About Angela Hale

We enjoyed Carolina Dawn for many years before deciding to rent it a few years ago. We've filled it with artwork that we love of local beach scenes, mostly by Beaufort Artist Alan Cheek. We've also tried to make it as comfortable and convenient as possible for families.

Angela Hale purchased this cottage in 2003

Why Angela Hale chose Emerald Isle

You can't beat the views and the easy access to the beach from our location. Just walk out the back door and down the boardwalk and you're there. Our stretch of beach never seems crowded and there's easy access to shopping, restaurants, entertainment and more.

What makes this cottage unique

We have dogs who are members of our family so we know how nice it can be to bring them along on vacation. That's why we consider requests for responsible dog owners to bring their well behaved dog to Carolina Dawn.

The perfect ladies reunion getaway

  • 5 of 5

5 women friends who used to live in the same town, but have since dispersed, met in this beautiful 5 bedroom, well kept, well furnished oceanfront home. Connecting with friends is always nice, but is even nicer in such a beautiful setting. It was the next to last night that we discovered that the benches on the boardwalk over the dunes was the perfect location to sit and watch the sunrise in the morning and sunset in the evening.

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home.

Wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

My family spent a great week here! The beds were very comfortable, the outdoor porches were wonderful, and being on the beach made a vacation with kids of a variety of ages easy and fun! We had a small issue with the dishwasher and the owners had someone out to repair it immediately! I was very impressed. We would happily stay here again.

Perfect place for our family of 9!

  • 5 of 5

We all enjoyed Carolina Dawn. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need which was great because we cooked meals all week. We saw a negative review about the grill before we went but it appears there is a new one which works very well. The beds were comfortable, deck has a good view, awning was nice on sunny mornings. We all had plenty of room, nice dining area and den. Owners are great communicators and made everything easy. Lots of nice features...good outdoor shower, benches on the walkway to the beach, solid walkways and stairs, nice views from 3 decks, strong doors and windows (we had some big storms during our stay!) We would definitely recommend this beach house!

Great beach vacation - fantastic ocean front views!

  • 5 of 5

This beach home has it all. The kitchen was complete with everything you could need. The bedrooms were spacious and even though it was a duplex, we felt like we had it all to ourselves. The owners thought of every detail to make it a comfortable and memorable stay. We would love to come back again!

Well kept house in a great quiet location

  • 5 of 5

The house was very well maintained and in a quieter location on Emerald Isle. There is plenty of beach. The amount of steps up to the house and down to the beach seems better than most houses in this area. The big deck off the main level is great for the common area but the decks off the beach side bedrooms are very nice too. The kitchen was well stocked and as a bonus the Dollar General is a really short walk for anything you forgot to bring or for a limited selection of groceries. Property manager is great too. He stopped in early to mid week just to check to make sure everything was good. The furnishings were comfortable and the large dining room table was nice. My only complaint was the outdoor grill. We love to cook and grill out at the beach but this grill was too small for a 5 bedroom house. It was in rough shape too. The burner controls didn't work right and it nealry caught fire because it was so greasy and not well maintained. A bigger/newer/cleaner grill would be advised.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for taking time to leave a review for others. We appreciate your concerns about the grill. When you're "ocean front", the salt air takes its toll on everything very quickly, especially metal grills. Future guests please be advised, we have already replaced the grill. We encourage our guests to let us know if they have a concern about anything at Carolina Dawn. We can't address issues if we're not aware of them. Thanks again!

Map

Emerald Isle is 20 Minutes from Morehead City, N.C. It's located on a barrier island considered the southern most stretch of the Outer Banks. It's also part of an island referred to as the Crystal Coast, which offers big stretches of white sand and gorgeous blue green waters. Emerald Isle, in particular, is a very family oriented beach and our home is far enough away from condos that it's never crowded. Bring or rent bikes and enjoy miles of bike paths. The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is a short drive which offers all kinds of great kids activities. Drive to Beaufort and see the wild ponies on Shackleford Banks.
