I loved the open floor plan on the main floor!! Super comfortable, clean cabin and fun activities for all at the cabin and within a short driving distance. We ate at Red River Rock House and Miguel's pizza just for the experience and would recommend both. The rest of the time we cooked at the cabin for our crowd of 24 and had no issues with doing so. The grill and hot tubs worked great. The ziplining on-site did not look like much at first but it really is phenomenal at the end! We recommend that as well as the natural bridge, Chimney Top Rock and Princess Arch. We took our 4 kids under 7 on each of those hikes and they (and we!) were fine.
We stayed at the Lakeside House on the property. It was beautiful, clean and well stocked. All 31 members of the family raved about the house! The property is lovely as well. The staff were wonderful, answering all of our questions and checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Many of us did the ziplining which is also located onsite. We definitely want to go back.
Our group gives the Cliffview 5 stars. It's a lovely building, in a beautiful setting. It's not too big and it is neat, clean, and well run. The managers were helpful and accommodating. Ponds all around for fishing. Zipline in the back yard. Porch swings, evening fire in the fire pit and more. Loved that the kitchen in the lodge is open to residents, along with a barbecue grill. This was a great place for friends and very accommodating for families. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.
Cliffview Lodge is an idyllic log cabin lodge with views of the surrounding gorge, rock cliffs and ponds.
The rooms are spacious and clean and you'll love the special touches in the bathroom. Each room has a sliding door that opens to a covered deck overlooking the views.
The open area of the Cliffview Lodge is easily a cozy place to watch a movie, read a book or chat with family and friends.
One of our favorite times was preparing and cooking our healthy meals using the kitchen and grill.
There are nice cafes and many activities for all fitness levels nearby. But you always want to come back home to your quiet, remote space at Cliffview Lodge.
I'll be back and I want to check out their cabins.
Most of our hiking trips to RRG consisted of multi-family camping. When our son decided to visit 'the Gorge' on short notice, he found Cliffview on the internet and asked if we would like to join him, our grandson and friend. We decided to give it a try even though we had not heard of the resort from our other visits. What a wonderful surprise to find such a beautiful and accommodating resort in one of our favorite areas. Our hosts (and innkeepers) were very hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. Rooms were clean and affordable. A real treat for us that are over the retirement age. Also, our grandson really enjoyed the extra room to explore and burn off his young energy. My wife and I even decided to stay an extra night. We met other couples from Ohio and Michigan that were visiting for the first time and they also mentioned what a wonderful 're-treat'. Availability of close restaurants for dinner was limited, but we've always taken enough prepared food to eat. The use of a full kitchen and outdoor grill was a plus.
OMG....we had the best time ever during our stay at Cliffview!! I have traveled extensively, and must say that this resort and staff is at the top of my list. Wonderful view, clean rooms, "down home" hospitality all wrapped up with adventure and peacefulness all at the same time.....where can you find this.....only here. The "little extra" bonfire with smores that was built for the guests each night was great! Don't miss this hidden treasure!!!
