Experience 1920’s Hollywood Glamour in this stylishly renovated 1,800 square-foot (175 square-meter) Spanish top-floor flat with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, plus office nook. This sunny flat features top-quality beds, luxury linens, designer furniture and original art. Kitchen is fully stocked with organic cooking oils, spices and a full array of appliances, cookware and gadgets.

LOCATION:

Located in the heart of LA in the very charming and upscale Miracle Mile district, also known as the Museum District. This district is known for its 1920s Spanish and Art Deco architecture.

It's very central and perfectly situated to be a base for your vacation or work destinations: Hollywood, Melrose, Miracle Mile museums, LACMA, The Grove and Farmers Market, Walk of Fame, Hollywood Bowl, Culver City, Burbank, Universal Studios, UCLA, USC.

Only 10 - 15 minute drive to Hollywood, downtown, LA Live, Staples Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall. 25 minutes to Universal Studios and Citywalk, Dodger Stadium, and Griffith Park. 15 - 20 minutes to Santa Monica and Venice Beaches.

DESCRIPTION:

This sunny top-floor apartment feels like a home because it's on a quiet, tree-lined street, has a private entrance AND a private driveway that is yours during your stay. AND the apartment has no shared walls; the entire top floor is yours.

The home has an open floor plan that is perfect for entertaining or relaxing. It's bright, functional, designer-done, yet oozes period charm with hardwood floors, chandeliers, coved ceilings, balconies, Art Deco sconces, hand-painted tiles and much more.

BEDROOMS:

The THREE bedrooms are accessed down a center hallway. Each bedroom is spacious and well-appointed featuring a new queen bed, new high-quality mattress, luxurious high thread-count linens and a window unit.

BATHS:

There are TWO full Baths, each professionally redesigned with designer tile and fixtures that exude a timeless elegant feel. The main bath has a luxurious oversized tub. The other bathroom is also redone with designer Ann Sacks tile, Kohler fixtures and a walk-in shower. Bathrooms are stocked with plush Egyptian cotton towels and organic soaps and shampoos.

PARKING:

Your own private driveway that can accommodate 2-3 cars.

KITCHEN AND DINING ROOMS:

The kitchen is designed for cooking with high-end appliances, tile floors, granite counter tops and plenty of cabinet space. It also has its own breakfast nook featuring a designer Noguchi table with Eames chairs.

The dining room features a walnut slab Parsons table that seats 6 and overlooks a romantic balcony with hand-painted Mexican tile.

LIVING ROOM:

The spacious living room features comfortable and stylish seating where you can enjoy a full entertainment experience. For chilly nights, relax by the gas-operated fireplace. If you want to watch TV there's a large 56-inch flat screen TV with surround sound.

I moved to LA from the Midwest in the mid 1990s and have called LA 'home' ever since. Since 2001, I have bought, renovated and rented out historic LA homes and enjoy making your visit to LA memorable and enjoyable. I live in another house in the same neighborhood so I'm a moment away should you need anything at all. I love this home and this neighborhood and work in the area. Outside of caring for this house, I'm a Digital Entertainment Marketing executive and part-time UCLA Instructor. Why Holly chose Los Angeles

This property is a very special 1920's era duplex that captivated me with its charm, open layout, romantic balconies, wood floors, barrel ceilings and celebrity past. British glam-rock musician, Marc Bolan (T. Rex) lived in this home in the 1970s with his wife, Grammy nominated Gloria Jones - so this home has great vibes! She was the first singer to record the song, Tainted Love.

What makes this apartment unique

Completely renovated yet retains an old Hollywood glamour feel. Layout is very open for a 1920s era home. Very well appointed with 2 balconies and a spacious private back patio dedicated for this unit. You'll also have your own driveway for your car so parking is very convenient, just steps from your front door. You will be living in the entire 1800 sq. foot top floor. Extremely quiet and peaceful street. It's a refuge in the middle of bustling LA.

Wonderful place to stay

Plenty of room and nice amenities. There were five of us and the 3 bedroom apartment had ample space to accommodate us. The place was clean and had working appliances and equipment. The owner was extremely helpful providing pre-trip info and answering the questions we had during the stay.

In a nice neighborhood and close to many local attractions. This made our family trip very enjoyable.

I would recommend this place to my family and friends.

2nd time rental

We rented this house for the second time for a large family trip for a graduation. We had 7 people sleeping here but had a family dinner and had 10 people in the dining room. The kitchen is wonderful, I baked a cake, cookies and fixed a few dinners in there. It is in a great location and fit all of us nicely. The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. The house is always clean and the property manager is very accessible if we have any questions. We would certainly stay again!

Comfortable and a great location

My family enjoyed our time here. The house is clean and comfortable. The location was really good. We were able to go everywhere we wanted without using the jam packed freeways.

The kitchen was pretty well stocked. It's nice to not have to buy things like salt and pepper and olive oil. There were lots of linens and things.

Holly is great. She's very responsive and helpful. The white binder of helpfulness provided some good info.

Great Place and a great neighborhood

We really enjoyed our stay at Holly's place. It is convenient and easy to get in and out of. The beds were comfy and the place was clean. Holly was also helpful with restaurant and market recommendations. All in all, we were very happy. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Minor, but here it is...the pots and pans are so old they are almost unusable (non-stick coating coming off and some pans have residue from the ages still stuck to them). It is a pretty kitchen that has all you need...unless you are a cook, and you will be frustrated. This is an easy fix, but it was really aggravating for us.

A little stale

First of all, this house is in a perfect location! Close to Hollywood, Beverly Hills, food and shopping. First impression of it: exterior was just as pictured, but once we walked into the home it smelled like it had been closed up for a while. (Grandmas house, moth balls, etc) we had to open windows and buy air fresheners to make the odor minimize. The pictures must have been taken a while ago because the furniture in the living room was pretty worn. Leather sofa was scratched and worn and the other sofa bearly had cushion, it was thin. Bedding was also, old and faded. However the mattress was extremely comfortable! I don't think the home was cleaned before we came because there were spider webs and dust on light fixtures, exterior entry ways, windows and furniture. We didn't even cook in the home because plates and pots were sticky and dirty. I would give it 5 stars if it got a deep cleaning , new comforters and re upholstered sofas and chair in living room.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback! A previous guest had also mentioned the scratched leather sofa; after assessing the state of the leather (despite a recent reupholstering), the owner decided to purchase an entirely new sofa. During your stay, we were awaiting delivery and it has since been replaced. The other sofa you mentioned is comfortable, substantial, and looks good. The chair in the living room is from the 50's, so perhaps you are confusing "vintage" with "shabby"? Leather sofa aside, your critique of the living room furniture is perplexing. The linens, duvets, duvet covers and pillows are all in good shape. Linens are all a high thread count, and pillows and duvets are high-quality down. All bedding and towels are continuously checked and thrown out when they are faded, ripped, stained or worn out, so I am unsure which "faded" bedding you are referring to. We take great care in ensuring the housekeeper does a thorough cleaning each and every time. As the manager, I inspect it when I restock before each arrival. After your departure, the (unused) plates, pots and pans looked fine. It is evident the cookware is not straight-from-the-box new, but the pieces were not dirty. The house was built in the 20's, so maybe that is why you associate the scent of the house with Grandma? A number of chemical-based solid air fresheners were left behind after your departure, so this might be a case of "different strokes for different folks."
