We searched for almost 20 years all over N.C. for the property that met our criteria...
Great views...private location... (Elevation)seasonal changes...unique character...
This home has been a WIP for a number of years! So we are finally getting where we can say it is almost 'done' (we will always keep making 'improvements'). We take so much pride in this cabin and our family has worked so hard to make this a really unique place to escape to! It has a 'soul' it 'calls' us all of the time, we wish we could answer more often!
We hope you will come visit and enjoy it as much as we do!
I drove across from Agoura Hills,CA to stay at the cabin with some friends to attend a wedding in Blowing Rock. The drive was around 36 hours total(I took 2 days, around 18 hours a day), anyway, the first thing I did when I got there was to sit on that AMAZING porch. I thought where I was from had a great mountain view, this place was spectacular. The house itself was beautiful, wood and log trimming everywhere, hot tub, open kitchen, did I mention the porch? Huge porch, the house was clean, and also very well taken care of, oh and natural spring water runs into the house as well. We all really enjoyed hiking the woods behind the house, and enjoyed the waterfall that's on the property as well. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, the owners were friendly and answered all of our question, and the stay was wonderful. I am already planing another visit to the cabin for next summer!!
My husband and I were recently here for my 60th birthday celebration. We loved it! It is very secluded and private, with astounding views (and for me, it's all about the views). The cabin is very cozy and clean, and the decorating very rustic with lots of local artisan touches. We took in Boone, Blowing Rock, Linville Falls, and a beautiful drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway, stopping for several hikes, and a lovely picnic overlooking the mountain range . Doesn't get any better than that! All of this within an easy 30-40 min drive from the cabin. Amazing!! What a great place to get away from the rat race and breath in the beauty! Thank you sweet sister, for the best birthday. Love you to the moon...
And last, but not least, thank you Sharon for your prompt attention to all of our needs while there....and the bottle of champagne. Cheers!!
The pictures do not to the view justice! This cabin was perfect for a girls getaway in the mountains! Close to Boone and many other attractions and great location for anyone hoping to enjoy a day of hiking. The cabin itself was beautiful with amazing views from both decks and a nice fire pit to enjoy the evening by. The home owner was incredible, very helpful and responsive for any and all needs! I would strongly recommend this rental to anyone visiting the area, we will absolutely be back.
Most relaxing vacation ever! The cabin was just as described, beautifully decorated and CLEAN! The view from the deck was unbelievable.
Thank you Sharon for letting us enjoy your home. We are already planning a trip back.
First let me say that the owner is a very nice lady and the inside furnishings are lovely. HOWEVER, it is not what we envisioned from the advertisement.
On the site, there is a photo of the front of a cabin. This is NOT what you are renting. You are only renting the second floor and the loft. The front door is not accessible.
The living room/breakfast area you do have access to is extremely crowded. I do not know how you could fit six adults into this room comfortably. While there are nice sleeping accommodations for six, there is no way six people could fit around the kitchen table, which has four chairs. The two chairs at the breakfast bar cannot be used simultaneously, as there is no room for anyone to move. The television sits randomly in the middle of the floor, dividing the sitting area from the eating area.
Seating for six is provided at the outside table, which leads me to the next problem. The house is INFESTED with carpenter bees that are actively boring into the side of the cabin. We even found wood shavings on the top of the stove!! We were unable to use the deck or any of the outside amenities. That really limits the size of the house. When I mentioned to the property owner that we left early because of the bees, her response was that that happens sometimes!
As there is no access to the back door, the fire pit is only available if you follow a very small trail around the side of the bee-infested house. Also, we could find no safe area to hike around this house.
This is a lovely area of NC to visit. We have been there two times and are planning to return next summer. However, we will be going back to a different house we previously rented through this website. We were EXTREMELY disappointed and unhappy with the amount of money we spent on this property and what we received in return.
Would not recommend.
