This was one of those bookings where the reality was even better than the photos on the web. What a beautiful property and how lovely to be met by Giovanna with cold drinks on arrival. We stayed for 5 nights in Lavanda (2 adults and 2 children) which was huge! The apartment was equipped with everything we could need. Giovanna was so helpful drawing a little map to show us where to eat, park etc and an added bonus was that we were there during the Procession of Lucca. What an incredible experience. It turned out that the fireworks were best seen from the beautiful garden of Encantea and so after watching the procession we were able to come back to apartment and watch the fireworks away from the crowds. The pool was fabulous at the end of each day. The girls loved the large lawns to practice their cartweels and generally run around! Thanks also Francesco for the glass of wine whilst watching the fireworks...a truely memorable night!

Overall our experience was very pleasant, the host Giovanna was very kind and provided helpful information. The accommodation was clean, tidy and had all the essential appliances including a TV and washing machine, which came in handy. The salt water swimming pool was clean, enjoyable to swim in and the reclining chairs around the pool provided a relaxing environment.
Lucca is about a 20 minute walk away and is best undertaken in daylight. It is a advisable to return by taxi at night as the roads to the property have no lighting.
Lucca itself has a many shops, cafes and restaurants to chose from.
The location of the property provides an excellent base for days out in the surrounding area.
The apartment, location and surroundings were amazing. The apartment was located a 5 minute drive from Lucca walls. We didn't try a walk in the August heat but the walk would have been a 20/25 minutes pleasant walk. Lucca and the local area was a great base for our first visit to Tuscany, with the Alps, Pisa, Florence and the beaches easy drives to visit. Lucca is a lovely place to visit with its many bell towers to climb and the city walls to hire bikes and cycle around. The property was as described, very well maintained and had every thing a family with two teenagers could ask for. The gardens and pool area were wonderful especially breaking up our sight seeing days. Having an allocated area around the pool and portico area to sit during the evening was lovely.
The owners were very welcoming and Giovanna gave us plenty of local information and maps to start our holiday. After booking tickets to visit Duomo in Florence on line Giovanna very kindly and extremely promptly printed them off for us which meant we had allocated time-slots to visit the bell tower and dome without waiting in the lengthy lines.
I would definitely highly recommend this property, in fact if we visited the area again I wouldn't hesitate in stopping there again.
This is one of the best places we have ever been in Italy, and the apartment, pool, surroundings are just perfect for a stay in the authentic Italy/Lucca area.
Do not miss the chance to have a relaxing vacation, and enjoy both the city life of Lucca, and the country side of Tuscany area.
Giovanna and Francesco are both dedicated hosts, and provides perfect customer service.
Loverly apartment very clean with everything you need. The owners were excellent they maintain the grounds to a high standard. They were very helpful when we needed advice on places to visit. Thankyou
Encantea is a quiet place near Lucca, lovingly rented by Giovanna & Francesco.
We felt any time welcome there. The hosts take on request dinner reservations, provide tips for exploring the area or have a kind word for all their guests. Encantea is a wonderful base for day trips in the beautiful area. We would definitely come back!
This is a wonderful apartment. We stayed in the Lavanda apartment but the other guests were also enthusiastically positive about their apartments. We are a family with two young boys (8 and 6). The Lavanda had two bed rooms - a double room and a room with 2 single beds that the boys slept in.
The whole apartment was delightfully furnished and faultlessly maintained. The apartment was also well equipped with all manner of cooking equipment, a washing machine and a TV.
The pool is set within an enormous lawn and shared with the other 3 apartments alone so was never remotely overcrowded. The pool is a salt water pool and the pool and garden are regularly maintained by the owners Geovanna and Francesco. There are great views of the stunning Tuscan landscape from the apartments and gardens.
There's a small but well stocked Conad supermarket a few minutes walk away and a few other local shops and eateries but the area is relatively rural. However you're only about a 25 minute walk from Lucca. Lucca is a beautiful city with a few points of interest of it's own and tons of restaurant - many of which are very good. Lucca is also close to Pisa, Florence and the seaside resort of Viareggio.
Geovanna visited the property daily to water the plants and tidy and she was always friendly and helpful.
I would unreservedly recommend this property for anyone who is looking for a quite break away from it all or who wants a base camp from which they can visit the many interesting and beautiful sites across Tuscany.
