Enjoy the back deck, looking out out over a stand of pines. Listen to the winds moving up the green belt to rustle the aspen leaves and watch for occasional wild game in this quiet neighborhood.
Love the cool, pleasant summers at 8500 feet; the cool, crisp falls with colorful aspen leaves late Sept. - early Oct.; and the snow in winter and early spring.
Upstairs are 2 bedrooms (king and queen beds) and a full bath w/tub. Downstairs, find two bedrooms with 2 twins in each); full bath w/tub, shower, and laundry facilities; living room with wood burning stove; full kitchen and dining area (seats 8); sun room with table (seats 4) and sofa; fourth bedroom adjoins attached garage; back deck with built in benches and 4 garden chairs.
Walk to the lake and enjoy beautiful drives and walking/biking paths in the country club subdivision and surrounding areas, including national forests.
Located 1/2 mile (around the block) from Monte Verde Lake and 2 miles from ski and shopping area. We recommend 4 wheel drive in case of heavy snow; however, front wheel drive is usually adequate.

An outfitter in New Mexico and Texas, this Texas owner has spent August-January in New Mexico overseeing various hunting seasons since 1977. After leasing homes in the Angel Fire 6 years, Casa Dores became our family 'home away from home.' Aside from hunting season, Casa Dores has been our destination for Christmas holidays, spring break, and summer vacations. The hunter retired in 2009, the kids are grown, and we'd like to share our 'favorite spot' with you.
This custom home was built by a young architect as his first family home and is a fun place to visit. It is positioned with access to the greenbelt.
We settled on this property because of its unique charm and comfortable, livable spaces, as well as its accessibility to shopping and a wide variety of activities.
We really enjoyed our stay over spring break at this very cozy home. It had everything we needed for our two families. Everyone had space to play or have some alone time but also plenty of communal gathering areas to eat, play games, and relax together. The kitchen had everything we needed and all of the appliances worked well. The wood-burning stove worked really well too and heated the whole house quickly. We were in Angel Fire to ski and found the house to be in a very convenient location. It took us less than 10 minutes to get to the slopes, the grocery store, and the ski rental shop. It was also very convenient to have a washer and dryer in the house, particularly in a year where there was as much mud as there was snow! The only issue we ran into was running out of hot water for showers when all 8 of us needed a shower at the end of the day. We could squeeze in 3 at a time before the hot water ran out. Overall, we were very pleased with this house and definitely plan to come back again. The owner was so nice and great with communication. I highly recommend it.
The property owners are wonderful people and helped us out the entire time we were there. When we arrived the power company was having some problems and the lights in the house weren't all working. Connie called to make sure we knew where everything was and that we were getting settled in.
The house is set up great for kids and adults a like. The games were a great addition and the kutchen was well stocked with cooking equipment. If we come to Angel fire again and this house is available we would stay again.
We have been here before and we couldn't wait to come back. Everything was great again and this time the snow was even more awesome. We ski this resort more than any other place we have been and our whole family learned here through generations now. This home is owned by an awesome family. They take care of the home and their guests with every detail. Whether you have a large family like ours or a small group this is a great place and the value is unbeaten.
Great house in very pretty location near the slopes the lake and necessities with the feel of home. Four college age sons and parents getting to share that precious family time so rare as they get older. Everything you need to enjoy time in the snow and the deer even love it and visit twice a day. The owners are very personable people who go the extra mile to make sure you love their home as much as they do. The set up is probably perfect for summer time trips also with the view and outdoor cooking available on the large deck. Highly recommend.
We had an excellent time. I would recommend it to families with children and elderly. Every thing was clean, and we had all the things we needed.
The neighborhood is just beautiful and the outside of the home is rustic. When we walked in the front door the orange carpet was a little scary it could use some new carpet and living room furniture. One of the bedrooms is on the other side of the garage. The kitchen has everything you need and lots of space with two dining areas. Love the fire place, wireless internet and cable tv. My personal favorite was the huge deck out back and breath taking yard. Very close to Angel Fire Resort and had a blast skiing. We had a great stay and would visit again. For the price it is an excellent value.
Attractions & Activities and Driving/Direction Instructions
While a wider variety of activities is available in the Angel Fire/Taos area (i.e. shopping, white water rafting, Indian Pueblo), Angel Fire offers wonderful snow experiences in the winter, and beautiful walks, hikes, and drives in the summer and fall. The Angel Fire Resort and Country Club offer a variety of activities including skiing, fishing, paddle boating, golf, tennis, swimming, fitness center, biking, zip
line, disc golf and more; fees for these activities. Horseback riding and trail rides are available. Or just relax and enjoy.

From Taos to AF: Hwy 64 from Taos to AF (about 50 min. to 1 hr)
From Las Vegas/Mora: In Las Vegas NM take 518N to Mora (about 15min); R in Mora onto NM-434 to Angel Fire (will be twists and turns; where road 'T's', L to Angel Fire (about 35 min)
From Springer/Cimarron (about 65 mi to AF): Hwy 25 to NM-58 toward Cimarron (L onto NM-58 for about 35 miles), in Cimarron, Hwy 64 through Eagle Nest to Angel Fire (about 35 min), R onto 434 to Angel Fire
Entering AF from Hwy 64 (from Taos or Cimarron), Continue through AF Village and past Country Club entrance to Lakeview Park Dr. (at Monte Verde Lake); R onto Lakeview Park Dr.; 1st Right onto Via del Rey; 1st L at road fork onto Cimarron Trail. 6th house on left after turn; Iron Casa Dores Sign at drive. 25 Cimarron Trail.

***Do you need 4 wheel drive? When there is snow (could be between Sept and April), 4 wheel or front wheel drive recommended. Heavy snow or driving in the high country/forest roads, may need.
