About Marne Simpson
Both Steve and I (Marne) grew up in Lodi. Our families and many childhood friends still live nearby. We actually met in our college years in southern California and couldn't wait to move back to our hometown once we were married. Our two daughters were born while living in this house and although we love it dearly, our growing family needs a little more space as they enter high school. So, we moved across town but want to share our home with others visiting this little town that means so much to us. In all of our travels we have learned what makes us most comfortable while staying in a home away from home and have tried to include all of those special details to make you feel like this is your home too. I helped found the Lodi Conference and Visitors Bureau as Lodi began developing it's tourist sites and know almost all there is to know about Lodi, the events, the businesses and the wineries. Lodi is a small town that has many 'secret' gems. I would love to help you plan your visit here and to make the trip even better than you had hoped it could be.
Marne Simpson purchased this House in 1996
Why Marne Simpson chose Lodi
We are only the fourth owner of this almost century old home. It is beautifully built with fine craftsmanship and the perfect floor plan and has been lovingly cared for. The minute we first walked in the door we knew it was the house meant for us. It is set in the perfect location to enjoy the surrounding neighborhood and downtown area. The neighbors are friendly and the three outside patios give you lots of options for dining and relaxing all year round.
What makes this House unique
This older neighborhood is known for it's tree lined streets and families out walking the dog or playing in the park across the street. It is truly small town America with all the benefits of big cities. Celebrations are common, festivals are busy and the art scene is strong here. And all of it is happening within walking distance of our front porch.

The home was every bit as warm and inviting as the pictures. It was decorated for Christmas including a tree in the front room. The house is clean, beds comfortable and kitchen well stocked. A very charming home! We would stay again.
In the heart of it all!
First time to lodi. Great central location with walkability to down town lodi. Super addorable 3 bed home with tons of charm! We made an excellent dinner, grilled steaks, and dined with friends in the formal dining. Loved it Christmas decor and all! Just caddy corner from a park. Comfortable and feels like home!
Beautiful, comfortable, home away from home in a perfect location.
Charming and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen that is a delight to cook in. Excellent location. Great communication with the owner. This was our second year staying at Hutchins House for the Lodi Sandhill Crane Festival.
It's such a beautiful home inside and out. It was the perfect place for my bridal party and for myself. We stayed and relaxed there the day before and got ready there in the morning for the day of the wedding. We had our own personal hair and makeup dressers meet us there it was amazing. Unforgettable memories were created there thank you for that.
Excellent we were thankful to stay here.
The location was excellent and the home was perfect for our stay in Lodi. There was plenty of space for our family and lots of room for visiting, fellowship and meals. We were in town for a wedding and originally booked 3 hotels for our family. This was so much better as we had individual rooms for privacy yet plenty of common areas for visiting with family members and even locals from Lodi were impressed with this prestigious home. The neighborhood was safe and easy to get to wineries, downtown, shopping and restaurants. We felt fortunate to have the opportunity to stay in the Hutchins house. The owners were easy to work with.
