In the Stars is a spacious, quiet, comfortable four bedroom private home nestled next to the national park in Coral Bay on the Majestic Mile of the Carolina Ridge Top. We just recently replaced all the exterior decks from the ground up with Ipe - a beautiful and long-lasting hardwood. We also put in new sliding glass doors to the decks, quieter and more efficient A/C units, a brand new hot water heater, and painted the entire exterior in a warm tropical coral color. Come and see all the upgrades! Value priced for family or group vacations, In The Stars offers the unique opportunity to entertain large gatherings in comfort along with many private spaces for relaxing, retreating and revitalization. Enjoy the view and lap pool during the day, and at night the bright stars.

We have 2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 down allowing for maximum privacy. Bedrooms have either queen beds or 2 extra-long twins which can convert to a King. All Bedrooms have A/C and private baths.

The Great room upstairs opens onto a screened deck for maximum views with minimum bugs! The table on the deck can seat 12 and is a great location for morning coffee while you watch the hummingbrds and bananaquits visit the flowers, and for 'happy hour' at the end of your day in paradise.

Our 55 ft lap pool and 1000 sf patio are perfect for relaxing or getting a little workout while away.

We purchased this property in St John in 1985 and built our house in 1995. We added the pool and downstairs rooms in 2004. And in 2014, we did a major exterior renovation replacing all the decks from the ground up. We recently moved to North Carolina from New Jersey and are enjoying our new neighborhood in Cary,NC.

Just be sure to bring your sunscreen so you don't wind up looking like us in our photo (actually from a Halloween party a few yers ago- we went as tourists.)

We love the relaxed atmosphere of St John and especially the Coral Bay side. This is an area where lots of locals live and it is quieter than areas close to town.

What makes this villa unique

We built this house to allow for a couple to enjoy a romantic retreat or for a large group or family to have a reunion. We personally have hosted a family reunion and 3 separate college reunions. There is plenty of room and we have had up to 30 people for dinner with ease.

We are back from sunny & WARM St. John and we wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH once again for renting your beautiful villa to us!!!!! It was absolutely AMAZING!!! Your home is beautiful and all the remodel work looks fantastic!!! We felt like Kings & Queens while we stayed at your place and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!!! We enjoyed the pool & patio furniture and gas grill one afternoon/evening and that was a lot of fun!! The beaches with the crystal clear warm waters were amazing for swimming & snorkeling everyday and the location of your villa on the mountain overlooking Coral Bay was spectacular!!! The temperature was 83-84 degrees and sunny everyday, which was great!! The morning that we left we had a great rain shower for about and hour & a half but by 7:00 AM the sun was shinning again so it was perfect! We loved the cool breezes that we felt constantly while at the villa and had a lot of fun playing games out on the patio most evenings! Sleeping with the screened doors and windows open was fabulous!!! It was so nice that you have the coolers, beach towels and beach chairs for us to use and we really enjoyed that. We especially want to thank you for working with us and allowing us to arrive a day earlier that we initially had planned due to the weather and for graciously allowing us to stay at no extra cost for that night!! It was a wonderful blessing to us and so greatly appreciated!!! You were wonderful to work with from the very start and I am so thankful for you and the fact that you rent you home out to outsiders to enjoy the beautiful island of St. John! It was a fantastic 25th wedding anniversary trip for both Mike and I and our friends, Nelson & Tammy!!! We have come away with a lot of laughs, good times and wonderful memories!! THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING!!!

Perfect vacation home for our family to spend a week in St John. We will definitely be back!

Our family of 5 stayed at In The Stars for a week over April break (2016). We all loved it and could not have been happier.

Owner - Felecia was very easy to work with and always responded promptly. We did not have any problems whatsoever and she was a pleasure to correspond with beginning to end. She arranged for the caretaker Nancy to meet us on the day of our arrival. She was on time, showed us to and around the property, and answered all questions. She was very friendly and made the transition from traveling to vacation that much easier and enjoyable.

Amenities - Pack lightly you really do not need much. Plenty of coolers, beach towels, beach chairs, in room safe, dishwasher, washer dryer, ice maker etc. The kitchen is large and open and has everything you need.

Location - We loved the location with easy access to anywhere you would want to go. It is 10 minutes to Coral Bay,10 minutes to the north shore beaches and about 20 minutes to Cruz Bay. Perfect spot with amazing views.

Outdoor Space - beautiful decking with wide stairs leading to the upper level and steps down to the large pool area which has a gas grill and plenty of seating. Lots of nice plantings and very isolated from other properties. Roads in St John are very steep and many driveways are narrow without much space. In The Stars has tons of room for parking and turning your car around.The pool was a big hit with the kids and the outdoor area is a really nice space to grill, eat, and relax after a day at the beach. Again amazing views.

Indoors - The pictures do not do the house justice. You walk in from the from the deck to a wide open great room with a large kitchen area and screened porch overlooking Coral Bay. The views are absolutely stunning. The house was immaculate. The bedrooms and baths are all spacious and well appointed. The beds are all comfortable and there was always a nice breeze which kept the house cool. Honestly we did not have one complaint - In The Stars felt like home the instant we walked through the front door. Truly a beautiful and well maintained property.

Terrific villa!

My extended family (3 generations) first stayed at In the Stars 5 years ago, and we've been several times since. We are all returning again in December. There are 4 good sized bedrooms, 3 full baths and a big loft with 1/2 bath where the kids can bunk up on double bed and futon. The owners are extremely accomodating to our needs. They've done a major makeover this year, all new decking, railings, lots of other improvements. The kitchen has everything you could expect, and there's room for 10 or more around the big table on the screened in deck overlooking Coral Bay. The stomework and art work are first rate, and the driveway is big enough to park and manuever the three cars we needed. The pool is beautiful, warm enough in December for the kids, and the large table and chairs on the deck next to it offers another great place to eat outside, actually under the stars. The view of Coral Bay is lovely, and for us, the clincher is that it's only about 10 minutes down the hill to what we are convinced is the best beach on the island, Majo Bay, easy parking, 1 minute walk to the beach, no fees, low surf, plenty of spots to settle in for the day.

The villa has so many areas, we never felt crowded, even with 6 adults and 6 children. We'll never stay anyplace on the island other than Carolina Ridge, and In the Stars is as good as it gets, particulary if you have a bigger family.

Wonderful villa - perfect spot for our extended family!

Very comfortable and wonderfully appointed space for our extended family of four couples (parents, children w/spouses, one in-law couple, and two grandchildren). Exceptional attention to detail and amenities (coolers, beach chairs, beach towels, etc) as well as space and the kitchen necessities for everyone to cook and then eat and relax together! Breathtaking views and very well appointed digs to hang out in and also to come "home" to after a day hiking or on the beautiful beaches.

What a perfect choice we made....

Wow.....there are many charming qualities about this lovely and spacious home, from décor to amenities, an awesome pool and a spectacular view of the bay. Walking in the first night was like stepping into each of the posted photos.....they are exactly what it looks like....but it's even better in person.

We really liked the open feel of the living area, especially the wide porch perched over the trees with a panoramic view of the bay and surrounding mountains that was just breathtaking. We also really liked that the bedrooms had great beds and on the main floor, are on opposite sides of the house. That stone wall you see in the pictures is even more gorgeous and fun in person as there are real sea shells imbedded in it.....really looks like a piece of artwork. Downstairs was a perfect suite and opened right onto the pool deck.

On the practical side, the owners were very helpful in answering our questions and felt like genuine people. And once there, we realized the listing was completely accurate...there was nothing misleading in what was portrayed or stated, like we've seen at one or two other places in past travels. Last, and importantly if you have vacationed in the tropics, the house was immaculate.

We gave it 5 stars and plan to return in another year or so.

Exterior oh house pictures on website look better than the actual house--exterior of home needs repair-- holes in screens, decking needs paint and some replacement, was afraid to walk on in a few places (loft deck)- pool water cold so did not get in (march 2-9). Master bedroom AC unit VERY noisy- had to turn off- mattresses way too soft- water pressure low but understand abt the scarcity of water-shower curtain fell down in lower level bathroom-

Generally the interior was in great condition and we enjoyed the floorplan and screened porch very much! It was clean. The owner was very helpful prior to our arrival. Nancy was stressed the day we arrived. We gave her a big tip the first day because she took us to the large grocery store in Cruz Bay before going to the house. We did not see her again. I would recommend the house if the mattress situation is addressed (very very soft- two people end up rolling in to the middle. There were 8 in our group. We went to the BVI's one day on Bad Kitty- great! We rented dinghys one day and bay/beach hopped- also great. We snorkeled almost every beach and hiked and went to lots of bars and restaurants- all good.

Owner's Response: We want to thank you for being clear and honest about our house. Since we live in NC we don't see the house every week and are sometimes unaware of things like a tear in a screen. I will let our local manager know and we always encourage our guests to tell them of issues as well, especially a noisy A/C. We want to assure all our guests our decks are most definitely safe. And we are planning on upgrading the railings in the next year. As for the mattresses - I can only say that mattresses are a matter of personal taste. My husband and I put expensive pillow top mattresses in every room - the same ones we sleep on in our home. We find them very comfortable. it would be impossible to please everyone with one mattress. I am lad the house was clean and that you enjoyed St John as much as we do.

Located on the ridgetop in Upper Carolina with the National Park as our neighbor and Coral Bay as our view, our house is easily accessed on paved roads and driveway. And with our brand new Ipe hardwood decks, custom railings, quieter A/C units and upgraded sliding glass doors and hot water heater, your stay will be comfortable and relaxing.

We are on the quiet side of St John but still within minutes of the North Shore beaches and the restaurants of Coral Bay. A 20 minute drive brings you back to Cruz bay, the ferry and all the restaurants and shopping.
