Osborne House

Osborne House is a magnificent 350 year old Cornish town house which, in the 1800s, was originally a the home of a wealthy merchant. During the last century is was a sweet shop and more recently a thriving restaurant. Today it is a fully restored family home, retaining many original features including wooden beams - one of which is reputed to have come from the defeated Spanish Armada. The house is set in the heart of East Looe - ideally situated yards from the sandy beach, historic harbour, cafes and restaurants. This coastal location in South-East Cornwall is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is a perfect retreat for anyone looking to escape from the urban hustle & bustle. The house sleeps up to 12 and is ideal for family holidays, birthday parties, group or reunions.

In 2014 Osborne House was given a five star ranking from Visit Britain and won a gold award for outstanding quality. Nearby parking for 2 cars is included.

Large self catering characterful houses sleeping 9 to 12 in 5 bedrooms

Located among the quaint old streets of East Looe, Lantau Cottage and Osborne House are immaculately presented historic houses dating back between 350 and 400 years. Both properties are very well equipped for modern day living yet each is steeped in a rich history with many original features including beamed and gabled ceilings and offer discerning guests a flavour of days long gone. With quality furniture and soft furnishings throughout, guests will appreciate the attention to detail. The houses are normally let from Saturday to Saturday during the peak season but we offer long weekend breaks during other times. The houses are ideally situated just a few paces from East Looe’s sandy beach, historic harbour and many cafes, bars and restaurants. These are no-smoking properties and we regret that we can't take pets. Each house has nearby parking for 2 cars including 1 space in the beachside carkpark and one in the Millpool carkpark.

We have stayed in Looe several times but never stayed in the town - what a fantastic find Osborne House is. We are a family of 9 ranging from big kids (30 somethings) to even bigger kids (60 somethings). Not sure who had more fun playing table football or who was worse at table tennis but we had such a laugh playing both. The house is in such a perfect position and very well equipped. The front door takes a bit of getting used to when locking it but we soon got the hang of the jiggle.

Sally (the housekeeper) met us on arrival and was very friendly and helpful and we really appreciated the house being ready for us earlier than the check-in time.

Looe is a fantastic place with a gorgeous beach, lovely town and lots of places to eat - recommend The Sail Loft, Smugglers Cott & Kitchenside. We went on the glass bottomed boat and it was amazing to see the seals in the ocean. Had a magical holiday with an amazing family in a beautiful house. Another year where fantastic memories were made. Thank-you.

The house is perfectly located in East Looe's old town with the beach at one end of the street and the harbour at the other end. The house is within easy walking distance of the town's many restaurants and cafes (the nearest award winning restaurant is at the end of the street - less than two minutes away).

Perfect base in a lovely house

Stayed here in June with family. The house is one of the most well equipped I have experienced. Lovely rooms and a bonus having ensuite facilities.

The dining table was great and really lovely. The whole house is spacious and well presented. We especially enjoyed the table football and table tennis.

Location was perfect, just moments from the beach and surrounded by shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous Cottage in the heart of Looe - very well equipped

Osborne House was brilliant - every possible utensil you might need, from pasta strainers to children's crockery there was nothing that we wished we 'd had.

Lots of space and plenty of room for our daughter to perfect her walking.

Very clean and well maintained with a laundry refresh half way through our fortnight's stay.

I'd highly recommend staying there - very comfortable and of course, perfectly located.

A really great cottage

We really enjoyed our stay in Osbourne house, both the property itself and the location, right in the middle of everything and a stones throw from the water, were perfect for our family group. The house itself was excellent, everything we needed and all the rooms a good size with plenty of bathrooms. All round very good

Great house and perfect location

We had a great stay at Osborne House. It's huge, all the rooms are very spacious and the gorgeous kitchen is perfect for family meals. The location was fantastic, being only a 1 minute walk to the beach and all the shops and pubs in Looe. We were a bit worried about parking but it was straight forward and we parked our additional car easily and it wasn't too expensive. Would stay again.

A fantastic family holiday cottage

Osborne House is fantastic for a family base. Right in the middle of East Looe, close to the beach and great places to eat. The accommodation standard is top class. There is plenty of room for a couple of families and it's a real home from home in terms of equipment. We will definitely be back!
