Glacier Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, one sleeper sofa (Sleeps 8)

The cabin has a large modern kitchen with slate floors, wine refrigerator, and all the amenities. The dining room table expands to seat eight.

The great room living room is carpeted with a propane fireplace, TV with Dishnetwork and Showtime, stereo, couch and two love seats.

The master bedroom is spacious with a sliding glass door out to the second story deck with a view of the mountains. It has its own bathroom with two vanities and slate floors. Bedroom No. 2 also has a sliding glass door onto the deck. Bedroom No. 3 is also large. All the beds are queen size with memory foam toppers. The leather couch in the living room pulls out into a double bed sleeper sofa.

The main bathroom is huge with a slate floor and tub and shower.

There are two decks, one off the great room with a BBQ and plenty of chairs for lounging and enjoying the view. Stairs lead down to the campfire pit area. The second deck is off the two upstairs bedrooms, also with comfy chairs to relax in and enjoy the trees all around. We have a six person hot tub, and a sauna large enough for 3 to 4.

The gated community of Snowline has a clubhouse with WIFI, basketball court, tennis court, pickleball court, playground for the kids, and a small lake where kids can fish. It is a very safe community, with on-site manager who patrols the area throughout the day and night. There are hiking trails within a short distance of the cabin. The roads in Snowline are paved and perfect for kids to ride bikes.

And, we are only 15 miles from Mt. Baker Ski area!

We do everything we can to keep fast, reliable internet service. Technology being what it is, occasionally the wifi wil go down, although that usually only happens once or twice a year. There is also wifi at the Snowline Community Club house, which is less than 1/2 miles from the cabin.

Pack-and-Play and high chair available for a small fee when requested ahead of time.

About Owner/manager

We are lifelong Snohomish County, Washington residents, where we raised our son and daughter. We have always spent our time outside, either skiing, hiking, boating, or cycling. We love Washington and all the outdoor activities.

Owner/manager purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Owner/manager chose Mount Baker

We skiied at Mt. Baker for years before we purchased our cabin. So we knew how incredible the skiing is, and how short the lift lines are! We thought we were purchasing a ski/snowboard cabin, but we enjoy the hiking and biking and the beautiful spring, summer and fall mountains just as much.

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabin is special because it is big enough for our family and their friends all at one time. The outside deck is a favorite for parties and BBQ's both in the summer and winter. The firepit is nice, because everyone loves a campfire, both young and old. And relaxing in the sauna or hot tub after all the outdoor activities Mt. Baker has to offer is a great way to end the day.

Big Buck Lodge

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful home! Our long-weekend stay was perfect in the "Big Buck Lodge". The kitchen was very well equipped to cook the food we needed, BBQ on the deck worked perfect as well. Full size fridge stored all of our goodies and wine fridge was unexpected but very useful! Wifi was very fast and allowed me to work from home from the cabin, what an amazing office! We found a couple great walking trails as well as the pool/community center area which had ping pong and Foosball. Bedrooms had plenty of storage for our luggage and bathrooms were clean. The beds were AMAZING! Very comfortable. Great experience at this cozy home in the woods, we will return soon.

What An Amazing Time!

  • 5 of 5

I thought this rental was truly amazing! We loved the location. We traveled from....a long ways away, and were so delighted to have stayed at the "Big Buck Lodge" in Glacier, Washington State. The lodge was warm and inviting, and was perfect for cooking big meals, eating with family and enjoying a glass of wine. Of course my kids loved the hot tub and playing on the deck. The swimming pool, baseball and tennis options at the club house were nice as well. The beds were comfy, but the couches and chairs in the living were divine! If we ever plan another trip out there, we will be sure to stay at the "Big Buck Lodge"! Love that name!

Baker Lodge

We had an amazing stay at this rental. Not only is it a beautiful location, but the rental itself is awesome. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, and the deck with the BBQ is great. It is family friendly with a pool, a play ground, and great for bike riding. My family can't wait to come back this winter and enjoy the snow and a soak in the hot tub under the stars!

Great property except for the mattresses

  • 2 of 5

First the positive: beautiful clean cabin; new appliances including dishwasher (very quiet!), washer and dryer also new (not listed in property description), very fast WiFi in cabin (went out a few times but came back quickly), cable TV, flat screen TV but stations did not include HD at least that we could figure out. Hot tub and sauna, which seem to be typical of many Snowline properties, fairly comfy and ample seating in LR and dining area. Great location if you're into hiking, easy access to spectacular trails too numerous to name. Access if you've never hiked in this area.

Now for the not so good: the mattresses on 2 of the 3 beds and the sleep sofa were terrible, obviously past their prime. For the two of us, it was fine since my wife and I slept on separate beds but when our married kids arrived with our grandkids, my wife and I had a terrible time sleeping on the Master BR mattress. When one of us would move, the mattress jiggled. It was impossible to sleep on the edge of the mattress since the edges were not supportive, a telltale sign of a worn out mattress. When I tried the sleep sofa the next night, matters went from bad to worse. That "mattress" was like sleeping on a bed of thorns, with the springs nearly protruding through the mattress and thus jabbing me whenever I moved. For the final two nights, I slept ON the sofa, which wasn't too bad.

There are two bathrooms, but one is on the first floor, away from the other two bedrooms.

Be aware that there's not much to do in Glacier. We found the restaurants mediocre. Milano's used to be a very good Italian restaurant but under its new ownership it "ain't what it used to be", not even close. It has a Wednesday pizza night with pretty bad pizza, not cooked in a pizza oven and a non-yeast crust.

Major grocery is the IGA in Neugents Corner, about 20-25 minute drive. Grocery in Glacier is not bad for a small store.

Of course, the location is superb, if you like great hiking, providing close access to some of the most spectacular scenery in the Pacific NW, meaning the entire country.

Because of the uncomfortable sleeping situation, we would not stay here again unless it was just the two of us or the owner purchased new mattresses.

Owner's Response: We are happy that Rob enjoyed our clean, updated, comfortable cabin and all the hiking, biking, tennis, pickle ball, basketball, and the swimming pool, sauna and hot tub. This is the first time anyone has said anything negative about the beds. Quite the contrary. All the beds have memory foam mattress toppers, and this is the first time anyone has been disappointed. We will check out the mattresses and purchase new ones if necessary, since we know how important a good night's sleep is. We make it clear that the cabin has three queen size beds and one double bed sleeper sofa. Sleeper sofa mattresses are necessarily thinner than regular mattresses. We have slept on that bed, and have found it to be fine for what it is. Our cabin has two floors with a full bathroom on the first floor, and the master bedroom on the second floor has another full bathroom. Milano's continues to be a good, upscale restaurant that has a loyal following and most people enjoy. Italian food is their specialty. Chair 9 Restaurant and Bar is very fun and popular with live music, pool tables and shuffleboard. Pizza cooked in their stone pizza oven is Chair 9's specialty. Graham's is homey, family-oriented and reasonably priced. We eat frequently at each of them and always appreciate the food, the service, and the atmosphere.

This beautiful home was a welcomed retreat from my busy schedule. I stayed 4 nights. The home is surrounded by trees, it is very quite but also has many activities. It was very relaxing. It has a hot tub, sauna and fire pit. The home is very comfortable . There were lots of things to do, we swam, played horse shoes, bad mitten, ping pong and went on several hikes. I would recommend this home anytime of the year. The owner was very nice and answered any and all of my questions promptly. This is a great retreat for several groups, families, romantic , adventurous , and away from it all. I will definately stay here again! Rebecca

Mt. Baker is a world-class destination for skiing and snowboarding. Many Europeans choose to ski and ride Mt. Baker. In the summertime the hiking, mountain climbing, and biking - both mountain and road - is just as spectacular. We have been on at least 10 different hikes where the beauty takes your breath away. And there are plenty of logging roads and trails for mountain biking. The beautiful 17 mile ride up to Artist Point is very popular with road cyclists. The Ride 542 competition in September draws lots of cyclists. The nightlife in Glacier is typical of a resort town, where the skiiers and boarders, hikers and mountain bikers gather to share stories. Be sure to stop at Mt. Baker Winery on the way up for some tastings of excellent wine.
