About Lucia

I am Lucia, 60 years old. I am married with Piero and I have 2 children....Dario, 27 years old and Diana 25 years old. We are the owners of an appliance store and electronics in Viareggio, the city where we live. In winter we spend our weekend in this beautiful house.

Lucia purchased this chateau / country house in 2007

Why Lucia chose Massarosa

Because it's a magic place. For many years I looked for a house with sea view and this had a spectacular view. The house is typically Tuscan, and the small village has a special atmosphere and a great quiet. All the windows of the house have sea views. The house was built in 1892 ..... and I love old things !!!

spacious and well equipped

This is a large house on 4 levels. It is well equipped with furniture and utensiles. The host is very friendly.

The access with car is a little difficlt and it takes half an hour driving to get to beach.

To begin get a good GPS because the house is pretty hard to locate and the road pretty curvy!! Once we got there we were greeted by Lucia with a warm welcome and a welcoming basket containing pasta, pasta sauce, bread , fresh tomatoes etc. The house is very well kept and super clean. Everything you may need is there and everything works smoothly. The six of us found our room to be very comfortable and there is good parking space once you get used to the very narrow street .The view from the house is simply stunning and there are plenty of chairs outside with a superb BBQ. The house is about 10 minutes from restos and grocery store. Conad is a very well supplied grocery store and it has everything you may need. Do not miss the (coffee shop ) Bar Misericordia downtown. Their cappuccinos are simply delicious and will be served with an artistic chocolate design. Good choice of excellent pastry if you get in early enough. The rest on the other side of the parking is called if I am correct resto 5. In any case you can eat a good meal at a very decent price. The beaches and stores of Viareggio are not to be missed and are 15 minutes from the house. Pisa, Florence and Lucca are easily accessed by car and are well worth visiting. We truly loved Lucca and Pisa. We took the train to Rome and found it much better than by car. Do not forget to validate your ticket before boarding. Overall we had a great time at Lucia's house and we do not hesitate to recommend it. Thanks Lucia for keeping such a gem available to us.

Nice and well-equipped house with a beautiful panoramic view. Only 15 min. by car to the beach of Viareggio.Very nice owners. Own parking by house and cosy garden. The village is very calm and charm. Shopping possibility nearby. A welcome pack for preparing ilalian spaghetti was a nice surprise from Lucia. The location of the house allows to visit the famous cities of Tuscany because of the quick conection to the higway.

Recomended for: Family with children, Hiking, Sightseeing, Romantic vacationes, Nature lovers.

Plenty of Space and Great View

  • 4 of 5

The house is well-equipped and spacious (for a family of five) and the view is great. Getting into the parking place near the house the first time can be a bit of a challenge. We tended to use the beach in Torre del Lago, which is about 25 mins by car. Fam. Walsh, Germany. Lucia was most helpful whenever needed.

Owner's Response: The first time, for someone can be difficult to park with a big car.....but only the first time....In a small village to have a parking in front of the house is very convenient. Also the beach in Viareggio is very beautiful and which is about 15 mins by car. Ciao Lucia.

10 perfect weeks

  • 5 of 5

This old Italian house was perfect to spend our long holiday. There was everything we needed. We came by our own car from Finland and it was nice to have own parking place near the house. The garden and the yard are cosy and spacious. Panorama is exellent and beautiful, you can find nice walking and hiking routes nearby. If we needed something, owners were always kind and helpfull.

Thank you Lucia, we would recommend your house any time!!!!!

Beautifully restored Tuscan country home

  • 5 of 5

We could feel the past as we lived out our Tuscan holiday, visiting some of the many destinations in the region and returning to our comfortable and peaceful refuge in the hills at the day's end to watch the sun set and dine under the grape arbor. The kitchen is adequately equipped and became the center of indoor activity. But the terrace and the grape arbor gave us plenty of space for outdoor eating/lounging, etc.

Lucia welcomed us with the most wonderful bread I've eaten in all my years living here in Italy, along with some other characteristic goodies. She was always available as travel guide and advice-giver. We enjoyed the free beach with dunes and a pine wood in the background, just south of Viareggio's port.

It was all very romantic and tranquil, and the panorama is wonderful. The home worked well for the two young children, however, being in the hills means not having a football field nearby :)

All in all, a memorable holiday and home! We are considering returning there again, even in the off-season. Thanks, Lucia!
