About Ralph Kimbrell

Hi, my name is Ralph I am a graduate of the NYS Ranger School, I love the Adirondack Mountains, Forest, and waters. There is somthing magical about the woods, the aroma of pines, the fresh air, the sound of the wind through the forest, the sound of a mountain river. I own and operate Mountain River Properties, and build, sell or lease Cabins in the woods, and sell land also. Come on up and enjoy the pristine setting that the Independence River Cabin offers.

I am also a singer/ songwriter/guitar player and have an album and 2 singles released (on I-tunes and other sites), mostly christian contemporary music. My favorite place to play guitar is with friends around a camp fire.

Very relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Thank you, Ralph, for letting us spend two wonderful days at your cabin. It was just as you described it and more. Very clean and comfortable. Listening to the river and the birds helped us both just forget about everything back home. We didn't get to use the outdoor fire pit due to rain, but did use the indoor stove to heat the cabin. Ralph has many resources for nearby hikes and will make many suggestions if you are looking for someplace to go. We ended up going on a small hike to Half-Moon Lake and just spent several hours standing on the shore watching the birds. We ate lunch watching the beaver dam and following the woodpecker flying from tree to tree. The cabin is far enough away from everything that you will not be bothered by anyone, but still close enough to town that you can run to the store and get anything you may need. Great place, would highly recommend!

Great get-away, exactly as described!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a weekend in March (4 adults and 2 dogs). The cabin was beautiful and exactly as pictured on the website. The location is great - it is far enough from town and neighbors that you feel truly secluded, but only about 15 minutes from Walmart and Tractor Supply for anything that you need. It is fully equipped with TV, DVD player and internet, all of which worked well, although we spent more time outside by the fire pit and exploring the hiking trails in the area.

Perfect Winter Wonderland Get Away!

  • 5 of 5

This cozy cabin was the perfect winter get away. It was the second time booking the cabin and was everything we wanted, needed and more. I will definitely try to make it a tradition to come at least once a year for a weekend get away, that's how much I love it here! The cabin description is spot on accurate, it is super clean and greatly well-maintained. Ralph is wonderful and very helpful. I would recommend this property to all my friends and family.

My boyfriend and I book this cabin to snow mobile, the first year we booked we rented ski's from a local rental spot and hit the trails all day, it was well worth it, this time around we had another couple join us and brought our own ski's up, this actually worked out perfect because there is a trail head to get on right down the road from the cabin. We hit the trails all day, luckily there was snow in the trails and after an adventurous day we would come back sit by the warm wood burning stove and eat some homemade cooking. This place is beyond what you can expect, it is so peaceful and beautiful. I will surely be back again next winter or maybe in the fall.

One last thing on the way home we stopped at the Boondocks Restaurant & Bar, I would highly recommend stopping here for a meal & an a brew!

Thank you so much Ralph!

Phenomenal

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was clean and cozy with plenty of land for exploring. Ralph was very helpful leading up to the trip and was there when we arrived to greet us and show us around/explain the features of the cabin. Close by is an excellent cross country ski/rental spot, there seemed to be some restaurants and shops in Lowville, but we cooked all of our meals at the cabin. Excellent spot, I would like to go back again soon.

Better than we expected!

  • 5 of 5

The location of this cabin is beautiful. The river running through the backyard was great white noise as we slept. Met Ralph and Koda the first evening. What a great guy and cute dog! The cabin is in immaculate shape and is very cozy. We made fires in the pit every evening and cooked our dinners over it. Very cozy cabin. We will be coming back and recommend to everyone!

Relaxing, beautiful location, great cabin

  • 5 of 5

This location was wonderful. We arrived to a river covered in a blanket of ice and snow and had the privilege of watching it thaw. I sent the owner Ralph a video of it to post on the rental site. It was an incredible sound when blocks of ice fell in the river and were quickly whisked away. It made us run to the river every time. We had the fluctuation in weather you get in early spring, one day it was 57 degrees followed by 27 and three inches of snow the next day.

The cabin is well constructed, clean and very warm when you get a good fire going. Although heated, it is not necessary to use. The kitchen is nicely stocked, the shower works great and the bed is comfortable. The dish TV works great and it is a cozy room with the wood stove and TV together. The cabin is above the river but at the bottom of a hill. Very nice location, quiet and secluded. Ralph is very nice and accommodating. I will rent this property again.
