Our Families "Amburgey" heritage is Appalachian. Our love for the Mountains, Western North Carolina's Rivers and it's abundance of natural organic materials is reflected in our design. Enjoy
This Log home's location and title, was inspired by the oil painting, “Following The River”, by Robert Duncan.
The pictorial imagery of Native Americans on horseback crossing a wintery river's edge could secretly come to life in this uniquely tranquil, unobstructed river view. The Tuckaseeggee River’s abundant wild life and its degrees of strength, are breathtaking and worth the perch.

Real custom Log, Easy accesses to river,
Wow. This place goes down on my list of favorite places to be. If there were a 6-star option, I would have chosen that. My family of 6 stayed the weekend here and had a blast. There is a beautiful 2-faced fireplace that we utilized every night. The house is lavishly decorated with old books, games, American Indian decor, and art. We loved that it didn't feel sterile. It was like something out of a movie. The caretaker is very sweet and went above and beyond (including prepping the fireplaces) to make us feel comfortable. Nearby, there is a little town….if you want to get out and have a beer at the brewery, antique, or eat great food. It is the perfect place to just getaway and sip hot tea, read a book, and enjoy the beautiful views. I can't wait to plan our next visit!!!
We checked in with the "House keeper", which stays there on the property. I know that kind of is a turn off for most people and I will admit I was skeptical at first but she does not bother you at one time which is kind of comforting to have someone there if something doesn't work. Her name is Doris and I actually ended up leaving some of my personal belongings and she mailed them to me. Fishing wasn't all that great right in front of the home as we did not catch anything but there's so many places on the way to the cabin for pullover spots. The fresh air porch is awesome. The pictures of the cabin can be a little deceiving you do not have access to the lower portion of the cabin only the upper half. Overall our experience at the cabin was awesome it was worth the visit. Thank you Mrs Doris for everything.
Great location to enjoy all the attractions. Rustic cabin with all the comforts of home and a very nice caretaker.
That being said, all the beds were old and very saggy. The wifi went out several times. Getting off the property was extremely dangerous due to it being on a blind curve (busy highway) with tall hedges.
Overall 3 stars
Had a wonderful time! They need to put something for people to hold on to going down the steps to grassy area.
My fiancé and family had a stay at your enchanted cabin by the river's bend. Doris was very hospitable to us when we arrived and greeting us by showing us around the property. The cabin was so much more then the pictures made it appear. We thoroughly enjoyed setting by the river, the sounds of nature were very soothing, relaxing and it seemed to take has away for all the hustle and bustle of our normal lives. I would recommend this vacation spot to my friends and family. It was perfectly situated location for all the actives that we desired to do while on vacation in the Great Smoky Mountains. However, we did noticed some yellow jackets building homes in the dogs on the front porch. We were able to do some fishing, but then the dam above the cabin was open which made it difficult to wade in for fishing.I felt that the beds were a little large for the rooms because we were had to climb into them from the foot of them. The couch upstairs was broke, but we were still able to sit on it. The views from the cabin windows were remarkable. I am looking forward to a deck to be built on the back of the house, which would make the cabin even more enjoyable.I feel as though a shower in the bathroom downstairs would be more convenient. I would come back an stay at the cabin in the future.
We are centrally located to the entrance of the Smoky Mountain National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherokee's Harrahs Casino & Golf course, Downtown Bryson City's shops, restaurants, and Smoky Mountain Railroad Train Depot. We are 15 minutes from the NOC-Nantahala Outdoor center with its Class 1-3 whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, learning programs, zip lining, and world-class mountain biking trails. Hike the Smokies Appalachian Trail, the Nantahala Gorge, Joyce Kilmer Memorial forests, and the many waterfalls and adventures located at our cabin's back door.
