Whitefish House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 BR, 2BA (Sleeps 6-8)

You will fine our holiday home near town, near the base of the ski mountain and a stroll from whitefish lake, looking out to a nature reserve. It has just had a complete up-date and is clean and tidy for your exciting summer or winter vacation in famous whitefish.

The home features a large living room with flat screen led TV & Bluetooth DVD player and views into the large backyard and the mountains in the near distance. The open kitchen is fully equipped with new gas stove, high grade cookware and plenty of dishes and glassware. The dining area has a big table to accommodate your group.

The master suite has a king bed and big dresser. It also has plenty of pillows, bedding, and towels as well as private bathroom with tub and shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third has a desk and twin beds. The second bathroom with tub and shower is conveniently near these bedrooms. The large laundry area off the kitchen has big washer and dryer and space for extra gear.

The infra-red BBQ is easy to use and to clean. The double garage has plenty of space for ski storage and convenient entrance into the laundry area.

If you are staying in our cozy home in winter: the drive to whitefish ski resort is only 12 miles. However, you will find the ski shuttle just two blocks up the road at alpine market. The ice arena is just there as well as gas station, espresso kiosk, DVD rental, beauty salon and other shops. Within 1/2 mi. Dine at McGarry's or lovely whitefish lake lodge. Many other dining options are in town within 1-5 miles. Local live theater is very active throughout the year. The local aquatics center, the wave, is first class for exercise and water enjoyment. The local bowling alley is a great place for all ages and you can always catch a movie at the cinema at the mall.

If you are a summertime guest: a stroll or bike ride to city beach in the morning is a must... You will want to have a swim or enjoy paddle-boarding or kayaking. Then, perhaps, a game of golf at famous whitefish golf course, our municipal course featuring 36 holes on 2 courses! For another day, try a gondola ride up the mountain and then a hike down! There are bike trails through-out the town and area. Fishing, boating, rafting are all easily accessible and there is a water park just 10 miles away for the children.

Less than an hour away is glacier national park which is open from around June 15-sept.15 each year. This world wonder must not be missed and can be enjoyed in a day trip or over and over for a life-time!

About Linda Vidanage

We are world travelers who appreciate the unique vacation package that whitefish has to offer year-around. When not in residence here, we spend time in bozeman and in New Zealand....More of the 'last best places' on earth.

Linda Vidanage purchased this house in 2012

Why Linda Vidanage chose Montana

As native Montanans, we have vacationed in Whitefish since the 1950's and watched it develop into the world-class destination it is today. How lucky we are to have a home here to share with others!

What makes this house unique

The unique benefit of this destination is that it is world class but in a small town where convenience to everything and the friendliness of the locals makes it just that much better.

Nice place to stay; felt just like home.

The property was well maintained and a great stay for the 5 of us. We enjoyed being able to walk outside and sit on the patio. The house is very comfortable and I appreciated the phone call from the house manager prior to our arrival offering any late night access/transportation help if our Amtrak train did not arrive on time. None was needed, the train arrived as expected and the rental car pickup at the train station worked out well.

Nilagiri is a very cozy, comfortable house close in to the town and all of the Whitefish amenities.

My wife and I spent six weeks this summer at Nilagiri and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was clean and well maintained and the owner very responsive to a couple of issues that arose. The VRBO listing accurately describes the property and its features. We would definitely stay there again and, in fact, have reserved it for another shorter visit in September.

This was our second year staying at Nilagiri. The new patio was great for dining and grilling. Perfect home for family get together. Close to the Lake, City Beach, and downtown allowed us and grandkids to walk places. Comfortable beds and big yard for games. We have put our name in for another August rental in 2016.

Great for families

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for an affordable, clean, well-kept home for your stay in Whitefish, this is it. Although we stayed for only four nights, the house had everything we needed and was in a great location near the Whitefish Lodge and the ski hill. We will definitely stay here again!

Perfect for my vacation

  • 5 of 5

I rented this place for a little over a month. The owner Linda was respectful and helpful throughout my whole stay.

As far as the house goes, it is in a very peaceful neighborhood. There was a ton of snow that fell during one week and the driveway was always plowed. The neighbors are nice and we're always welcoming.

The area of Whitefish and Kalispell have everything you need. I will definitely rent from Linda again.
