About Cathy

I was brought up in Leeds and have all my family still there in Horsforth- but been here since I decided windsurfing and water sports were better pastimes! Uni then at Portsmouth and shortly after married Andy- an 'Islander' and enjoyed bringing up our 3 children (now youngest is 18) here. Tea Tree is a long term investment we use for its great access to the beach with our dog, and possibly later on we will live permanently live there when we don't need spaces for 5 cars!.

Cathy purchased this house in 1991

Why Cathy chose Ryde

This house is 2 doors from my first home on the island, and we love the location, the space, and homeliness. Simeon Street has beautiful cute architecture, and a bohemian feel and reputation. The house itself is like a Tardis- when you walk in it just keeps growing on you.

What makes this house unique

Tea Tree has style, character and the location is tremendously convenient for the Town Centre, and the facilities on the Beach front. I love going to the Waterside swimming pool, and walking the dog on the beach (only specific areas after in Summer). I hope you love it too and come back year after year.

An island treasure!

  • 5 of 5

Charming property well equipped and clean. Great location for beach and town. Comfortable sitting room and nice selection of books and puzzles. Owners provide parking permits which is great - be careful to display at all times as if you park on other side of the road from the house even on a Sunday you’ll get a ticket without the permit on display - we were caught out! All in all a great house which we would definitely return to at any time of the year

Absolutely brilliant

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for us and we enjoyed being near both the beach and the shops. No problem parking and use of the beach hut made a day at the beach so easy. We would recommend this house to any family wanting a good place to stay on IOW but won't in case it gets fully booked when we want to return !!!

Another lovely stay in Ryde! Tea Tree Cottage is perfect as it has wonderful access to the sandy beach in Ryde, plus is walkable to restaurants and the town itself. The property has bags of charm and the owners are wonderfully helpful. We will be returning!

Sweet cottage near the beach

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed 3 nights in Tea Tree Cottage over Easter. Cathy, the owner, was so sweet and had flowers, chocolates, bread and milk waiting for us upon arrival. The house is just a few minutes walk to the beach and town which made getting around without a car easy.

The house was very comfortable for 6 adults and 2 kids.

Thanks for the stay!

It was a perfect house for a family holiday,

The house was clean and well furnished and a perfect location with the beach, the recreation ground and the pub just minutes away. You can also walk to the center of the town and to the pier to catch the catamaran or the hovercraft to the mainland.
