This is a dream vacation home located on Ocean frontage facing south so there is exposure to the sun all day. This home has it all. A wrought iron gate swings open to a courtyard in front of the home with plenty of parking, very private and secure. Inside, the home is welcoming and beautifully appointed. The open concept great room, dinning room, and gourmet kitchen all have beautiful ocean views. The great room features lots of comfortable seating, a good selection of books, DVD’s large screen HD television with a blue ray player, and a gas fireplace. Wifi is available for your internet connection. Located on the main floor is a very cosy den with another large screen TV that could also serve as a fourth bedroom, as well as a two piece washroom and laundry room. Upstairs is a large full bathroom, two beautifully decorated bedrooms and a large master bedroom. The master bedroom has a gas fire place, a spa like bathroom and a large balcony with table & chairs with a million dollar view of the ocean and snow capped Olympic Mountain Range. Imagine yourself enjoying a cup of coffee or breakfast on the balcony. All rooms are filled with lots of light from the large windows, with views. This home can sleep 6-8 comfortably. The home also has for rent a fully equipped suite separate from the house with one bedroom and a Lazy Boy sofa bed in the living room that sleeps 4. Between the house and the suite they sleep 12. A great home for those family reunions or get together with friends.

Enjoy evenings gathered around the wood burning fire pit overlooking the ocean. Spend a great day kayaking, or canoeing from the protected waters of Cooper Cove accessed by a gentle slope with a short stair case to the ocean. Walking and biking the Galloping Goose Trail which is right across the road; two doors down is the Stickelback restaurant, and Rush kayak rentals. The village of Sooke is a 5 min drive west, the Sooke Pot Holes 10 min down the road and a 25 min drive will take you to Victoria. For the more adventuresome, Adrena Line zip lining over tree tops is just 5 mins away. This home is pet friendly.

He looks forward to the many walking and hiking trails, cycling the Galloping Goose trail, Mathason Lake, Sooke potholes, Kayaking, and spending time their with family and friends.

In 2010 while looking for water front property to purchase and build on one day I found my dream home. The modern architecture of the home, with a breath taking view from almost every room, excellent, private ocean front level lot and Ocean at the door step. This to hard to pass up as there may never be an opportunity to purchase such an amazing place again.

We were here with our 2 sons, 2 daughters in-laws and 2 granddaughters. My husband went fishing 4 days and caught salmon and halibut. Your pictures do not do it justice. No rain in 2 weeks. Enjoyed the house and grounds.

This is a stunning property smartly designed to maximize the gorgeous views of Cooper's Cove. The rooms are spacious, the furnishings fresh and high-end, and the kitchen is gourmet-level. The master suite is huge with a fabulous multi-jet steam shower and Jacuzzi tub. During the nice sunny week of our stay, often times it very tempting to just simply hang out and enjoy sunshine and views.

It was a LOT of house for just me and my two dogs, but fit the bill for my annual Fall "dog week" BC vacation. The location was central to dog-friendly off-leash hiking locations such as Thetis Lake, East Sooke Regional Park, Aylard Farm, French & China Beaches, and Whiffen Spit. A fully fenced yard and waterfront location were musts, so this checked those boxes well. It's just a few steps down to a spacious cove where the dogs could swim (at high tide only, very mucky at low tide). The very large rear lawn was well-suited to ball-lobbing.

The owner has very thoughtfully provided bed sheets as throws for "furniture dogs", nice to know in advance so I didn't need to carry my own throws as I typically do.

Dawn, the property manager, resides in the smaller suite when not rented. She was virtually invisible, but It was nice being able to text her questions. I even went to dinner with her a few times at the Stickleback Eatery 2 doors east. Wonderful burgers/fish/noodles with a patio on the cove - highly recommend!!!

In response to the prior reviewer's complaint about cleaning fees, let me add this: When contacting me about returning my security deposit, Steve, the owner, informed me that I had a partial cleaning fee refund coming. I was speechless! In 11 past VRBO rentals from BC to Hawaii, I was never offered a refund, despite the fact that all these rentals were for just 1-2 people and thus only using one bedroom & bath. I always assumed the cleaning fee was the fee, period. I have always treated rentals as my own home, tidied up the kitchen as we went, swept up or vacuumed excess dog as needed, and per request at nearly every one of them, loaded the dishwasher, stripped the beds, and got a washer load going as we departed. It was really nice to be recognized for the first time as requiring less-than-the-norm cleaning time. Will visit again without hesitation.

Nice place BUT

The house was no doubt awesome, well furnished and decorated! High-end appliances and the whole works! Our family had a fun vacation. We met the house manager and she was a bit unprofessional, complaining of the family that had just departed before our arrival, (that they left a big mess, annoyed her with too many calls, and broke items). So of course I ask her how clean she would like us to leave the house because it sounded like she definitely needed some extra help. I asked her because a) we had already paid a pretty penny in cleaning fees for 10ppl b) after hearing her complain of the last family I felt bad. She asked me to have the dishwasher going if we could and to strip all the beds before we leave. We did. We also went a step further and 1) swept the kitchen and living area 2)wiped down all the counter, tables, couches 3) strip the beds and take all laundry plus towels into the laundry room etc etc. Upon our return we received an email from the owner stating that he had to retain a further $140ish from our deposit because his manager said she needed a few extra days to straighten up as we left the house in a total mess (eye roll) he also attached pictures of the giant mess we left which were (try not to laugh) 1) clean counter with some empty water bottles 2) a blind that was drawn partially 3) a sink with our breakfast dishes (maybe 8 in total) 4) a messy breakfast stove. So maybe an extra 30mins of cleaning TOPS. If we knew we had to scrub everything down, if we had proper cleaning tools, we might have just cleaned up the entire house for her. Next was the amount of post notes on water usage, warning you to take a 3 min shower, not to flush if you don't need, don't wash dishes by hand etc etc, notes about not touching the blinds even though half the house is a wall of windows (bright sunshine + putting kids to bed) not a good combo. Oddly enough there aren't any post it notes on the highly toxic seafood in the water just outside the yard. We picked and ate about 50lbs of clams and oysters only to find out through a poster at a nearby campsite that the seafood was contaminated with fecal matter. Also, house manager stays on location in the garage nearby in case you need her. So, I would definitely give the actual house a 5-star but rated less for the entire experience because I felt like if you ask for a cleaning fee, that should cover regular everyday mess. I would not recommend because I did my part that was asked of me, do yours.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the positve comments to the quality of our home and furnishings. We take pride in the quality and presentation for our guests. There has been the same team providing professional cleaning services for the past 6 years. Cleaning fees are based, dependent on group size, and averge time required to return the home to it's moved in condition. On occasion it is nessesary for the team to spend extra time to accomplish this and that time is charged appropriately back against the deposit.

This property was so amazing for our family get-together! We were 8 adults and 7 children under 10 years old! The fenced in property was such a relief for everyone. Some wanted to go salmon fishing which the guide is just next door! This property is a perfect location with many attractions close by. The suite is an added bonus which gave everyone lots of space for sleeping. The only issue we found challenging was the 3 minute rule for showers/bath. We rented for 2 weeks so laundry was tricky. But kitchen was amazing! Beautiful time for all of us.

Wonderful Holiday Home

We recently stayed at Eagle on the Beach for a 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration. The home provided lots of space for our family with varied ages of children and a fully fence backyard for the dog to run around. The kitchen was gourmet and provided every necessity we needed to enjoy our homemade meals. We were very comfortable and the home was located next to many attractions that we visited. The beach area is very rocky and the water is a bit stagnant. We were thrilled to discover the Sooke Potholes very close by along the Galloping Goose Biking Trail. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this vacation home to our friends and family.

The Eagle On The Beach is located in Cooper Cove which is a beautiful sheltered 5 Km long Cove. It's great for Kayaking, Paddle Boarding and Wind Surfing. Rush Adventures is 2 doors away and rents Kayaks and provides Kayak leasons.

The Famous, Scenic, 55 Km long Galloping Goose Trial is located across the road and is wonderful for walking and cycling on. Cycle to the Sooke Pot Holes or to down town Victoria.

12 West are Surfing Beaches, Many Parks and Hiking Trail and enjoy spectacular drive along the West Coast

$375/night, $2,250/week Suite: $150/night, $900/week

+ cleaning fee $200/house (based on 6 pp), $100/suite (based 2 pp) $ 400 for 12 people
+ applicable tax and $500 refundable damage deposit, excessive cleaning costs will be deducted from Damage Deposit.
Suite can not be booked alone. The suite is not included in the $375, house rate and is $150 per night. House and suite together rate is $525. per night.
Only Cleaning Fees are increased for additional guests (over 6 in house and 2 in suite). There are no additional charges per person per day, only the Cleaning Fee increases.

Upon booking a 50% deposit of the rental, cleaning fee and damage deposit is due. The balance is due 60 days prior to check in. Transactions are done thru Pay Pal

Owner's Cancellation Policy
