The next best thing to living there is to have a gorgeous vacation home in one of the neatest places on Earth so we can visit when we can! And so can you:)
R & C Lucas purchased this house in 2012
Zion, Bryce, the Grand Canyon, and all the other unbelievably neat places all within a day trip of the house:) Gorgeous scenery, neat and comfy house, rural and quiet, yet close to amenities - perfect.
Imagine being on a neat redwood deck overlooking a vast and unreal surrounding full of fantastic shapes and wonders. The Cedar Tree Forests are filled with wildlife. The Choke Cherry bushes are dripping with ripened cherries. The birds sing and the Eagles soar. It is a heaven on Earth to us.
The location can't be beat! The house is big and gorgeous! AND the scenery is breath taking!
I wanted to let you know that we had an incredible time in your beyond fabulous home. My family and I could not have asked for a more wonderful vacation destination. Your home was so cozy, comfortable, clean and fully equipped. The views were not to be believed!! We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit and night time sky and our morning visits from those adorable blue birds. My sister-in-law and I each intend to write a glowing review on Flip Key if that will be helpful to you. I have so many positive things to say, I hardly know where to start. Our stay in your home exceeded our expectations ten-fold.
Thank you again for such a wonderful stay. I would recommend your home a hundred times over. If you could advise me on how to leave a review, I would appreciate it as I have never utilized Flip Key before. Thank you again for such an amazing experience.
Have a wonderful spring in such a beautiful place that I never knew existed.
The house is clean, has plenty of space, nice open floor plan on both floors. You have an awesome view of the Zion mountains from the back deck, for both sunrise and sunset.
We grilled on the back deck while watching the sunsets and amazing electrical storms roll in at night.
It really is 10 mins from the Zion entrance and driving distance to a local food store and local restaurants.
The Zion Hideaway House was beautiful. It is off a main road and no close neighbors. It is very clean and well kept. There are grills on the deck and we cooked out several times. Sitting out on the deck looking at all the landscape for miles around was wonderful. At night just being able to see the stars and the Milky Way was amazing. There are 5 large bedrooms which was great. Another nice touch is laundry facilities which allowed us to come home with clean clothes. In the lower level is there is a furnished game room great for the kids and husbands. There is a wonderful large eat in kitchen. Terry"s grocery store in Orderville is large and if you are going to visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon the grocery store there in Kanab is very large. There are so many sight to see that are a short drive from the house. We saw everything to see that was within a few hours drive. As suggested we did go to the Thunderbird restaurant and it was very good. It is on the corner of 89 and route 9. We also visited the German Bakery located on Route 89 was also very good. Hard to stay from those pastries. The beauty of the National Parks as well as the State Parks was amazing such beauty and good hiking! Cell phone service is very weak but that was nice. There is wi-fi service. I highly recommend this house for a vacation house. It has everything you will need.

Well maintained home in East Zion near Mount Carmel Junction. We had a great stay! The adults hung out upstairs while the kids loved playing downstairs with the video games, pool table, air hockey, and Foos ball Table. There was plenty of space for family dinners on the spacious deck. In the evening we would have a bonfire, roast marshmallows and watch the stars in the sky. The home is fully stocked and the owners are very helpful. The home has comfortable rooms with lots of closet storage space. If you have kids or teens, they will love this place. But it is also very nice for adults.
The location is somewhat remote (which we liked) but central to many National & State parks. It is a short drive to that East gate of Zion Park. But to get to the main area of Zion (the visitor center and shuttle) it is closer to a 25 minute drive. The drive is very scenic and you get to drive through the tunnel.
We also drove to Bryce National Park and we are so happy we made the drive. It was a very scenic drive about 1 hour & 15 minutes away.
Do your grocery shopping before you arrive at the Zion hideaway house. There are no close grocery stores. In addition, Utah has very strict alcohol laws. Bring your own beverages if you plan to have a drink.
We ate at the Thunderbird diner at Mt. Carmel Junction, which is very close and we had a great meal.
Great house. Super location. Clean and well supplied. Our family had a great time. Nice recreation options in basement. Senic views. Super communication with owner. Highly recommend.
Clean and well maintained.
Close to Zion Park and sand dunes.
Nine hiking trails close by.
Fire pit safe and convient.
The location was allowed us to access Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, and Escalante National Parks for a week of epic hiking (and one backpacking) trips. The property was very spacious, comfortable, and well equipped, as we prepared several breakfasts and dinners. But what we enjoyed was the location was in a remote location that afforded lots of privacy and great sunrises. We were even happy that the cellular coverage was very poor (like the Southern Utah back country. It was nice to be off of the Internet Grid...! We experienced a very large, but brief severe storm that disrupted power in the entire Eastern Zion region. We corresponded with the owners during the blackout as they were very concerned with our comfort and safety. Great owners....! If you're looking for a centralize, quiet and remote location....The Zion Hideaway is where to be.
My wife and I stayed here for five days with our adult kids and significant others. Seven people total. Plenty of room for all. Great location for exploring Zion, Bryce, and Grand Canyon National Parks. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed when we returned in the evening from a day in the parks.
As other reviewers note, cell service was spotty. A phone with AT&T service worked on the back deck but Verizon phones did not have reception. Probably not a big deal since this general area is a good place to visit to unplug and disconnect. The Thunderbird in Mt Carmel Jct has computers that we used to print boarding passes for our flight home.
Recommend the Thunderbird Restaurant in Mt. Carmel Jct, the German Bakery in Orderville, and Cowboy Butte in Fredonia (AZ) if you make the drive to the Grand Canyon.
Location, Location, Location!
From this house enjoy Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, the Grand Escalante National Monument, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Moqui Cave, Red Canyon, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Brian Head Ski Resort, Duck Creek, Navajo Lake, Lake Powell, Kanab Movie Town, various slot canyons and on and on...
You could head out in a different direction everyday for a month and not even come close to seeing it all!
For your convenience - we leave an ITINERARY SUGGESTION print-out in the house - Have fun!
AND a beautiful 9 hole golf course within 3 minutes of the property!
Also Maynard Dixon Famous Art Gallery only about 7 minutes away ~ Enjoy!
