About Marne Simpson

Both Steve and I (Marne) grew up in Lodi. Our families and many childhood friends still live nearby. We actually met in our college years in southern California and couldn't wait to move back to our hometown once we were married. Our two daughters were born while living in this house and although we love it dearly, our growing family needs a little more space as they enter high school. So, we moved across town but want to share our home with others visiting this little town that means so much to us. In all of our travels we have learned what makes us most comfortable while staying in a home away from home and have tried to include all of those special details to make you feel like this is your home too. I helped found the Lodi Conference and Visitors Bureau as Lodi began developing it's tourist sites and know almost all there is to know about Lodi, the events, the businesses and the wineries. Lodi is a small town that has many 'secret' gems. I would love to help you plan your visit here and to make the trip even better than you had hoped it could be.

Why Marne Simpson chose Central Valley California

We are only the fourth owner of this almost century old home. It is beautifully built with fine craftsmanship and the perfect floor plan and has been lovingly cared for. The minute we first walked in the door we knew it was the house meant for us. It is set in the perfect location to enjoy the surrounding neighborhood and downtown area. The neighbors are friendly and the three outside patios give you lots of options for dining and relaxing all year round.

What makes this house unique

This older neighborhood is known for it's tree lined streets and families out walking the dog or playing in the park across the street. It is truly small town America with all the benefits of big cities. Celebrations are common, festivals are busy and the art scene is strong here. And all of it is happening within walking distance of our front porch.

Beautiful home and perfect for three generations

  • 5 of 5

This was such a nice retreat for our family to come home to after the stress of the funeral of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The playhouse and toys were perfect for the grandchildren, and the environment was nicely furnished, clean, and relaxing for the rest of us. It was easily within walking distance to parks and restaurants. Marne was very helpful and caring. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect House for our Girls Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This house is absolutely adorable and was perfect for our short weekend stay. The girls in my family (my mother, two sisters, and myself) met in Lodi because it is centrally located for us. We enjoyed the house and the short distance to downtown. We spent most of our time downtown shopping and wine tasting. The house was about a ten minute walk from downtown, which was why we picked it in the first place. The owners had a bottle of wine and fresh flowers in the house upon our arrival. The wine was a nice welcome on Friday night and we enjoyed it with our late night conversations. The house had plenty of space to spread out in and if it had been warmer we would have definitely taken advantage of all of the outside space as well. We had an awesome weekend and definitely plan on returning!

Absolutely perfect! Beautiful house in all ways. Excellent communication from owner. Ideal location for us (Katrina's Cards) for our 7th year at the Lodi Sandhill Crane Festival which is right across the street at Hutchins Square. Easy walk to downtown. The kitchen is a joy to cook in and the outdoor grill is great. Highly recommended!

This house is the prefect place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with our family of 5 for our nephew's wedding in Lodi. The house was extremely nice and comfortable and had everything we needed. It was as good, or even better, than the pictures show and the location was awesome. It is in a quiet and nicely maintained neighborhood, with a park across the street and within easy walking distance to the old and quaint downtown area. We enjoyed nice walks in the cool mornings and had a fun lunch at the Lodi Brewery downtown. Thank you Marne for the use of your beautiful house. Your care for the house and your guests shows in so many details throughout the rooms!
