In initially wanted to go to Marylebone but could not find what I wanted. I kept looking and found this unit. I loved the location with neighborhood restaurants and pubs, a beautiful park across the street, quiet neighborhood, proximity to the Tube, and a easy 20 minute walk down to Big Ben. The place was very clean and communication with Una excellent. Other reviews have mentioned the slow internet (7-8mps) and the narrow steps which are true but manageable. Linens and condition of the place was excellent. Even in the heat high 80s for a few days) it was cool being the downstairs apartment. Una has assembled a full book on the area with places to eat and suggestions. Having use of the Oyster cards was wonderful and saved us having to buy them. I had my old one from 11 years ago and it kept it balance so I just added to it. The washer and dryer worked fine.
Some suggestions: a microwave would be nice. A larger trash can in the kitchen and having small ones in the baths would be helpful. The living room furniture is good if you are 6'2" and above as the couches are quite wide. In general a nice unit in a good location. I would come back again.
We enjoyed staying in this apartment. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms have been updated. Kitchen was equipped with very nice stove, fridge and all the other things one might need.
The owner is so easy to work with and always responded to any email I sent to her.Iwas sorry that we didn’t get to meet her in person. Thanks for allowing us to stay here!
Great first trip to London!
The apartment is very well located, close to Pimlico stop on the Victoria line (5 min walk). Una was extremely helpful and available to answer any questions. The apt. was clean, very quiet and living room was more than comfortable for 4 people. We stayed here with our 2 adult children. The apartment is below street level, however, so anyone who would have difficulty navigating steep, narrow, spiral stairs would have difficulty. But, was no problem for us, even in the rain. We ate at several very good neighborhood restaurants: Goya (authentic Spanish tapas) and Lorne (absolutely delicious). We also ate at Dishoom and had amazing Indian (there are several locations in the city. We ate in Kensington and then checked out the castle before heading back to Pimlico. Thanks, Una for helping to make our first trip to London so memorable!! Karin
Luxury and a great base for exploring London
We stayed in London with our two grandchildren (teens) and everyone loved this apartment. The large living room was comfortable and the bedrooms and baths were luxurious and well planned. Especially welcome was the separate washer/dryer. I cooked breakfast in the kitchen each morning. Una was a great host and worked with us when our departure was uncertain due to the French Frontier officials conducting a slow down. A short walk to Pimlico tube station and everything in London is in reach.
The apartment was perfect for our family of four.
The apt is spacious and well located. We truly enjoyed the Pimlico area as well as the greater London area which is easily reached by the Underground. Perfect place for families!
Comfortable, attractive and well-appointed flat on a leafy square near the Thames in Pimlico
We stayed here with our 2 teenaged grandchildren for 5 days. There was everything you needed to feel right at home. It was a short walk to the Pimlico tube station and an even shorter walk to the river. We walked along the Thames Path to Parliament Square in 20 minutes and to Millbank pier in fifteen to take the Thames Clipper, a river bus which is part of public transportation. I had been worried about finding good nearby restaurants that teenagers would like. No problem. One of the best places we ate on our trip was Pimlico Tandoori five minutes away. Also good and close were Grumbles and Pizza Express which has many delicious things besides pizza.
Our teenagers liked The Tower London (don't miss the Yeoman tour) and the tour of Parliament which is given every morning when Parliament is not in session including all all of August.
Last but not least, Una White, was very helpful and responsive.
The apartment is situated in beautiful St. George's Square in Central London, in the heart of the Pimlico Grid. You are 150 metres from the River Thames, 5 mins to Pimlico Tube Station (Victoria Line) and 1 stop to Victoria Station and the Gatwick Express. There are lots of good restaurants nearby, a comprehensive file of restaurants and places to visit will be left for you in the apartment. A car is not necessary. London's West End shopping, theatres and parks, are all close by; the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, Canary Wharf, Westminster Abbey, Kew Gardens. You can use the Thames River Boat service to take you to any of these places or alternatively use the London Underground or buses. London black cabs pass frequently, and private cabs are available to hire.
