Fleetwood House Rental Photos and Description

A Chef's Dream and Incredible Outdoor Space.

This luxury mountain home was completed fall 2012 and complimented with every amenity we could think of. Designed with the outdoor nature lover in mind, we have over 1000 sq. ft of covered porch with a large fireplace. You will not want to come inside!

But if you do, you'll find a gourmet kitchen with Thermador and Bosch stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, 2 sinks, and completely equipped with everything the most discerning chef needs. We have 2 master suites on the main level with king size beds with luxury designer linens. Both master baths have custom tile showers and granite countertops.

Upstairs is a loft with an attached bunk room and another large tile bath with garden tub/shower combo. The small bunk room is separated from the loft with a curtained doorway and has 2 queen beds.

There are 4 flat screen TV's with DirecTV; one in the living room and one in each bedroom.

Unlike many properties, this is a full service rental with high speed wireless internet, free long distance, high end furnishings....even the bath products and kitchen staples are provided! Just pack your bags and get ready for some quality downtime.

The location is remote yet convenient. We are located at the end of the road on a secluded 2 acre lot. You have the privacy of a totally wooded retreat yet you are only minutes to Boone or West Jefferson (approximately 12 miles to either). Be aware, however, that you will need 4WD or AWD year-round to access this home.

Snow skiing is only 30 minutes away, river rafting 15 minutes. The parkway is less than 2 miles away; great for biking, hiking or just Sunday driving.

This home is an ideal adult getaway or family gathering space, however we do not rent our home for events. And as much as we love our fine furry friends, we regret that pets are not permitted. When inquiring please provide the information VRBO suggests; such as a little about yourself, what brings you to our area, and who you traveling with, etc. Owners like to know who is potentially staying in their home!!

Accessibility: There is just over 2.5 miles of gravel roadway into the property with a very steep driveway. AWD or 4WD required year round!

***Check our calendar for availability. Please note the indoor wood stove is not available for use.

About Becky Cronin

We are North Carolina residents and love visiting this home when we can. It should feel as much like home to you, our guest, as it does to us. We enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, checking out the local music scene, and floating on the New River. We have traveled extensively, but our heart lies in the Blue Ridge mountains.

Becky Cronin purchased this house in 2012

Why Becky Cronin chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

This is our second build on this mountain. We loved the first cabin so much, we knew we wanted a custom designed home with high quality amenities. We chose a 2 acre prime lot and started to work! The Arrow C is now a dream come true for us. The name originated decades ago with my grandfather, Roy Carey. He was a large animal veterinarian in Washington and ran a ranch near Ellensburg, just over the Snoqualmie Pass from Seattle. The Arrow C Ranch was a place he loved dearly, and I him.....and so the name lives on.

What makes this house unique

The outdoor space here is AMAZING. Sit and watch the sun come up with your coffee as the deer saunter by. Enjoy fireside dinners and the log porch swing. Give the Bimini Ring Toss game a try and perfect your game!

Stunningly beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time, even the rain from Hurricane Matthew couldn't dampen the beauty of this home! It offered every thing you could think of, and my friends teased me that it sure didn't look like we were "roughing" it up in a mountain cabin! Next time we'll be sure to stay longer! Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. And yes, you absolutely have to have 4 wheel drive.

Owner's Response: Thank you Sharon! I'm sorry it rained on your parade, but glad you were able to make the best of it "roughing it" at The Arrow C! :-) Thanks so much for treating our home as your own....we do hope that you can return and stay longer. And also, a BIG thank you for the 4WD plug. We are often questioned on that, and those that don't heed the advice have quite a hike! All the best to you and your family! Becky

Beautiful, relaxing, oasis

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time with our family of 5. The house was gorgeous in a beautiful setting. We were far enough away from the mainstream but could easily enjoy Boone, and charming Blowing Rock. We spent lots of time cozier up in the outdoor porch next to the fire. We would definitely stay there again

Owner's Response: Thank you Shannon. The outdoor fireplace on the porch is our favorite hang out as well. What better way to start the day than to enjoy all the sights and sounds of nature. It's that peaceful, serene location that I think our guests really love.

This place is as amazing as it looks in the pictures...

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I use VRBO fairly often to find places to stay when we travel. I can honestly say that this home is the nicest we've stayed in. Not only is it beautiful and comfortable (inside and out) but the owners have thought of absolutely everything that their guests could possibly want or need during their stay. From bath essentials to firewood, it's all there. And the kitchen....well, let me say that I just wish my kitchen at home was as nice and well-equipped!

I will add though that I have read a couple of reviews from people who said that they were able to negotiate the road/driveway without AWD/4WD: Don't count on that! The night before we left the "check engine" light came on in the AWD vehicle that we had arranged to borrow. My husband was not comfortable using it under the circumstances so we had no choice but to take our front wheel drive SUV. We made it to the bottom of the driveway but could get no further. Needless to say, we had to haul all of our luggage and groceries up the steep drive. All four of us are relatively fit and able so it was not a deal-breaker but expect the same result if you don't heed the warning about 4WD/AWD.

Driveway issues aside, we had a fabulous week at Arrow C. Becky was a pleasure to work with and her quick responses to my inquiries were appreciated. If you're considering this home, make your reservation today before it gets booked up. You will not be disappointed! (And, if you are lucky, you might even get to see a bear!)

Owner's Response: Thank you Lynn. We're happy you enjoyed your time away relaxing at The Arrow C. There are so many things to do and see in the area that you will certainly need a return trip.....hopefully with no vehicle issues! Thanks again! Becky

Absolutely amazing vacation home

  • 5 of 5

Renting a vacation home is always a bit of a gamble, but not with the Arrow C! The owners, Becky and Pat, were great to deal with and were more than helpful with a very quick response time when I had any questions. The house itself was simply amazing and the pictures, although accurate, don't do it justice when you are actually there. The peace and serenity, along with the views of the property, were breathtaking. The house was well stocked with everything you need, plus a whole lot that you wouldn't have thought of. The cleanliness of the house was impressive, as well as how comfortable the furniture and beds are. I was initially concerned about the travel time to civilization, but was assured by Becky that we were near modern conveniences, if we wanted to leave the property. Although Boone and West Jefferson were only 20-25 minutes away, I found that I wanted to stay on the property and relax more than I wanted to go out. The hummingbirds were a blast to watch, and the Bimini Toss game became addictive. My wife and I felt that this was more than a rental, and felt at home the entire time we were there. Take the 4wd recomendation seriously, as it is needed to access the property, but easily doable with the appropriate vehicle. Driving through the neighborhood for a few miles will bring you right to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which was a wonderful drive into Blowing Rock. Sitting outside was always peaceful and quiet, and the abundant wildlife was entertaining. I would give this rental more than 5 stars if I could, as I cannot say enough about how great it was. Thank you Becky and Pat for opening your home to us.

Owner's Response: Thank you Terry! Renting a vacation home can indeed be a gamble and I'm glad you placed your bet with us. We've used VRBO many times in the past ourselves and enjoy interacting with a homeowner much more than with a rental company. And as the owner, I must say it's always a relief to know you have good people taking care of your home! We so appreciate it. Thanks for passing the word to potential guests on the need for 4WD. It may not be easy to get there, but worth it when you do. Perfect your ring toss and come back when you can! Becky

Our stay was wonderful. The cabin kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Just bring coffee, filters, tea and your food and you are set for a week of beauty and relaxation. We had our 16 month old grandbaby and her parents join us and we brought a temporary gate for the stairway and a Pac n play for her to sleep in the master bedroom . Everyone was very comfortable. The upstairs sleeping space would be great for older children. The rain and fog and sunshine slipping in and out made for a mystical setting. We enjoyed the games, puzzles and movies provided for fun. The deck is spacious and covered. We enjoyed seeing all the wildlife too. Thanks for sharing your amazing cabin with us.
