Beautiful Memories of Kona and the Big Island

  • 5 of 5

What a find! Kona Riviera Villa was a lovely seaside getaway with a very convenient location. We had our coffee on the veranda overlooking the pool and the waves splashing into the seawall. Then we were out the door on our way to the many beaches within a short driving distance. Snorkeling was our favorite activity, but we also drove northeast to Mauna Kea and south to Volcano National park. We kayaked across Kealakekua Bay. The condo supplied some beach items (towels, boogie board, even some snorkeling gear) which was much appreciated. One day we went on a unique bird watching tour with Jack Jeffries of Hawaii Birding and Photography Tours (yes, we got some great shots of Apapane and I 'iwi, two of the native birds of Hawaii). As we came back to our condo after all day excursions, we really appreciated the peacefulness of our surroundings. We watched many a beautiful sunset while listening to the varied intensity of the surf.

I would choose this condo again and have recommended it to family and friends.

Fantastic vacation

  • 5 of 5

We were there from July 4th to July 12th, 2017. It was great, the location of the condo is perfect, it's clean, well equiped and you should know that as of July 13th, there will be a new mattress, so all is well. You should also know that the manager on site of the condo are very helpfull for anything you want to know about Big Island and the condo.

Can't wait to return.

Serene!

  • 5 of 5

A very nice little getaway! We loved sitting outside enjoying our morning coffee while listening to and overlooking the waves. With a six hour time change it was wonderful to feel able to relax with no rush in the mornings, and in such a beautiful place! We made use of the pool a few times, which was well maintained. One of the full time residents pointed out that there is a man-made but nature maintained pool visible and just a short walk from the condo. It seems the thing to do is to stand on the ocean side and late big waves hit you and push you into the pool! Sounds fun, be we didn't learn of it until our last day. Now you know!

Parking was a little tight for our Jeep rental, but easily manageable. We looked at the hotels in the area from our balcony and imagined paying more for less. No thanks! If we return to Kona, we'd be looking to stay here again!

Amazing view of the ocean!

  • 5 of 5

We husband and I loved our trip to Hawaii and this condo was a great find! The condo is clean and was stocked with a cooler, beach chairs, towels, swimming fins and masks and more! It was nice having a kitchen with a stove, dishwasher, and other appliances. The view from the balcony was the highlight of the place! Looking right down to the ocean, we enjoyed our coffee on the balcony with the fresh ocean breeze each morning and we watched the sunset from the balcony while playing cards and sipping a refreshing beverage. The location was perfect- just across the street from a small local marketplace, and far enough away from the shopping and restaurant area but still close enough with only a 5 minute drive! It was nice to have a designated parking spot right out front. This condo was on the Main Street right along the waterfront and it was in perfectly located between beaches one direction and shopping/dining the other direction. We will definitely recommend this to friends and family and we'd love to bring our kids back and stay here again!

A Quiet Place in Busy Kailua-Kona

  • 3 of 5

The unit was as advertised, quiet, comfortable and uncrowded. The unit was well equipped with all utensils and well stocked with reading material. Sunsets were glorious and during our stay we saw no one using the pool. Laundry facilities on the property are convenient and again, uncrowded.

The unit was very comfortable and convenient to the town. Finding the entrance took some doing on our arrival - a dark rainy night - but after that getting around was a snap. Our sole complaints are that 1. The unit needs some up dating especially the mattress. 2. The water in the shower doesn't seem to get much hotter than "warm". Other than that we would stay here again.

Beautiful view and waves, waves, waves describes it perfectly!

  • 5 of 5

A great place to be. Sat on the Lanai and watched the waves and boats early morning. Saw lots of Canoes, fishing boats and the cruise ships. We kept pretty busy so mostly we enjoyed the mornings. This Island even though it's the "Big Island" we could get anywhere in a couple of hours. Didn't even turn on the TV until the last night, mostly sat and listened to the waves. Quiet area, hardly saw the other guests, beautiful sunsets. Just as advertised. The one small problem we had Kathie got it taken care of right away. Don't forget to check out all the stuff in the closet. We didn't realize the binoculars were there until the last day(they were in plain site on the shelf) beach chairs, coolers etc. Would go back over and over, not sure I can get my Husband that far from home again but he also loved it.

We did the Helicopter tour fire and falls out of Hilo, the Volcano night time tour, zip lining at Akaka Falls, snorkeling at a few different beaches and just driving and stopping when we wanted. Saw the painted church, the national parks, black sand beach, sea turtles etc. On our last day we went to the Chocolate farm (Original Hawaii Chocolate factory) it was really interesting and very informative. My Grandson is fascinated with the pictures of the pods growing right on the trunk and limbs of the tree. Just driving around you see beautiful vistas, so glad we went.
