3 Story, Reverse Floor Plan With Unobstructed Views Of The Beach And Ocean.
About Mary LeCates
My husband, Danny, and I have lived in the same small town in Delaware all our lives. We share our home with our two chocolate labs, Remi and Flash, and a calico cat, Callie. Our 2 children and 5 grandchildren live nearby.
Mary LeCates purchased this House in 2009
Why Mary LeCates chose Rodanthe
KaCee's Retreat is our dream come true! We love to spend time here with our children, grandchildren, and chocolate labs. We first vacationed on Hatteras Island about 13 years ago and instantly fell in love with the area. When we stayed in Rodanthe 10 years ago, we knew we had found the perfect vacation spot! We decided to take the leap and make our dream of owning a beach house a reality. We sincerely hope that our guests enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of Hatteras Island as much as we do.
What makes this House unique
We love that KaCee's Retreat is so close to the beach and has fantastic views of the ocean. With our large family, the 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms are a big plus! Our favorite things to do are walking on the beach looking for unusual shells and sea glass, and just relaxing and watching the ever-changing ocean.

My dream vacation
I've always wanted to stay somewhere I could see and hear the ocean! I finally got my dream to come true. And I picked the perfect house to do it in. We watched the dolphins and various birds from the deck each day. Everything we needed was provided/ loved the deck furniture. Our 2 Corgis also had a wonderful time. Very pet friendly with sturdy gates. Excellent response from both homeowner and maintenance team. Will be back!
The house was immaculate. Great setup for family together times, and also room for privacy. Well stocked kitchen. Lovely views. The owner was super helpful and promptly answered all questions. Would highly recommend for sure.
Two things I might add are : There were no towels provided, which was a surprise, since when we have rented houses before, there were towels.and the remote for one of the rooms was missing.
Overall though...These were small concerns compared to all other great amenities like 2 refrigerators, ice machine, and the cleanliness and well maintained property.
Thank you Mary and David for a great stay.
Family Christmas Vacation
We had a wonderful time in this home. The kitchen was adequately stocked to prepare a Christmas dinner for 8. My family traveled from Canada for our holiday and a fun time was had by all. We were very fortunate with the weather. The dolphin watching was the deck keep us all entertained. We would consider staying in this perfect home next year!
The Perfect Place
So grateful to be able to spend Thanksgiving week in this lovely home - so dog friendly - with a new dog run addition - perfect! Nice a quiet location, with plenty of beach, great views, and all of the comforts of home!!
We had a wonderful time, the house is beautiful and very well maintained. It has everything you need to make your stay perfect. Great views and only a short distance to the beach make it the perfect location.
We have been coming for many years and never had anything to worry or complain, i can only highly recommend the house, location and property owners to anybody looking to spend some time on OBX
Coming back here for sure.
We would highly recommend this amazing house. It is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to feel at home. We enjoyed the beautiful views from the two ocean front decks and easy access to the beach. There is close access to a sidewalk for walking and biking to stores and restaurants in this quaint area.
Hatteras Island is a beautiful, narrow strip of land between the Atlantic Ocean and Pamlico Sound. You won't want to miss exploring the Hatteras Island Lighthouse, Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, and Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. In Rodanthe, you'll find the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Museum and the Civil War Battle of Chicamacomico Races. There are excellent restaurants in the tri-village area of Rodanthe, Waves, and Salvo, as well as in Avon and Buxton. If you visit Ocracoke Island to the south, Howard's Pub is a must. The Oregon Inlet Marina, where you can book a charter for gulf-stream fishing, is just a short drive away. The Town of Manteo on Roanoke Island is only a 30 minute drive from Rodanthe. Visit the North Carolina Aquarium, enjoy the outdoor play at The Lost Colony, and explore the beautiful Elizabethan Gardens. Parasailing is available at the Manteo Waterfront.
