As a kid I have many fond memories of this place- Christmas dinner, Easter egg hunts, swimming and watching baseball on TV with my Grandpa. I was lucky enough to get to live here with my Grandpa for a few years while I was in college. I told him I wanted to buy the place-he thought I was crazy. Somehow it all worked out that in 2003 I got the unique opportunity to own this place. Everyday there are amazing encounters with nature and a peaceful and serene setting that renews your spirit.
Karen Devine purchased this house in 1957
Grandma and Grandpa Devine bought this property in 1957 and then built the house 3 years later.
Sitting on the dock, kayak or lawn chair you are surrounded by nature and it is rejuvenating. Swimming in this lake you don't have any boats to worry about. You can just swim or float for hours and enjoy the serenity. Every season has its unique characteristics and each is dramatic and magical.
I found this home while searching for a place to stay while traveling with my dogs. This is exactly what I hoped for!! Quiet and secluded home with plenty of outdoor space for the dogs. The landscaping is beautiful and we had wildlife visiting us everyday. The bird feeder was always busy with many types of colorful birds. We were also visited every day by a pair of ducks, bunnies and squirrels. The lake is gorgeous and use of the kayaks was appreciated. We spent many evenings outdoors, grilling, sitting at the bonfire and relaxing. The home was very clean when we arrived and Karen was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this home!
We loved this place! Spacious, functional and clean! We needed a pet friendly rental and we are/were so fortunate to have found this place. We had some issues with the TVs, but quickly realized that there was so much more to do both inside and out than to spend our time watching TV. We enjoyed the games that were available, the fire pit and spent so much time in the water. Thanks Karen!
We've been traveling to this area for years and always wondered about the quiet little house on the private lake. We felt so fortunate to find it here on VRBO. This is a wonderful, quaint little hideaway. I wouldn't call it fancy, but it was exactly what we had hoped it would be. A safe, clean and warm home right by a huge recreational area. The lake and trails around here are wonderful for exploring. Can't say enough about how responsive and helpful Karen was as well. She even mailed me a pair of shoes I left by mistake. We will be returning again next year. Highly recommend.
Absolutely loved the place. Karen was an amazing host, Although I could not meet her every thing was coordinated very well. Petty safe neighborhood. We did not have any difficulties at all. Every necessity we needed was provided (even canoes, boats, life jackets). We were a large group of people with parents over 60yrs. They found the stay very comfortable and loved waking up to lake views. Karen has taken the effort to decorate the house with many books, movies, games, sreens and intricate details that make the place ideal for an enjoyable relaxing weekend.
We stayed at the secluded lakefront getaway for our son's graduation from the University of Michigan. We had multi generations stay for the weekend, from a 3 year old to a73 year old. It fit the bill perfectly for all of us. Our teenage boys stayed in the man cave garage, which was a nice separate space for them. We had time to relax by the lake. It was a perfect fit. We would recommend this property to anyone.
we stayed for a wknd had a very nice time the owner karen worked very hard to accomadate us she was very freindly and everything needed is in house.better than pictures and lots of birds.
