stand alone suite/apartment w/ separate entry.
Residential neighborhood “quiet hours” are observed before 9 a.m. and after 9 p.m. daily. At the street level there is a garage and parking for 1 other vehicle. We also have a pass for parking on the road which is otherwise restricted so 3 cars MAX in your party. The home is a 12 minute walk to the Deep Cove village along Panorama Drive (where the Baden/Powell trail from Mt. Seymour area ends), as well as to the local kayak center and two marinas. Street parking is also available for additional cars and visitors w/o charge or time limits. NOTE: ambulatory abilities are necessary, as the house has extensive stairs, and there are no lifts on any level. This is NOT a 'child safe' house in that there are open stairwells, exposed plugs, wiring, etc. so renters must strictly supervise young children in and out.
The four bedrooms on the middle level of the house include:
(a) master bedroom with private inlet-facing deck, king-sized bed, a movable single bed, and en-suite bath;
(b) creek-side bedroom with small creek-facing deck and private entrance and queen-sized bed;

This residence is owned by a Californian couple and is used as a vacation residence for themselves and friends and family. Due to work, distance and travel, we are only there part time so we have decided to share our home with people from other areas who will enjoy and care for it. We have great neighbors in Deep Cove and are renting to visiting families traveling together as well as to businesses for retreats and meetings. we do not do rentals at present for events, bachelor parties, social gatherings, etc. (parking and noise issues) and we ask that the principal (signing) renter be age 35 or older. Well supervised children are welcome and animals are possible with approval and deposit.

We looked at all kinds of properties once we decided that the Greater Vancouver area was where we wanted to spend much of our leisure time. We wanted to have ocean access easily (we boat and swim), privacy, feel connected to the Pacific Northwest forest, and have all the urban excitement and amenities of a great city. Deep Cove proved to be the unique answer for all our desires.
Very few places can offer the amenities of this home: a private dock for lounging, a hot tub where you can enjoy a glass of wine while the sun sets, or warm up after a swim off the private dock; a regulation pool table for entertainment and glorious views. AND…in winter… proximity to great winter sports area and l.5 hours to Whistler... plus three 'local' ski areas within 1/2 hour.
Thank you for all the details and help you provided me with to ensure our stay was perfect. The house, the views, the comforts all were perfect.
Relaxing on your decks, dock, or in your hot tub prevented us from leaving quite as much as we planned since we were so happy here.
The climb to Quarry Rock on the Baden-Powell trail was fun and our dinners locally at the Arm's Reach Bistro and The Raven Pub were delicious.
Hope we can boat Indian Arm another time. (text from house guest book)
Three generations of my family, ages 7-79, spent a terrific week here. The house had plenty of room for all of us, and the main level was great for watching the NBA finals, playing games, cooking, and eating together (two tables were combined to seat all 11). We spent a lot of time on the deck and the dock, and the view was beautiful at every time of day. The kids, ages 7-15, loved going to the dock and learning how to trap crabs (with a lot of help from Chris). I think it's important for people considering the property to know that all of the driveways in Deep Cove are steeply inclined, and the driveway is the only way to access the house. My parents are active in their 70s, but the weather was wet the week of our visit and I was worried about them slipping on the steep driveway. We were careful, however, and there were no mishaps at all. The walk to "downtown" Deep Cove is easy and flat, and the town and parks are fun to explore. Access to Vancouver and a trip north along the coast was easy, too. We had great support from the owner before and during our stay. It could not have been a more beautiful, relaxing place for our family to get together! We loved it and truly didn't want to leave.
Great house, great view, great locación
We loved the house, really comfortable
We rented this property in December 2015 for a week-long, Christmas family get-together, 8 adults and 4 children under 3. It was awesome. The property is beautiful and very well equipped, with the living space on the top floor giving stunning views of the ever-changing mountain and water scenery. One son even managed a dip in the water, followed very rapidly by immersion in the hot tub. And the owner was very flexible and accommodating, even installing a decorated Christmas tree for us.
We have just returned from staying at this wonderful place. Great location, perfect house. We were 10 adults and there was more than enough room for all of us. The village of Deep Cove is delightful. We went on many adventures while we were there but the best part of everyday was coming back to this beautiful home!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this superbly equipped home in such a beautifully scenic location. Close enough to Vancouver to explore the city (we recommend a visit to Stanley Park and the Aquarium) but far enough out to enjoy the peace and beauty of the North Shore mountains. The open plan kitchen/dining and living area was ideal for our large family gathering and we enjoyed the great views over the Cove from the dining/decking area and made good use of the brand new barbecue (thank you to Tom for sorting this for us). Direct access to the water via the dock was wonderful, perfect for watching the comings and goings in the Cove as well as catching crabs, watching seals and just relaxing. Being picked up from the dock for our boat trip on Indian Arm was really special. Jean has been really helpful from first contact to all the information provided to help our holiday run smoothly, recommendations for walks, eating out and everything you need to know about the house and area. It was a pleasure for all of us to stay in such a lovely home thank you.
My family of five, including 3 college age kids, and a couple of dear friends, (all of us from Austin, Texas), had the pleasure of staying in this lovely home for a week. The homeowner was so gracious and accommodating. I felt like I was dealing with an old friend. The house itself was lovely, well appointed, but so comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. We love to cook, and anything and everything we needed was there. The beds were very comfortable and the linens and towels were great. There were actually two kitchens, one upstairs on the main floor and one on the lower floor. The owners had recently completed some remodeling of the lower floor and it was great, pool table, full kitchen, and a second "great room". Honestly, we all hung together on the main floor, outside on the deck, as much as we could. The views are breathtaking, and endless. The mountains coming down to meet the water, it is just amazing. We loved the quaint village of Deep Cove. We walked into town every day, through the park, watching the kayaks, canoes, and SUP's, move across the water. The donuts at Honey Donut were awesome, dinner at Arms Reach was delicious, and we visited the gelato shop more than we should have. We hiked, kayaked and had a private boat tour with Wayne, from Mitch's boat service, that was great. They picked us up right on "our" dock. There is a crab trap that the guys baited with raw chicken, also right off the dock - and we had more and more dungeness crab every time they pulled up the trap, (also starfish in the trap). The starfish were great for photo ops and then we made sure to throw them back. We had sea lions come swim up to the dock too. Vancouver was a quick 20 - 25 minute drive away and we enjoyed lots of the great things that the city has to offer. But we all decided that our favorite thing was just being together, sitting on the deck and dock, drinking wine and taking in all the natural beauty. We would love to return! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Our property is at the shoreline, with a long dock extending out and the house set back on a hillside; indicator on map is close proximity. Good public transportation (bus) to downtown Vancouver is frequent for non-drivers, as well as sea-bus across Burrard Inlet.
