This apartment is imaginatively designed and features a pool, barbecue and garden area. There are 2 double bedrooms and 2 showers. The kitchen, accessible from the lounge/dining room, contains hobs, fridge-freezer and mini electric oven. It opens onto a spacious furnished terrace with a sea view. There is a second furnished terrace set at the entrance to a cave, which is secluded and cool. Steps lead down to the pool with terrace and sun beds.
The Villa Malcusa possesses one of the most beautiful views on the entire Costa Smeralda. Set in a secluded location above the village of San Panteleo, Villa Malcusa was designed by the architect Dario Roselli with influences ranging from local craftsmen to Gaudi. Each of the apartments features a private terrace, and two feature private pools. The picturesque village of San Panteleo is a short drive or a 10 minute walk. There are breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and the Gulf of Arzachena.
The apartments have been designed to blend into and respect the local environment, as well as affording privacy. Each apartment features commissioned pieces of artwork.
The Villa is composed of three apartments, each with their own private entrance.

The Villa location is quiet and secluded but is only a 15 min walk to the beautiful village of San Pantaleo which has great bars, restaurants, shops and a lively market on Thursdays
The villa was clean and well maintained. The views from the outdoor dining area are fantastic! A great spot to watch the sun go down. It was so lovely to have our own pool, which was very clean and well kept.
The lovely Umberto was very friendly and helpful and showed us around on arrival and wasn't far away if we needed anything.
We had a wonderful relaxing week and would definitely return.
We stayed here for the third year running in July this year, and will hopefully be going back next summer! We love Villa Malcusa, and have stayed in both Mizar and The Moon - this year we rented both apartments to house all our family and friends - both of which have pools (although the Mizar pool is bigger and has the benefit of the garden).
The setting is beautiful, with a stunning view over the bay of Arzachena from both apartments, and the unusual architecture of the house definitely emphasises the feeling of "getting away from it all". The owner, Umberto, is delightful, always eager help, and has a constant beaming smile on his face. The village of San Pantaleo is charming and has several great little boutiques (don't miss Foresta G with its original desfrom n dresses and home furnishings) and restaurants - Da Nico is very good and Caffe Nina on the village sqaure is a great spot for coffee in the morning or a glass or two of vino bianco in the evening.
When we weren't enjoying just relaxing around the pool or playing pool games with the children, we all headed off to one of the nearby beaches - you don't have to go far, the nearest beach, Rena Bianca, is only a 10 minutes drive and is perfect for children.
I would definitely recommend this villa to anyone wanting to enjoy the Costa Esmeralda from a beautiful, secluded, yet affordable, location.
We stayed for two weeks in early June as a family of three with a young child. The villa was perfect for a relaxing getaway - the descriptions and photographs just do not do justice to this place - its design is so unique and its position just lovely for a quiet holiday with family or friends. Everything was in good condition and was well maintained during our stay.
The terrace, garden and pool were ideal for lazy days at home and local facilities were on hand in San Panatelo down the hill - but its quite a walk back up! Although not essential, we appreciated having a car and great beaches and bigger towns are all within a 20-30 minute drive.
Any review of this villa could not be complete without a comment on the owner, Umberto. We were over two hours late arriving (around 11.30pm) yet he greeted us warmly, helped to settle us in and had made us some supper - which after a day's travelling was very welcome indeed. He was obliging and always available for help or advice but so discrete as to never be intrusive. Never without a smile and a happy word, he made us feel so welcome and looked after.
I would not hesitate in recommending this place to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday in a beautiful location. I am sure that there were many activities that we could have tried but we just didn't feel the need.
The Villa Malcusa is set in over 100 acres of grounds above the village of San Panteleo. The village's restaurants and amenities are easily accessible by car or via a short walk. The unspoilt beaches of the world-famous Costa Smeralda are a short drive away.
