What makes this lodge unique

This retreat is ideal for vacationers trying to get away from the city, but not too far. One can set their mind free by wandering the 500 acres of virgin forest, then find themselves again by relaxing in front of one of the many fireplaces. This can all be done only 7.0 miles from the many attractions that beautiful Traverse City has to offer!

Fantastic quiet place

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our time at Racks & Flies Ranch. It was quiet and close to everything. We were able to enjoy Traverse City, the wine trails and biking. It was fun to see the deer walk past your window in the evening. The cabin was very spacious. Thanks again!

Nature At Its Relaxing Best...

  • 5 of 5

Talk about "WOW" factor! In my opinion, this is THE most relaxing place in Michigan...simply awesome in every way. The cabin was comfortable, clean and spacious. We had perfect weather every day which was an added bonus. We had planned to take day trips every day to other nearby attractions, however, we decided to stay at the property 4 out of the 6 days of our stay. And the best for last...Michelle was such a pleasure to deal with...working with us to accommodate our change of dates and taking the time to ensure we were comfortable. THANK YOU SO MUCH MICHELLE! Until we meet of health and success!

Great place to hang-around, Nature and place haunts us not to leave.

Never seen a great personality as this manager. Even for Silly things that I've asked she has never hesitated to help. She is motivated and completely understands to make the comfort for the travelers. Missed opportunity to say bye to you.

This place is unbelievable. We relaxed with coffee on the porch each morning, took long walks through the woods everyday and just enjoyed being outside. We didn't even use the TV. We were able to take our boar out on different lakes each day because of being centrally located. Manager is easy to work with.

GREAT manager to work with.Cabin location was perfect.

Just arrived back from this wonderful cabin in the woods(500 acres of it). There's so much good to say about it that I wouldn't have enough space here to write it.Some key highlights of our vacation were first and foremost was the manager. She was the best one I've ever dealt with. She was so professional, friendly and informational about the property and the surrounding area. The beds were very comfortable. We all had great night sleeps with the cool air gently blowing in the windows and listening to crickets and frogs in the distance. Then waking up to the morning with birds singing. It was so peaceful and relaxing sitting on the patio in the mornings with our coffeeThe ponds on the property were great to walk around.NO MOSQUITOES.For casino lovers,it's just about three miles away.Grand Traverse Bay was about 15 minutes away. For older guests, like my mother. There was only two steps to get in the cabin plus bedrooms and bathrooms on the first floor.I will definitely be renting this again and be telling people I know about it.
