Overview

About the property

A Chef's Dream and Incredible Outdoor Space.

This luxury mountain home was completed fall 2012 and complimented with every amenity we could think of. Designed with the outdoor nature lover in mind, we have over 1000 sq. ft of covered porch with a large fireplace. You will not want to come inside!

But if you do, you'll find a gourmet kitchen with Thermador and Bosch stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, 2 sinks, and completely equipped with everything the most discerning chef needs. We have 2 master suites on the main level with king size beds with luxury designer linens. Both master baths have custom tile showers and granite countertops.

Upstairs is a loft with an attached bunk room and another large tile bath with garden tub/shower combo. The small bunk room is separated from the loft with a curtained doorway and has 2 queen beds.

There are 4 flat screen TV's with DirecTV; one in the living room and one in each bedroom.

Unlike many properties, this is a full service rental with high speed wireless internet, free long distance, high end furnishings....even the bath products and kitchen staples are provided! Just pack your bags and get ready for some quality downtime.

The location is remote yet convenient. We are located at the end of the road on a secluded 2 acre lot. You have the privacy of a totally wooded retreat yet you are only minutes to Boone or West Jefferson (approximately 12 miles to either). Just in case you missed it in the title, THIS PROPERTY CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED BY 4WD. Do NOT, under ANY circumstances, come to this home without the proper vehicle!

Snow skiing is only 30 minutes away, river rafting 15 minutes. The parkway is less than 2 miles away; great for biking, hiking or just Sunday driving.

This home is an ideal adult getaway or family gathering space, however we do not rent our home for events. And as much as we love our fine furry friends, we regret that pets are not permitted. When inquiring please provide the information VRBO suggests; such as a little about yourself, what brings you to our area, and who you traveling with, etc. Owners like to know who is potentially staying in their home. :-)

Accessibility: There is just over 2.5 miles of gravel roadway into the property with a very steep driveway. AWD or 4WD required year round...NO EXCEPTIONS.

***Check our calendar for availability. Please note the indoor wood stove is not available for use.

About Becky Cronin

We are North Carolina residents and love visiting this home when we can. It should feel as much like home to you, our guest, as it does to us. We enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, checking out the local music scene, and floating on the New River. We have traveled extensively, but our heart lies in the Blue Ridge mountains.

Becky Cronin purchased this house in 2012

Why Becky Cronin chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

This is our second build on this mountain. We loved the first cabin so much, we knew we wanted a custom designed home with high quality amenities. We chose a 2 acre prime lot and started to work! The Arrow C is now a dream come true for us. The name originated decades ago with my grandfather, Roy Carey. He was a large animal veterinarian in Washington and ran a ranch near Ellensburg, just over the Snoqualmie Pass from Seattle. The Arrow C Ranch was a place he loved dearly, and I him.....and so the name lives on.

What makes this house unique

The outdoor space here is AMAZING. Sit and watch the sun come up with your coffee as the deer saunter by. Enjoy fireside dinners and the log porch swing. Give the Bimini Ring Toss game a try and perfect your game!

Beautiful hideaway

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough about this property and its owners. Pics don't do it justice! Would go back in a heartbeat- beautiful well-appointed rooms, porch to die for, comfortable beds/linens, perfect loft for the kids!

Owner's Response: Thank you Gina. Yes! The covered porch is typically the crowd pleaser. Such a great place to just kick back with the family and slow down the pace a bit! Hope you can return and enjoy it again another time! All the best, Becky

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

Becky is a wonderful host - thoughtful and attentive. Property is beautiful, and location is very serene. Perfect place to get away, far enough from civilization. Close enough to coffee shops if you need a break from your getaway. Kitchen is very well stocked for those who want to cook/bake/create. And the space is spotless, very cozy with modern updates.

Word of warning for northerners - 4WD / AWD, yes absolutely. I thought I had rented this, but car rental agency gave me a standard by mistake. You will not make it up the hill in any weather without 4WD unless by dumb luck. I had dumb luck on the first try, and no luck on the second. Be warned!

The best house ever!

  • 5 of 5

Our experience with the Arrow C was absolutely wonderful. If you are trying to decide on which home to choose this is the one. Great for families. The outside fireplace and sitting area was delightful. Had all the conveniences of home, warm and comfortable feel and decorated beautifully. You might think at first outside of Boone, "maybe not" however the privacy is great and getting to Boone and Blowing Rock is an easy drive. You will be glad you rented this home . . . even though it is a rental it feels like a home. The owner was extremely helpful and prompt with needed communication and questions. We are already planning our next trip back to the Arrow C!! By far the best home we have rented and we have been visiting the area for years. Extremely happy renter. :)

Owner's Response: Thank you Penny!! We do try hard to make it feel more like home rather than a rental. We've rented our share of the typical "one pot, one pan" rental houses and been disappointed. And it's certainly no fun having to drag everything but the kitchen sink with you on vacation! Hopefully we've provided everything one could need and made the trip a little easier for our valued guests. We'll be looking out for you in 2017. Happy Holidays!

Definitely 5 Star Property!!!

  • 5 of 5

1 Floridian and 3 Texas Gals checked into the Arrow C on October 24-29. We always take a Fall trip to be leaf peepers and this was our first visit to the NC Blue Ridge Pkwy Area. It does not disappoint.

Becky and Pat have equipped this 2nd home with every amenity you can imagine. Cooking in the Chef's kitchen was a dream. Everything is organized, house instructions and information easy to understand, comfortable beds, plenty of linens, you can even do laundry! It lacks for nothing.

We enjoyed morning coffee and evening cocktails by the outdoor fireplace. We saw deer in the woods and plenty of squirrels.

You WILL need a 4 WD or AWD vehicle to navigate the '6 Flags Rollercoaster Driveway' up to the house. No Joke! But it's a fun adventure.

We enjoyed West Jefferson and Boone for shopping, Grandfather Mountain and a full day in Asheville at the Biltmore. There's easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway for some spectacular scenery within 10 minutes from the house.

Becky responds quickly on any communication regarding the Arrow C and the area. We had a great time and being in this upscale 'cabin' made it all the more enjoyable. 3 of my friends saw our FB pictures and wanted the booking info. You will have a great experience! Book it Danno!

Owner's Response: That's funny.....you are no doubt the ring leader and life of the party. It sounds like you stayed busy and had a great time. I do hope you will find your way back to The Arrow C for another excursion. Summer is fun as well....lots of hiking, biking, kayaking on the New River, music festivals, etc. Even a high ropes course if you're super adventurous! All the best to the rest of the ladies for me. I look forward to your return. Becky

Stunningly beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time, even the rain from Hurricane Matthew couldn't dampen the beauty of this home! It offered every thing you could think of, and my friends teased me that it sure didn't look like we were "roughing" it up in a mountain cabin! Next time we'll be sure to stay longer! Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. And yes, you absolutely have to have 4 wheel drive.

Owner's Response: Thank you Sharon! I'm sorry it rained on your parade, but glad you were able to make the best of it "roughing it" at The Arrow C! :-) Thanks so much for treating our home as your own....we do hope that you can return and stay longer. And also, a BIG thank you for the 4WD plug. We are often questioned on that, and those that don't heed the advice have quite a hike! All the best to you and your family! Becky

Beautiful, relaxing, oasis

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time with our family of 5. The house was gorgeous in a beautiful setting. We were far enough away from the mainstream but could easily enjoy Boone, and charming Blowing Rock. We spent lots of time cozier up in the outdoor porch next to the fire. We would definitely stay there again

Owner's Response: Thank you Shannon. The outdoor fireplace on the porch is our favorite hang out as well. What better way to start the day than to enjoy all the sights and sounds of nature. It's that peaceful, serene location that I think our guests really love.
