Irinis House is a fully furnished holiday apartment near the beach and very close to Skiathos town.
It consists of 2 bedrooms, a living and dining room, fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a WC.
The apartment has great views of the sea and probably its very best asset is that it is located right above the beach of Megali Ammos. Next to the building a path leads directly on to this popular sandy beach. On this beach you will find a water sports school, several bars and restaurants and rental sun beds and umbrellas. The apartment provides a comfortable balcony that allows you to enjoy the views of the beach and the sea.
First, the greeting by Irini and her family is warm and welcoming. Always nearby, but never intrusive, they are the perfect hosts. Second, the view from the balcony is indescribable. Some of our favorite times was early morning and late night lounging just staring at the view in front of us. It was hard to turn away from the view to get some sleep. Third, the flat is well-supplied with all the utensils, appliances, and conveniences for a problem-free stay. Additionally, it is a short walk to either the town center or the bus stop to everywhere. Did I note that the Ageia Eleni Beach is approximately 57 steps away. Lastly, Skiathos is a special kind of place. We're going back.
My husband and I have been fortunate enough to travel the world (prior to children!!) and have never felt compelled to write a review before!! This stunning country and lovely apartment, however can not be left without mention.
My husband and 2 children who are 5 and 6 years old have just returned from the most amazing 2 weeks staying at Irinis House. I had reservations before going with 2 young children and the outside space being limited, however there was no need to have worried as the beach is literally on your doorstep. The space was amazing for a family of 4 with plenty of room in the large lounge and a fully equipped kitchen, far superior to most in Greece. The bedrooms were roomy with plenty of light, if not a little warm in the evenings (the twin bedroom is much cooler!!).
I defy anyone to tire of the amazing view from the balcony watching the never ending beautiful boats anchoring in the beautiful bay of Megali Ammos. There is a bus stop (No 4) just at the top of a short hill, which takes you easily, if not a little packed, around the island to some beautiful beaches and down into the harbour if little legs are tired after a days playing and swimming.
If you are concerned there is not a swimming pool the hotel just at the top of the hill will let you use theres as long as you buy a drink (5 min walk) or as we preferred the Tennis club on the opposite side of town (25 min walk or bus to harbour) is fantastic with excellent food, friendly staff and always a sun bed available.
We were very sad to be leaving and will definitely be returning, hopefully next year.

We have just returned from the most amazing holiday at Irini’s House. Firstly, Nataly is lovely as are the Irini’s who live on the ground floor and keep the courtyard pristine. Nataly arranged for us to be collected from the airport and included some essential items to get us started. We could not resist unpacking and walking the 20 paces to the beach into the sea, what more could you want when you arrive at your holiday home. Secondly, the apartment is large, airy and bright (not to mention spotless) with quiet and efficient air conditioning. There are balconies to 3 sides of the apartment including one with the stunning view of Megali Ammos Bay. The view from the desk sure beats the view from our office! There are a hundred DVD’s and two huge comfy sofa’s, add a bottle of wine and you are set for a quiet night in when the partying tires you out. The excitement of the Town is 10 minutes walk, but it is lovely to return to the quiet of Irini’s House for a good night’s sleep.
The only down side was having to leave after two weeks, however Nataly arranged for us to be delivered to the airport in style and everyone came to say goodbye – for now! Can’t wait to go back.
This fully equipped and well appointed apartment is in a great location for visiting Skiathos town and the beaches. All the comforts of home and wonderful opportunity to feel like you've adopted a new home, so much better than a hotel. We're finding it hard to leave here after what feels like a too short month, could easily stay the entire season if obligations at home would allow it. Nataly is a wonderful host and all the Irinis family are very friendly and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be staying here again.
Irinis House, Skiathos
Review submitted: October 2012
Date of Stay: June 2011
Previous reviews give a very accurate account of all that is good about Irinis House and this review just serves to reinforce all the positives. There were no negatives.
Sitting out on the balcony taking in the view was certainly a highlight and is the ideal way to relax after a day at the beach or sight-seeing.
The apartment was spacious, bright and well decorated. The furniture; beds, sofas, dining chairs & table etc., were modern and excellent condition throughout and the cooking & washing facilities in the apartment were more than adequate.
The apartment was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay.
The air-conditioning worked well. This may seem a minor point to some but we have stayed in apartments, hotels and even a villa, were sadly this was not the case (the air-con was either inadequate or too noisy) that it is ranks as a measureable for us.
Nataly and her family could not have been more welcoming and helpful. As many have said before they are just downstairs but never intrude.
Although we have been to Skaithos many times Nataly was able to recommend some excellent tavernas we had not been to before and also helped arrange the hire of a car.
The apartment’s very close proximity to Megali Ammos beach is excellent for enjoying a day at the beach while having the choice to lunch at one of the nearby tavernas or return to the apartment.
It takes a couple of minutes to walk uphill (but not too steep) to the Acropolis area of the town and thereafter a good number of quality bars, restaurants/tavernas and shops.
From a purely personal stand-point I feel the best endorsement that can be given to somewhere is to go their again. That is precisely what we are going to do. We enjoyed our holiday at Irinis House so much in 2011 that we have booked to go back there in 2013

Great apartment, very tastefully decorated, clean & well maintained. The owners of the property live downstairs so are always there if you need them but are in no way intrusive. The views from the balcony are excellent and the arpartment is literally steps away from the beach. Ideally located for Skiathos Town and the airport is also close by. Overall a very enjoyable holiday and look forward to returning.
Just returned from Irinis house and would like to thank Nataly for being so helpful and friendly. It is closer to the beach than the photos suggest, just one property back with fantastic views over a low rooftop.
Very convenient for Skiathos Town, 5-10 mins walk. Some wonderful waterside restaurants in the area. The family live below but you would not know they were there unless needed
The apartment is located just a few minutes walking distance from town. In the immediate vicinity of this outstanding apartment there are several supermarkets as well as car rentals and tourist shops. There is a bus stop nearby from where you can go to many other beaches, and the last stop is Koukounaries beach, Skiathos’ most famous beach.
When going into town, the road will lead you straight into Papadiamantis Street, the island’s main street, full of shops, restaurants and bars. Going down Papadiamantis Street, you come to the harbour, with a multitude of cafés and bars and a view of the sea, the traditional fishing boats and the incoming ferries.
