Hello Folks, We are Andy and Sheila. We live here on the mountain right down the road . The tree house is a six year dream come to life. We bought and retired here with a dream of building a place where we and others could relax and recharge and even play a little. We have been married thirty years and counting. Andy came from Iowa, Sheila (me) was raised only 40 miles from Monteagle. The mountain offered such beauty, we had to be here! We Love It and we believe you will too.
Sheila purchased this studio in 2012
When we started looking for a place to retire we came to the mountain just sight seeing. It seemed that every time we decided to wander, we ended up right back here. Ultimately, we had a plan to have a place where people can unplug and recharge. Life is so busy, it is nice sometimes to get away from it all. So, we purchased almost eighteen acres here. The treehouse is the first to be built for our plans of a retreat. Ultimately, we want to have a couple of places for people to come and relax and enjoy nature.
We fell in love with the land! Trees fifty feet tall, the valley with the tiny stream. We built our home here first. Andy had the idea of his tree-house, He designed and just finished it. Not just a plain little room but open exposed beams, kind of like the main house. Whimsy bath with a fossil sink, water can shower and rustic style. The open kithcen has the essentials for cooking and and 50's dinette set. Blast from the past is one way of describing it. But, Of course we had to have the comforts of home. The covered porch overlooks the small valley and opposite hillside of the property. Most folks are loving the swing and there is a small dinette. We are only three miles from town, but our location is on a dead end road (paved). We are within a 15-20 minute drive to most of the hiking trails and waterfalls of the area. The tree house is approximately 100 feet off the main road down in the trees. Privacy is given when you visit here.
Very quiet, cozy and has everything you will need. My husband and I enjoyed a weekend away to unwind!
Our"cabin/nest could not have been cozier. The amenities were top shelf. All we really need was a toothbrush; everything else was there. The hospitality was beyond any we had experienced before. Will definitely be back. Sheila went above and beyond.
I would recommend these properties without hesitation. Sheila was not only a great property manager, but she is such a great person.
My husband and I truly enjoyed our weekend at the treehouse. Sheila was very responsive when we had an issue with the fireplace and got it resolved quickly. The hot tub was very enjoyable and relaxing. A great place to get away from the stress of life and enjoy yourselves. The town is small so be sure to bring everything you might need, although, Sheila is able to help out with small items if you forget something.
I booked the Treehouse for our anniversary getaway (for two nights) and both my husband and I loved it as soon as we walked up to the front door. The porch was inviting and has a cozy table to have a meal or snack while enjoying the beauty of the woods; and inside is a suite with mini kitchen, comfortable bed and living area, all decorated in a rustic, fun style that instantly makes a guest feel at home. It also was very clean and well-furnished. It was the perfect hideaway in the woods, and I highly recommend this "home away from home" to anyone who wants to have a welcome break from their routine!
P.S. The shower head is a watering can!
This cabin is within a few miles of the Interstate highway but is entirely peaceful and calm. One can hear the birds, the wind in the trees and the sound of leaves rustling but not much else. This wasn't actually a tree house; rather it was built over a foundation of solidly anchored poles far enough off the ground to give a good breeze. I've been in tree houses and they do sway but this one didn't at all. The access ramp was a gentle slope, easy for those of us with artificial joints and the path from the parking spot to the ramp, as well as the ramp itself, was well lighted.
We don't do hot tubs, but we looked into the one here and found it to be clean, well kept and with easy access. There were also a chiminea style outdoor fireplace, wood, a small grill, plenty of outdoor seating.
We spent much time talking, playing the guitar and resting but for folks who can't leave the city behind there were television, et cetera. Kitchen was small but had everything we wanted for the little cooking we did.
