You may don your skis or snowboard right downstairs in the snow and swoosh your way down to the ticket line (no need to drive to the ski resort or lug your equipment anywhere). The Home Run transport lift, which takes you to the base of the mountain, runs just outside the condo and can be boarded just a short way down the hill. Northstar is about a 5 minute drive to the historic town of Truckee with all its quaint shops and restaurant. Lake Tahoe is a 10-15 minutes drive and Reno is about 40 minutes away.

We have been skiing at Northstar since 1970 and I was thrilled with our decision to purchase a property on the ski trail in 1978.
Ramine Killen purchased this condo in 1978
The perfect location - right on the ski trail and close to the Village/NPOA Recreation Center - and completely remodeled and appointed residence with every amenity possible to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. It has been an excellent place for my family to share holidays and other specials times together and will surely do the same for friends and family anywhere.
What first attracted us to this condominium was its proximity to the ski trail which means you never again have to drive to a ski resort or lug ski equipment across a parking lot and up the hill. The privacy (top floor end unit of end building at the top of the ski trail) and serene beauty of this cozy space is what made us want to make it mine forever.
Our family of four stayed for a softball tournament in July. Wonderful set-up and literally everything you needed at your finger tips. The kids loved the huge loft and ability to take the shuttle to the pool or anywhere else in Northstar. The complimentary laundry room with close proximity (next door) to our condo was a huge bonus for dirty softball clothes! We also loved the ability to be right in the center between Truckee and the lake. We will definitely be back! Great place!
Spent four nights in July and had a wonderful time. The kids had plenty to do at the Village. Good entertainment and things for them to do. We also really liked the condo. Very clean and as pictured. We happened to meet the owner and she is very nice. We look forward to going back this winter or next summer.
Beautiful condo. All the necessities. Walk to the Villiage or drive 10 minutes to Truckee. TV and wifi were flawless.
I would definitely stay here again.
My wife and I stayed here with our two kids for a long weekend. The kids loved the loft-style bedroom and we found it had just the right amount of room for us. We were really pleased to find that we got a card that allowed us to park in the private lot of the rec center as our kids love to swim and while it's a short walk, it's tough to do in wet swim trunks in the cold. Everything inside was modern and up-to-date. Wifi worked well and flatscreen TV had basic cable. Ski in/out worked great, get your lift tickets sorted out the night before and you can walk out the door onto a trail that leads to either a lift or the gondola. We love Northstar, so we will definitely be staying here again!
Beautiful, comfortable condo

We had a fabulous time staying at this beautiful condo. The kitchen is well supplied with all of the essentials (and the granite is gorgeous- recently remodeled wasn't it?)
Our kids loved the upstairs loft and it was super convenient to have a half bath up there as well. Great location close to the adorable village - so close that the gondola goes right over the condo parking lot.
Loved it, would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.
Note to out of towners like us: make sure your rental car is 4-wheel drive with snow tires on all 4 wheels, or have tire chains. Watch highway road reports because they closed the I-80 pass from the Bay Area when we were going up there and we had to go back & spend the night in Sacramento. No problems with the roads in Northstar or the condo though, those were well cleared when we finally got through the pass.
Our family of 5 stayed several nights. The owner was very accommodating when when we arrived a couple of hours before the official check-in time. We arrived to find the condo clean, in great condition, and just as described on the website. The proximity to Northstar Village was a huge benefit. We were totally spoiled because we could ski from our condo down to the gondola. Definitely the BEST ski experience we've had as a family. There is a shuttle service to and from the Village with a shuttle stop near the condo. Also, there is a path to the Village that is not a bad walk (as long as you aren't wearing ski boots).
Nearest Towns: The condo is approximately half-way between Truckee and Kings Beach. I preferred to make the 8-10 mile drive into Kings Beach or groceries. King's Beach also has a couple of decent restaurants that are probably a bit cheaper than eating at the Village.
The Village does free smores most days at 3:30pm. That is always a big hit with the kids.
The owner recommended buying lift tickets the day before we planned to ski. We opted to buy online the night before and picked up our lift tickets early the next morning when dropping the kids off at ski school and that worked out great for us.
There is also a storage locker on the bottom floor of the building where the condo is located that was really nice to have.
Our family really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone.
Feel free to take a vacation from your car for your entire stay as well (park in the adjacent parking lot with the placard on your dashboard). The complimentary Northstar shuttle will transport you to the Village to dine at any of the great restaurants (pizza, sushi, tapas, fine dining California cuisine), visit the many boutiques, or indulge in a massage at the spa. The shuttle will also take you to the 18-hole golf course as well as the NPOA Recreation Center which features: two pools (large family pool or adult lap pool); three jacuzzis (family, twirl, and adult); 10 tennis courts; a baby pool, splash pad and jungle gym; fitness center complete with cardio machines (elliptical, treadmill, rower, stationary bike), state-of-the-art weight machines, and free weights; saunas in both restrooms; library and reading room; and deli. The shuttle runs on schedule for much of the year and may be called at other times. If you wish to venture outside Northstar, be sure to visit the excellent restaurants (Moody’s, Squeeze In), quaint shops, and breweries in the town of Truckee (just 7 miles away on highway 267) as well as all the activities Lake Tahoe has to offer (15 minutes in the opposite direction).
