I am a native Oregonian. I have been managing rental properties since 1990 and take great pride in providing clean, relaxing, user-friendly places for my guests to enjoy their family, friends and life's adventures.
Kathy Schroeder purchased this house in 2010
My husband grew up vacationing at this home with his family and the previous owner who owned it for 47 years. He and I were fortunate in 2010 to buy it from this life-long friend and to put two full years of significant effort into bringing this century-old home into the 21st century with all new windows, doors, a new foundation, new electrical, plumbing, floors and all new landscaping while maintaining the Nantucket-style shabby chic flair of the home.
This home has an incredible location on Gin Ridge in Gearhart (so-named based on historic local lore) with views to the west of the Pacific Ocean and to the east of the Coastal mountains. Easy walks reward you at the beach access trail or at the center of town grocery or Pacific Way Cafe.
Just wanted to let you know that we had an amazing weekend at your wonderful home with extended family. Your home was so welcoming and offered everything we could have ever wanted and more. An outdoor fire pit is taking shape in my mind for my house!
Each year 8 female cousins get together for a long weekend get away. We are scattered out in Oregon and Washington. We have gone a different place each year for 5 years, but we have now found an every other year destination. This house is amazing. The weather was typical Oregon coast weather......warm Friday, raining Saturday, warm Sunday. The little town of Gearhart is so fun....stop for coffee and goodies at the bakery, do a little shopping at the two very quaint shops and basically just enjoy slowing down and disconnecting. I think we enjoyed all the amenities this house has to offer...fire pit on the amazing patio, piano so we could sing, puzzles to put together and a kitchen that is appointed better than any beach house I have ever been in. Great for a large group of singles or families. I highly recommend it! We will be back!
Very well equipped home. We cooked in every night. Very inviting - wonderful view of the ocean and just a block to the Pacific Way Bakery and Cafe - and the Gearhart grocery store. "I'll be back".
We so enjoyed our stay at this magnificent home with a view of the ocean. This home is super clean, bright, accommodating in every way. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen up to date, the living space more than adequate for visiting, eating and games. The outdoor patio was a delight and the weather ideal for the beach getaway. We would highly recommend this rental.
Great place! Such a warm and welcoming home. Perfect for big groups. Highly recommended.
We are local Gearhart residents who booked this home for some of the two dozen family members who joined us for our son's wedding. Those who stayed in the home loved it, and we all enjoyed the gas firepit. There was not a lot of cooking done in the house since we had other arrangements for meals, but there was plenty of room to gather. It may have been the first time the living room has been the site of a crowd who cares passionately about Alabama football, and there was room for all to watch game. House is close to beach, and our guests enjoyed spotting whales from the house. The layout and bedroom/bathroom ratio was excellent. House is very well-maintained. Owner was terrific to work with.
This is our favorite beach house ever! It is so cute and has been remodeled so nicely. The location is great too! The fire pit is my favorite though. We even had a herd of elk come by and graze in the field across the street on our last visit. The owners are so easy to book through also! Gearhart is my favorite beach too!! You won't be disappointed.
