We are from Coastal North Carolina and have been coming to this area for 20 years. We fell in love with the laid back lifestyle and the beautiful rural blue ridge mountains of Virginia. We have recently made this area our home.
Kim Snow purchased this cabin in 2008
We were riding around looking at the beautiful backroads of the area and came across a for sale sign, pulled in and fell immediately in love with this property.
The picture of the outside of the house does not do it justice. You need to experience the setting of the cabin, the landscaping, the sound of the water going over the rocks in the creek, the peacefulness.
Could not have found a more beautiful cottage in the most scenic setting. This house is well equipped from the kitchen to the bedrooms. Close to town and convenient to area attractions. The owner Kim was delightful to work with! I cannot wait to return.
Wonderful weekend at a wonderful cabin. We and another couple came down to Floyd for a music festival and we luckily booked this cabin. It was well appointed, great setup for two couples in a nice secluded location. The porches and cowboy fire area were perfect to sit out and enjoy the peace and quiet. A good time had by all and looking forward to coming back!!
i wanted my family to come "home" for Thanksgiving, but since these are busy people in various locations, we needed a midway point to meet. This cabin proved to be perfect for us! There was room for us to be together and yet space for us to have private time. Because of the time of the year we were not able to use the large deck as much as one could in warmer times, but we still found it was a lovely spot to bundle up and sit out there listening to the river and enjoying the view.
The kitchen is well equipped and roomy enough for us to work as a team to feed everyone for the weekend as well as the holiday.
The owners are easy to work with and very helpful. And thanks for the thoughtfulness of providing a house phone and wifi since none of our cell phones had service.
My family stayed at this wonderful cabin for 3 nights and truly enjoyed ourselves. We took so many pictures of the scenery. A couple of us tried to go down to the stream below, but there is not a way to get down there safely. The house was beautifully decorated with rustic décor and comfortable furniture. The only recommendation we could offer would be a hot tub on the deck. We would definitely recommend anyone go and stay there. It's off the beaten path and away from the rustle of traffic.
My family spent 3 days in the cabin during the Hillsville Flea Market. The Cabin was very clean and well supplied. The family enjoyed the quiet time. The Cabin was very peaceful and the kids enjoyed the creek. We plan on coming back next year.
We spent a week near the Hillsville area and loved our time at the cabin! It was clean and well-supplied. Everything about the design was well thought out. We loved the options of sitting out on the porches, the purgola, or the large living room. We also enjoyed a hike down to the creek below. We would love to come back someday! Thank you!!
Located just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, enjoy breakfast at Mabry Mill, wine tasting and tours at Chateau Morrisette, Villa Appalachia, and Foggy Ridge or visit the many antique shops or golf courses in the area. You can also access the creek for kayaking and tubing.
